Update 11/17/2025 - Hi Eddie. We reached out to you a few days ago to get some more information so we could follow up on your complaint but have not heard back from you. Your name did not bring back any records in our system so we suspect you may have had a negative experience with a less-reputable business and would love to help clear this up. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We were very concerned to read your comments regarding communication and payment. At webuyanycar.com, we pride ourselves on delivering a smooth, transparent, and professional experience. We pay our customers immediately at the time of sale—whether by check, ACH, wire, or Zelle—so there should never be a situation where someone is “chasing down payment.” That’s simply not how we do business.

We’ve thoroughly reviewed our systems for our York location and cannot locate any customer record under the name “Mayhew.” This, combined with the fact that the payment experience you described is not how our process works, makes us believe there may be a misunderstanding and you may have done business with a different company. If not, we will be happy to address your concerns.

Hi Marc,

We Buy Any Car, like any reputable buyer, will never quote a firm price before being able to inspect the vehicle ourselves. Our online valuation tool is based off the information supplied to us by our customers and is for informational purposes only. That is disclosed in our disclaimers on our website and in emails you receive about your valuation.

Our team is trained to never quote a price whether that be maximum or minimum because we need to verify the condition of a vehicle by performing a physical appraisal. Your experience sounds outside the norm, and not typical of a standard webuyanycar.com interaction.

We record all calls for quality and training purposes and would be happy to pull the recordings and even share them with you. If our team set improper expectations, we will gladly make that right. We are not in the business of cheating our customers and wouldn’t have earned a 4.9 rating from almost 70,000 customers if that was our aim.

I see from the notes our Area Manager has already tried to reach out to you to address your concerns but was met with yelling and profanity despite our best efforts to get to the root of the problem. We remain committed to tackling these issues and hope we can have a constructive conversation and review the recordings and your experience together.

I have escalated your comments to our leadership team, and someone will be reaching out to you directly. It’s our hope we can speak 1-on-1 and resolve your complaint.
