To comment further your business can't be fine 3 days ago and go into liquidation the next day without your knowledge that the company is failing. You have taken well over £1000 off an elderly blind woman with severe heart failure just last week.

You comment your frustrated over the news of your company going into liquidation? Frustrated?
You have taken large amounts of money from people and left them with nothing in less than a week. Without even an apology. Shame. On. You.
Will you be establishing a new business with a new name?

We paid a deposit of £1725 early November to get shutters installed with a lead time of 14-16 weeks. I got in touch with them mid-Jan and was advised they were waiting to hear back. Got in touch again last week or so and was told they will be in touch to firm up the date of installation towards the end of Feb. Received an email last night informing me that the business has gone into administration. Now I am left with no shutters, a big sum out of pocket that I might not recover anytime soon, and having to go through the months-long wait with another business to get shutters. While I could go on a rant here about how businesses should and shouldn't be run, Universal Shutters shouldn't have been taking orders that were going to be fulfilled outside their cash runway!

**UPDATE** you can submit a charge back claim on your debit card, via your bank if payment was in last 120 days OR Section 75 claim if you paid by Credit Card. Contact your bank or credit card company.

Paid my deposit of £1711 in October and was told 16 weeks to get the shutters made and shipped over from the supplier. Chased at end of Jan as I heard nothing and was told due to staff shortage they would have an update to me by 7th Feb. Alarm bells were ringing so I chased again on 2nd Feb. Today I receive an email saying they've ceased trading and gone into liquidation. I'm disabled and have been saving for years to get my shutters. I sacrificed a lot to save up and wanted the shutters to help save on energy bills.
I'm utterly devastated!!

I don’t care about YOUR frustration!! Please don’t insult me by saying your business was operating normally 3 days prior. I’m a Director of a Ltd company and would know by now if my business was going to fold this week!
You have taken thousands and thousands of pounds from people who, like myself, wanted to support a local business. It also appears your business traded by bank transfer, taking away any safety net from customers.

Paid Colin £610 deposit a few weeks ago and have just been advised he has gone bust! Ethically, I’m disgusted…he happily stood in our daughters new bedroom, measured up and took our money knowing his business was about to fold. I run a business myself and these things don’t happen overnight! I would NEVER treat my customers like this.

I have been chasing your team now since December, about the whereabouts of the shutters we ordered in July 2022. We appreciate there was a delay (due to covid) from October, and we accepted this. We were then told they should be installed by February 2023, given that is next week, I’ve been trying to get hold of the team to find out where they are.

Ive just got home from work wow what a transformation to my rooms they look fantastic and great quality. I wish i done this years ago they look so smart. Beautifully finished. Thank you Justina and Jamie i love them so much.

Had two shutters installed, very happy with quality and whole experience. The shipment time is frustrating but the same for every supplier I spoke to, and the good thing is Universal Shutters were clear on this up front, kept me informed and delivered as promised. Final installation was quick, neat and tidy. everyone I dealt with from sales to installation was pleasant and professional.

My window Shutters have just been installed by Jake from Universal Shutters and they are stunningly beautiful, much better than I imagined! Jake was very professional and extremely tidy, he did a brilliant job! Justina kept me updated on delivery time line! The shutters did take a long time to arrive, but it was well worth the long wait! I couldn’t recommend universal shutters highly enough. From initial enquiry to installation, the team were responsive and polite. The wait time for the shutters to be installed was far less than some of the leading companies in the UK.

Good advice from Dan at measurement stage, good communication and service from Justina in the office and neat clean fitting from Jake. The white wooden shutters look amazing , great quality on par with the best quality from top competitors but with a friendlier price.

Universal shutters were brilliant from start to finish, each member of staff were helpful and knowledgeable and you were always kept informed of where you were with your order status. The end result looks fantastic so the initial measurements were perfect ending in a great finish

My shutters are beautiful. Oh how I love them sooo much. I would say Universal Shutters delivered an excellent customers service. The shutters were ready to be installed on the expected delivery date, but as I was not available on the day, I had to reschedule. The fitter was very experienced and friendly. We had shutters installed in 3 rooms, the rooms are looking lovely 🥰 🥰🥰
