Just replaced my 25 year old gas fire with a Valor Dream. I ordered black and they sent me one with brass fittings. My installer had real problems as the holes didn’t line up and he had to drill his own.
I’ve turned it on and my God, what a noise! It’s perfectly safe but I can hear it above the noise of the TV. It doesn’t give off much heat either. Nowhere near as good as the fire I’ve replaced it with.
Expensive mistake. Wish I’d read the reviews first.

Extremely disappointed with the fire. I have to get down on my hands and knees to turn the fire on and put my head on the hearth to see where the switch is. Not easy to operate and it also doesn’t look that good, very shallow about half the depth of my old fire. I would not recommend this fire to anyone

Ordered a valour heartbeat fire,from the gas fire supplier,when they came to fit it,there was a part missing.Valour wouldn’t replace the fire,so had to wait,for one of there fitters to come,after 3 visits it was finally fixed.Customer service is terrible,I will never buy anything from them again.

Purchased a Valor Inspire fire with surrounding mantel around £2500. The smell from the fire is horrendous after the usual 8 hrs burning off all the black burnt off the back plates which was replaced, still smells awful. I had a gas valve fail but they were unable just to change the valve which is about £80 they changed the whole mechanism which is over £500. The fire is now 5 years old. We used it for short periods of no more than an hour due to the smell. But have given up with this very expensive mistake.
I would not buy another Valor product.

Shocking company to deal with i have sold many valor fires over the years with no issues now it is near on impossible to talk to anyone helpful and i cannot understand a word they are saying , i have been on hold for nearly a hour trying to talk to someone as i have supplied a brand new fire and it will not turn off! i will rather lose a sale in future than go through this total farce RIP Valor

Valor Home Dream fire.Utterly useless - may as well sit round a candle. Never given much heat - can hardly see any flames.Not long had it had it serviced.but no better. Now,cannot get it to stay lit.DO NOT BUY A VALOR.

Don’t buy a valour gas fire. Our fire is not twelve months old and keeps cutting out. I phoned the company and was told it needs servicing even though it is not twelve months old and refused to do anything. The person on the phone was not at all helpful and my wife came off the phone distressed

Would give no stars if it was possible. Brought valor heartbeat fire in May 2022 so still under guarantee but can't get them out to repair it, sick and tired of waiting for a call back to arrange a call out. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I purchased a brand new valor gas fire in September 2021.
It seemed okay at first but when the cold weather came and I needed the fire on a higher setting it cut out and switched off after approximately 30 minutes. I had to keep going back to the fire and switching it off properly and then back on again. I had only just come out of hospital at this time and getting up and down to the fire was quite a problem
In the first instance I contacted the shop I bought it from. They were not helpful.
I completed an online form with every single detail on it. I sent it 3 times. Each time I got the same reply “we will get back to you in 3/5 working days”
When I finally persuaded the shop where I purchased the fire to contact Valor they said they had and Valor have put me on a priority list. That was weeks ago.
The fire is, of course, guaranteed for 12 months but that is not worth the paper it is written if the company will not correspond with the buyer
My advice….DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM VALOR. THEY ARE A DISGRACEFUL COMPANY

We had a Valor Excelsior Dimension electric fire installed 3 years ago. We chose it because the flame effect was realistic but I now regret buying this product. Even though it has only had occasional use as a background heater the flame effect has now broken and we are informed by the installer that it will cost almost the same to repair it as it would to replace the complete fire with a new one. One thing is for sure if I replace it- it will not be a Valor product!! I had imagined that if the flame effect broke it would be a simple case of replacing the bulb. How optimistic was I. I also thought I might be able to find some repair manuals on-line but the Valor web-site was purely a sales vehicle with little assistance regarding repairs. Avoid this product and buy one with a flame effect created with a simple bulb system.

I have a Valor fire and we don't use it much. The light went out destroying the whole nice effect although everything else was working - heat and the fan. To get it fixed its costing +/- £125 - ridiculous. Had we known this we wouldn't have bought one. I see other people online have expressed similar frustration. Give this company's products a miss.

Please please don't buy anything from this horrendous company, my father had to get a new fire after his old & I mean old valor finally gave up the ghost we decided on the valor heartbeat, what a mistake it's lasted 2 years I'm absolutely furious with there reply, which basically was "it only has a year guarantee & you have to service it once a year" like I didn't know that? Almost five hundred pounds for a fire that's lasted just about two years, the engineer who has been trying to fix it also remarked that the parts for it are now obsolete! The fires two years old! It's now going to cost us a small fortune to get it fixed or get a new fire. Do yourselves a favor choose another company to get your fire from, it's amazing to think if you bought a TV lead from a pound shop you get a years guarantee on it but companies like this won't stand by the quality of there products when you pay almost five hundred.

THOROUGHLY DISGUSTING SERVICE
On the 15th October 2019 we purchased a Valor Black Beauty Model 341 from a local retailer, as a replacement for a Valor Black Beauty model which had served us faithfully for some 25 years, & had developed some age-related faults.
The new fire was fitted on 18th October & was used for about 6 hrs each evening on 18th, 19th & 20th October, but the ignition & gas regulator failed completely on Monday 21st October.
I refused warranty repair & rejected the fire as unfit for purpose, the retailer obtaining a replacement after considerable difficulty in contacting Valor, which was fitted on the 25th October. The engineer was unable to get this fire to light for exactly the same fault as the original!
I wrote to Valor on the 25th October, stating almost verbatim the facts as written here, & they have totally ignored my letter.
I now have had a modern electric fire fitted, which hopefully will provide good service, as I have no confidence whatsoever in this company if this is the way it treats its customers.
I am £150 out of pocket on the original gas fire installation, & the retailer also had to meet the cost of the abortive installation of the replacement.
Caveat Emptor !!!!

Excellent product and delivery and service
