I’ve been a loyal buyer and seller on Vinted for over 5 years, but this experience has completely destroyed my trust in the platform.

A parcel I sold was confirmed as lost in transit by their own courier (Relay). The buyer was refunded immediately — yet I, the seller, received absolutely nothing.

Let that sink in.

The item was handed over correctly. The delivery was arranged through Vinted’s system. The loss happened within THEIR logistics process — and somehow the seller is the one left out of pocket.

I provided proof. I followed the process. I raised a formal complaint.

What did I get back? Generic, copy-paste responses and ultimately told there were “no further options.”

So in reality, selling on Vinted means you can lose both your item AND your money — even when the courier admits it’s lost.

This isn’t “buyer protection.” It’s a complete failure to protect sellers.

It’s not even about the £3.50 — it’s the principle. If a platform controls the shipping, it should also take responsibility when things go wrong.

Sellers deserve better than this.

It has great community help when you need it and makes fear for everyone. It’s easy to sell and buy.

There are some nuances. For example, the buyer protection fee could be optional.

Another issue is that the photos I uploaded were removed due to supposedly poor quality. The quality was actually good, but one photo included my kitten. In another photo, there was a coat. The coat was not made of real fur, but the system automatically identified the image as not meeting the requirements. I received a notification that the photo had been removed, along with a warning that stricter measures would be taken if I violated the rules again.

I have been selling for quite a long time—since the very beginning of Vinted—but these issues have only started occurring this year. I am disappointed and would like to see more manual review applied in such cases.

I am also concerned about the shipping cost to Finland. In such cases, I would definitely prefer the buyer protection fee to be removed. In any case, I have never had to use it, and it has not been of any benefit to me.

Not complete selection of choices describing product you sell, same for rejection of received product if it does not suite your needs,
Also not possible delete messages you don't need, leaving plenty trash on your account there including letters from Vinted, as if it would be a letter from "sacred cow"

Labai gaila kad neleidžiante kelti papildų. Nesuprantu taisyklės nes minite kad jie turi būti originalioje pakuotoje ir vis tiek blokuoja.

I’ve had a very positive experience with Vinted so far. The platform is very intuitive and easy to use. What I like the most is the huge community – there are many potential buyers, so my items usually sell very quickly. Also, the service fees are relatively low compared to other platforms, which makes it a fair place for both buyers and sellers. Highly recommended!
