Effective and great program, the majority of the teachers are great! However, professors who flaunt their MAs but can't maintain humility ("sore loser" attitude) when presented with facts and research don't advocate the leadership qualities a teacher should have, an important quality that should be transferred to students beyond just the lessons themselves.

Keren's classes are practical and fun. She mixes in just the right amount of input and output. Since I started taking her classes, I have noticed huge improvements in my ability to speak and understand Chinese. I always feel challenged in her class, but at the same time, we have a lot of fun. I highly recommend her. When I struggle with complicated sentence patterns, she repeats them back to me so I can hear what the proper response should be. Keren is very intentional about placing me in the right group where I can feel comfortable, yet her classes are rigorous. I'm so glad I found her.

Keren has a true talent for education and a talent for teaching. This is true to the point where you don't really feel like you're in a class and then ten lessons later, you're shocked by your own progress. If you've ever taken language lessons before, you'll know that feeling of reaching a sort of plateau, struggling to continue conversation, etc. These are the sorts of experiences you will not have in this class. The ability Keren has to find your level, enter your skill range and modify vocabulary, speed and grammar accordingly is what will make you feel the most comfortable. Even if you have never taken a private Chinese course in your life, you'll feel at ease from the jump.

For the technical folks out there, comprehensible input does work. Growing up in Canada, I wish this was the way I was taught French as well. It will solidify your passion for the language as well as your foundation as you progress. This method of language education is really becoming popular, however only really for English -- it is basically non-existent when it comes to Mandarin. In short, take this chance! Hop on the comprehensible input train to learn ((in))arguably the most useful language in the world.

It’s hard to put into words how good a teacher Keren is, or how brilliant her course is, by which I mean, the course she has so thoroughly and painstakingly mapped out. There are so many ways to learn a language out there, with different pressure points and moments of struggle. Having lessons with Keren is basically cheating, not least because these moments do not exist.

She has laid down the road for learning Chinese and watched, adjusted and perfected it as her many students have walked the path. How can I make such a claim? Well I reviewed and re-watched or listened to my single weekly lesson every day, somedays adding the previous week's lesson, etc. I got to a point in which I had almost memorised the lessons word for word (yes I know, but I love studying, and know the value of repetition in language learning). Even with this level of repetition, I was able to harvest new vocab and patterns of speech from every review. The more times I reviewed a lesson, the more layers were revealed.

I reached a point, perhaps after watching a lesson 7 or so times, that I began to notice with incredulity that Keren seemed to predict and be prepared for every type of situation that arose or mistake I made. Even when I knew what was coming, she was still many steps ahead of me! Not only that, she would correct the mistakes often without me realising, even picking and choosing when to do so. Keren is an expert, a master teacher, constantly weighing up what’s going on, if you’re enjoying yourself and what to do next. She taps into a genuine wealth of experience and creates what I would describe as a genuinely exhilarating learning experience. Regardless of studying Chinese, this in itself makes the lessons worthwhile.

This is the real deal. It is not made to be scalable (beware of every app, book or non human “method” of learning a language), it is made to be as effective as possible for the student, thus it necessitates heavy involvement from the teacher, just as a parent is heavily involved in teaching a child their first language.

After 10 lessons with Keren, I was speaking with another Chinese teacher and she literally did a double take when I told her I’d had only 10 lessons, and said that I’m already between HSK2-3. It’s true I can already have a very basic exchange with a native speaker, yet although I have a really long way to go, when the process is this enjoyable, I’m certainly not impatient for it’s end! Thank you so much Keren. I’m glad I discovered you while you still had some availability!

I have taken 9 lessons with Keren so far and am very happy that I started. Keren is a very good teacher. She uses TPRS and focuses on Comprehensible Input to teach. She is very good at teaching proper sentence structures and making it feel natural.

The teaching method emphasizes comprehensive inputs. The teacher speaks Chinese most of the time and uses fun, interesting stories to teach new vocabularies which the students can remember and recall easily.

Keren has a deep and thorough understanding of Comprehensible Input / TPRS. She’s the one who only needs to teach a student once and the student remembers her forever because of her fun and effective teaching style.

Her sense of humor creates such an engaging vibe that students fully focus on the message she’s delivering, rather than trying to decode a different language.

She cares about her students’ opinions and encourages them to clearly, and slowly, express themselves in the target language. Keren’s students have the sense of being seen and heard, rather than having to keep up with their teacher’s lessons that go by in a blur and feeling frustrated.

As a comprehension based Chinese teacher myself, I’m so grateful that we have Keren in this field. She is a big player in spreading the word of Comprehensible Input / TPRS teaching. I look forward to seeing more and more language learners benefiting from her awesome teaching!

Keren is certainly an excellent teacher. Keren uses the comprehensible input method. This method was effective in acquiring words, as well as their use. One thing that I enjoyed about her classes was pronunciation, as Keren speaks slowly and firmly, this allowed me to learn to express myself basic Chinese quickly. Another virtue of her classes is that she does not feel the pressure to be learning, Keren on the other hand is a very patient and attentive teacher. I personally recommend her classes.

If you want to learn Chinese and do not like traditional learning. The TPRS learning way is the way to learn from Keren. She is awesome at teaching you and helping you understand conversation rather than remembering books that serve you no purpose.

Keren taught me Chinese in 2018 before I departed to live in China. From the first lesson Keren had me speaking in Chinese and she spoke almost entirely in Chinese. Keren is experienced with comprehensive input which is a research proven method of learning language. Because I was departing for China, Keren and I focused on basics that I would need to know once I arrived including common phrases and characters. So if you have specific goals with your Chinese she can help you. For me the lessons helped me adjust after I moved to China and avoid culture shock so it was very worth it.

I can't recommend learning Chinese with Keren enough. After a few months of classroom learning I realised I needed a different approach to progress with the language. Keren's lessons are engaging and always fun she always includes what interests you, which keeps the content interesting and relevant. I have learned more in 6 lessons than I did in 6 months of traditional methods! Thanks Keren!

Keren is always such a professional, and one can easily tell that she has a lot of experience teaching Chinese through TPRS/Comprehensible Input. She is very patient and knows how to seamlessly adjust lessons to the individual's current level. In just a few lessons, my fluidity speaking Chinese, and speed understanding native speakers dramatically increased. If anyone is ever searching for a Chinese TPRS/CI teacher, then Keren is definitely the way to go!

I think the hardest thing for a language teacher is to explain a complex problem in a simple and effective way, a way that students can understand and apply in a real situation in a very short time. Keren does it in a relaxed and humorous way. This is not easy for a teacher, most teachers explain questions in a more complex way.

I had been trying to apply comprehensible input (CI) teaching methods in my own classes. I found teaching videos online and participated in training. I tried to apply these methods in my own classes, but felt that although I learned the essence of CI teaching, I could not apply it effectively. After trying four or five times, I considered giving up. A friend recommended that I watch some of Keren’s demo teaching videos. Finally, I got my “aha!” moment when I was watching one of Keren's live video lessons. I could not believe that I had been trying for so long and I did not get it. Now, after watching only one of Keren’s videos, I totally understand CI and know how to apply it in my class. This experience seemed like a miracle to me, but it is so true. I have helped my students in a more effective way since I applied the CI method. My students are improving three or more times faster than before.

I am so lucky to know Keren. She is an excellent teacher. She has been very generous in sharing her teaching experiences and resources with me. I have never seen such a generous teacher as Keren. She is a CI teaching method promoter, and she wants more teachers to apply this effective teaching method. I discovered more of the CI teaching field because of Keren's guidance. I have to admit that I work harder to apply this teaching method because Keren is such a positive influence.

Her teaching talent, hard work, professionalism, charisma, and influence deserve my deep admiration.

I first saw Keren’s videos on Youtube, and was immediately impressed with how passionate she was and how fun her lessons looked so I reached out to her and we had a trial lesson.

I was hooked immediately. The structure of the lesson was so clear, and you knew that at the end you would have not only learned new words and grammar patterns, but used them extensively in context.

I love the idea of storytelling being a major part of the learning experience, and it’s clear that you can make a story as basic, or as advanced as you like.

Keren plans each lesson meticulously, with a very clear structure, introducing verbs, nouns and adjectives, and then grammar points, coming up with actions to connect them with the real world, then we review the words in different ways, before moving on to questions based around these words, and stories, often based on a picture which we describe.

At the end of the 50 minute lesson I have learned and used normally around 10-20 new words in lots of different contexts, I have a video of the whole thing, so I can rewatch it, and Keren sends through an audio recording of the story that we have constructed.

Though I have been learning Chinese on and off now for 15 years, the last few months have been the most enjoyable and revitalising language learning experience I’ve ever had, thanks to both Keren, and TPRS.

Keren has been my Mandarin tutor for the past several months, and I’m very happy I found her. I’ve made huge progress learning with her methods. She is always patient and makes sure you understand the material. I always look forward to our lessons. I couldn’t imagine studying with anyone else. Thank you Keren!

Keren老师， is an awesome teacher. I was looking on YouTube for ways to learn Chinese better and I came across her video about TPRS. Within the first 5 minutes, I said to myself she has to become my tutor!!! And she did! She gave me so much confidence to believe in my Chinese level. She helped me to enjoy preparing for Hsk 6 by going over the vocabulary and showing how to use them in real life. Not the textbook way. She is patient, kind, funny and honest. I would reccomend anyone from beginner to advanced Chinese learners to book a class with her.

Keren is a fantastic teacher with her own unique ways of teaching (living up to her brand name perfectly)!

She is super comfortable, speaks strong English and teaches you incredibly useful things for day to day life in China.

I discovered Keren on YouTube and her intro video sold me immediately. She's a great person to have around and makes learning Mandarin genuinely fun. For me, this much more fun than just taking a Mandarin class and sitting with a textbook.
