Received wrong items, had to pay return shipping to get my money back

After waiting for my order for 5 weeks that was supposed to be in stock i got my order, but nothing as ordered. Their support didn't answer my email, but were at least responsive on discord. After some back and forth i had to pay return shipping to get my money back

We see you ordered this, we'll just send you what's most convenient for us.

I ordered 5 cables from them, then I received an email saying they were backordered. Instead of waiting till they got them they just sent whatever they had in stock and included 10 micro USB tips. Essentially all the cables are useless except to charge a kindle every 2 month. Good luck with customer support. All you can do is email them. They'll respond eventually then their follow up will be is there anything else we can do although they never even did anything.

Good Product, horrible shipping experience.

I have used Volta products in the past and have generally had positive experiences, which is why I felt confident ordering several chargers as Christmas gifts this year. I placed my order on Black Friday, and based on the quoted 2–5 day shipping timeline, I had no concerns about them arriving on time. As you can probably infer from the 2 star rating, that did not happen.

Over the past six weeks, during which I still have not received my order, though it is now allegedly arriving later this week, I have been in regular contact with Volta’s customer service team trying to get updates. To their credit, the representatives were polite and responsive, though their replies felt very scripted, and I was repeatedly given delivery timelines that were not met.

At one point, I was explicitly told my order would ship by the end of the week of December 15th. When that didn’t happen, I began to accept that the chargers would not arrive in time for Christmas. After that, there was no communication from Volta until December 23rd, when I was again “guaranteed” delivery by the end of the week, which again did not occur.

Around this time, I received an email apologizing for the delay, followed by a prompt asking whether I would like to add more items to my order. That was particularly frustrating, as I still had not received an order placed nearly a month earlier, and it felt inappropriate to be asked to spend more money under those circumstances.

Christmas came and went with no follow-up from the company. I reached out again, frustrated but respectful, asking what could be done to remedy the situation. The order contained gifts for visiting family, and due to the delay I had to make alternative arrangements. Now, when the shipment finally arrives nearly seven weeks after ordering (despite the originally quoted 2–5 day shipping window), I will need to pay additional shipping costs to get the items to their intended recipients.

Only after this point was I informed that the order was finally on its way. While I was told, “Your frustration is completely warranted, and you have shown more grace than this situation deserves,” the reality is that nothing tangible has been done to make things right. I have lost time, spent additional money, and endured weeks of uncertainty, and as of writing this review, I still do not have the product I ordered.

Volta makes good products, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. Reliable fulfillment and honest communication matter just as much as product quality, and in this case, both fell well short.

Edit: 4/29/2026:
I look forward to hearing back from Volta in their attempt to make things right, will promptly update when we get this matter resolved.

Outstanding Quality – The Best Magnetic Cable I’ve Ever Used!

I’ve tried a lot of magnetic charging cables, but the Volta MAX 240W is on another level. The build feels super solid, the braided cable looks premium and the magnet is strong and reliable – it snaps perfectly every time and doesn’t disconnect even if I move the device.

The charging speed is seriously impressive, it powers my laptop and phone super fast without overheating. I really like the small LED indicator too, it’s a simple touch but actually very useful.

What I love most is that it protects the USB-C port on my devices, which is a big plus if you charge often like I do.
Overall, great quality, strong magnet, real fast charging – totally worth it. Highly recommended!

Great travel GaN charger

Great product that is very useful in a work and travel setting. 140 Watt power perfect for charging 2 laptops at work or a laptop, mobile devices and camera while on holiday. A 2 in 1 device at a great price!

Waited three months to use it for a week!!!!

First, it took forever to arrive. Then, when I started using it, the magnetic connection was not secure at all - it would detach if you look at it sideways. Then, one day, I saw a weird protrusion from my laptop‘s USB port. The part that sits in the port had split from the rest of the unit that attaches to the cable! I didn’t even think that’s possible as I thought each of those tiny adapters is a discrete whole piece. Wires were protruding from it and it could not get reattached. So I waited three months to use this POS for one week before it broke. Don’t be stupid like me!

Chargers are great!

Chargers are great, with good build. If you own multiple devices like I do, including a monitor, then this will be perfect for you. It's been about 2 years since my first cable which is still holding up, and I just got my second cable and an adapter.

Participated in multiple kickstarters from them and also bought from the official website at least 4 times.
Always got my orders either from kickstarter or the website and the time I was having a problem, the team corrected the situation quickly.

The team and products @ VOLTA CHARGER…

The team and products @ VOLTA CHARGER are GREAT! I am a backer of the Volta-Max cable launch and have been a customer prior to that. Their magnetic cables are awesome and save on device port wear and tear! Launching a new product can be challenging and the team @ VOLTA CHARGER kept customers like myself, "in the loop" during the entire process. VOLTA CHARGER's customer care team is professional, knowledgeable, responsive and fair. The entire company consistently maintains their focus on the customer.

VOLTA CHARGER—A Company That Takes Care of You

Trustpilot limits the space for reviews, so I must redo this to make it fit within the constraints.

TL;DR:
Volta Charger cares for their customers more than almost any other company I've interacted with. I have never experienced a company who from the top on down values customer satisfaction 100%. Lots of companies promise this, but Volta Charger delivers.

The Story in Brief:
I participated in the Kickstarter for the Volta MAX. I ordered 3 black MAX cables, 2 extension cables, 2 tip cases, and some extra tips. I received my order rather quickly despite the issues, but received 2 red cables and 1 black. I reached out for a swap, and was kindly asked to wait for months on end as they took care of everyone who had not yet received their products first. Eventually I received my replacement free of charge (even letting me keep the original red I wished to exchange), but after waiting a week or so to try it out I discovered the cable was catastrophically defective on first use.

Upset, I updated my review here on Trust Pilot and wrote off Volta Charger. However, the CEO himself saw my review and would not stand for such a failure. He personally reached out to me directly offering a solution. I explained in detail what happened, and he validated that the particular cable I received is not at all the quality Volta Charger expects of their products, and he immediately shipped me a replacement cable (one of the new TPU Blue cables, giving me 2 now as I had already purchased 1 for my car).

The Verdict:
I feel bad about updating my review from 5/5 to 1/5 in my frustration. However, Volta would not stand for this, so with humble satisfaction I shall update my review to again reflect the quality of service and product that Volta Charger provides. Through thick and thin, if you can stick with them and be patient and kind, they will gladly pay you back ten fold. I personally do not believe you will regret any purchases you make with Volta.
