Cancellation Designed to Discourage Refunds
subscribed to the Unifi TV package and decided to cancel it to avoid recurring charges. The cancellation process was already inconvenient because it could only be done through customer support chat instead of allowing customers to cancel it themselves.
What made the experience worse was that they cancelled my subscription immediately instead of letting me continue using the service until the end of the paid subscription period, which is how most online TV providers handle cancellations.
When I asked how to claim a refund for the unused portion, I was told to come back the next day and chat again. However, they had already terminated my account, so I had to create a new account just to continue the refund process. I was then informed that the refund could take up to 90 days to process.
Most online TV providers let customers cancel their subscriptions themselves while allowing access until the subscription expires. This experience felt like a poor customer experience and, frankly, a tactic that discourages people from requesting refunds because of the unnecessary hassle. Many customers may simply give up and let the company keep their money.
