I had the most wonderful experience with Western Cars in the early hours this morning. Simon (driver no 453) picked me up from Gatwick Airport at the North Terminal at 2.30am. He rung me to ensure I was ready to be picked up. He arrived in a glistening black Mercedes.
Simon was so engaging with me, it felt like I'd known him ages and felt very safe in his car both from how he drove and the I was a female travelling by myself.
It was a breath of fresh air to have such exceptional service.
The journey was over far too quickly, he's definitely in the top 3 drivers in Western cars and I'm a regular customer.
The trip was a breeze and totally delightful.

Great pick up from LHR
Great pick up from LHR - pick up instructions were very clear and waiting time was very short. Morietta was really lovely and made the journey very pleasant.

Charged a lot more than quoted.
Turned up 10 mins late. Driver polite and apologised, HOWEVER, the price he charged was over a third more than I was quoted by the taxi firm
when booking. I would avoid using again for this reason.

Do not use
I was extremely disappointed with the service from Western Cars. I booked and paid for my taxi days in advance, yet it arrived 40 minutes late.
What frustrated me most was the repeated dishonesty. At the agreed pickup time, I called to check everything was on track and was told the driver was “three minutes away.” Ten minutes later, I called again and was told he was “five minutes away.” After another ten minutes, the driver finally admitted he was actually travelling from Shoreham to pick me up in Brighton and was still at least 15 minutes away.
I then contacted the office, who said they would speak to the driver and call me back. They never did.
To make matters worse, once I was finally picked up, the driver sped dangerously along country roads, turning an already stressful experience into an unsettling one.
I would not recommend Western Cars and will certainly not be using them again.

Most reputable companies Western cars are very consistent for airport transfers to Gatwick, short trips around town, or pre-booked rides for work/date nights.
Nice taxi company.

always use this service because they arrive on time, they helped with my wheelchair and were very friendly. The car was also very clean and smelt nice which was key for me and my preferences. He dropped me off and then picked me back up afterwards and both journeys were pleasant. Thank you :-)
