I would not recommend VetComm's services. I feel their support was misleading (how they would represent me), their wait time for consultations were long, and the service they provided were minimal and certainly nothing I could not have done myself. The approach- in my opinion - is to file as many claims as possible hoping to achieve a 10% rating on one of those claims. If the 10% is achieved, their role is done unless you want to pay additional funding to appeal. I regret paying a large fee for their service and highly encourage anyone needing this type of help to look for alternative companies or other VA support groups.
I was told to contact the finance dept for VetComm to find a resolution, but when I call the number provided, and select the finance dept, it forces me to send an email about what I am needing. I have done this and the response I received was not finding a resolution but rather explain that what I paid for is to use their resources. I only went to their website once and that was at the beginning, when I was told to watch the videos and that is when I realized that I could not get compensation, since I have never went to medical for any type of injury. This being said, there is no way I could get any type of compensation, as VETCOMM promised me. Again, I need to get a refund, but VETCOMM refuses to do this and keeps wanting me to call in to Finance dept, but there is no option to talk to them, unless I talk to one of their agents first. This would mean that I would have to do the same thing I have already done and send them an email, which will continue this vicious circle
This was all BULL, as the resources are all a joke. All the complaints about VETCOMM are true, so please do not fall for them and do not give in to pay, since you think it will work for you. You need to do it the right way and use VSO if you really looking for disability compensation. I got suckered into this and I would like to prevent others from falling for this scam.
Once you have claims that are denied. They won’t give refund. They told me to get nexus letters and once I had them then they would help again. Their “help” is garbage. They want you to claim everything they can think of. I claimed three things. All denied. I asked for refund. Radio silence. Totally bad company that took a grand for nothing that myself and an ai chatbot could have done. I thought they knew how to help. Nope.
Update5/14/26. Refund provided. Changed from 2 star to 3
I do not recommend using Vetcomm to help you achieve your VA disability rating because they are Overpriced, Disorganized, Questionable business practices, and implement a toxic work culture.
OVERPRICED: They will charge you $1497 for their "Advanced VA Disability Course (OTP)", $2100 (3 monthly payments), $2400 (6 monthly payments), $1795 (Other than honorable), and $600 for extensions (if you want to try a second round to increase your rating).
What you are technically paying for is the online course/video; not them doing the work for you. If you want someone holding your hand (especially if you are elderly and technologically challenged) this is not the best option for you in my opinion.
Also, this payment is due upfront. If you cannot afford it, they will pressure you to use Klarna, Afterpay, Paypal, Cashapp to get a short term loan from them to use for this product. These companies will run your credit and typically give you a decent rate if you have credit over 650 FICO.
They do guarantee a moneyback guarantee if they cant get you a 10% increase if you go through their program unless you are already at 90% or trying to change your OTH (other than honorable) rating. In that case they will try 2-3 rounds and if they can't help, you lost your money.
DISORGANIZED: One hand does not know what the other hand is doing. Its a very top heavy medium sized company where the CEO (Kate Monroe) rules with an Iron hand. The overall group is alot of nice folks (especially the few veterans they have employed there).
You might luck out and get a sales person who actually cares for you, OR get someone who will just go through their script to find out how to sell you THAT DAY! They are under tremendous pressure to sell, sell, sell... Everything else comes second. Do not be surprised if you talk to someone who has never served, has no clue how to relate to a veteran but is constantly pushing you to sign up THAT DAY!
QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES: Their whole business model is toting a narrow line between getting more sales while technically not breaking the law. They do this by selling you a product (online videos, etc) rather than services which only VSOs can do.
Once you are signed up, they will schedule you with an appointment to help you set up zoom (going forward that is how you will communicate) and make sure you can login to the VA website. sometimes it can take up to a month for this first appointment which a lot of veterans find frustrating.
Your second appointment (could be another month or two out) will be with a "claims expert" who will go over your conditions and see what you should file for. Your mileage may vary. I had one person who had no clue and another (Marcel) who was extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately I do not think he is with Vetcomm anymore.
VA themselves can take up to 3 months for the overall process but Vecomm could add an additional 2-3 months (per round) for the overall process due to all the waiting. The good news is that once you have filed your LOI (letter of Intent), the VA will back pay you for all the time you waited for your approval (up to 12 months).
TOXIC WORK CULTURE: It is very stressful to work there. You are under constant pressure to make sales. The CEO does not care that most Veterans, especially who are older, retired, on SSI cannot afford to pay this huge sum upfront. So she constantly threatens the employees that they will lose their job if the team does not sell 100 veterans that day (Even on days like Christmas EVE).
So, even though most of the staff who work there are genuinely nice people, they cannot give the veteran their best as they are under contact stress to sell, sell, sell... They train how to sell, how get someone to borrow from their family, friends to sign up VS actually listening to the veteran and see how they can help them.
In conclusion, I think its a shame that this company who had a lot of potential to do really well for all veterans chooses the almighty dollar as their main objective. If you are decent at technology you can do the same thing yourself by watching some good youtube videos, using ChatGPT/AI to help you and save yourself tons of money.
If you are not good at technology and need some hand holding, this might work for you if you don't mind paying upfront, are patient, but then again they don't really hold your hand during the process; you still need to do the work - they just advise you on what to say or not to say. Other options to consider are Attorney, VSO (i.e DAV, American Legion) who are pro-bono. Also look into VeteransAI who I heard as 96% success rate.
Good luck on your journey and wish all of you success!
