Please don’t use this service, I have uploaded my music containing part AI. First album they accepted and distributed, second album was rejected and asked me plenty questions, after I submitted those answers, they rejected my distributed album. When I requested a refund they stated that:
With regards to your refund request for your subscription, we unfortunately cannot issue a refund once our service has been engaged. By creating an account, uploading content, submitting releases for review, and agreeing to our Content Policy, Anti-Fraud Policy and Distribution Agreement, at the time of upload, the services included in your subscription have already been utilised.
Actually I used this service but I don’t get any service apriciately and they declined my membership without proper notification. And they don’t want to refund me even I warned them to leave bad reviews on TrustPilot but it seems they don’t care about bad reputation.
Please stay away from this platform if you don’t want to be wasting money and time and effort. They are most likely scam !

The worst experience I've ever had.
The worst experience I've ever had with any service or company. They advertised free distribution so I registered and uploaded well mixed and mastered song with a good quality cover image, which all easily fulfilled the requirements. It gave an error without details several times, and support couldn't explain why either. It finally went through months after uploading for the first time.
I had given up hope long ago, but a week ago I got an email that my song will be available on Spotify in two days. And behold, it finally appeared, 3 weeks short of a YEAR after uploading it for the first time. Yet it still shows with an error in the web app.
I asked the support to take it down since I don't want anything to do with a company like this. They replied that the song hasn't been published since it would require an active subscription. Yet I already listened it on Spotify a few times.
So, free distribution isn't free, yet goes through a year later. Good luck with that.
REPLYING TO UNCHAINED’S RESPONSE:
The cover art was changed when the first upload gave an error, to make sure it didn’t fail because of that. It was then reuploaded to your services with this exact cover art. I have never even tried to upload any music through any other agents. Also, until today the song showed an error on your web platform but if I clicked to it through the artist roster it showed as published. You have now changed it to “removed”, so hopefully that means it’ll be removed from Spotify as well.

I want to clarify a couple of points. Our support team has confirmed that your release "Speak" has not been delivered to stores through Unchained Music. It is not in our processing queue, has not been distributed via our platform, and was removed from our system in early 2025. Furthermore, the release that you provided us in 2025 does not have matching cover art to the release that is currently live on Spotify, so it could not have been delivered by us because we have no record of the new cover art.
If the song is currently live on Spotify, it would have been delivered by another distributor, and we'd recommend reaching out to them directly regarding any takedown requests. This was communicated to you via the support ticket you opened.

Terrible and misleading service.
I paid for a subscription specifically because it advertised YouTube Content ID, but after payment, I was denied access to this feature with no clear justification.
Instead, they falsely accused me of using AI-generated music, which is completely untrue, and failed to provide any evidence to support this claim.
Key limitations were not clearly disclosed before purchase, and when I requested a refund, it was refused with generic excuses.
This feels like deceptive and dishonest business practices. Very disappointing experience — I do not recommend this service.

Every release uploaded to our platform undergoes audio fingerprinting analysis via industry standard tools. Both of the tracks in question from your account, "Serotonin" and "Skyline Siege", returned an extremely high likelihood of AI-usage, with Suno identified as the likely source. This failure was provided to you via a support ticket. Combined with your AI generated visuals among other flags, our human reviewers decided that this was not eligible for YouTube Content ID and needed supporting documentation regarding the creation process.
YouTube sets the eligibility requirements for Content ID, not Unchained Music. We are unable to deliver content to Content ID that does not meet YouTube's policies, which explicitly prohibit AI-generated material. This isn't a limitation we chose to hide as it's a platform-wide requirement enforced by YouTube itself.
To be clear, your account, your subscription, and your access to all other features of the plan remain fully intact. The limitation applies only to Content ID eligibility for these specific releases.
If these tracks were genuinely produced by you, this is straightforward to resolve. A screen recording of your DAW session showing the original project files would allow us to review the decision. We've always been happy to work with artists who can demonstrate original creation.

Unprofessional and clunky experience
I have been with Unchained for almost a year on the Pro tier, and in that time there have been a multitude of complications and frustrations.
One particular grievance I had was when one of my songs was falsely copyright-claimed as having used a sample from another song, simply because the titles were the same.
I received some pushback when I challenged the claim as illegitimate, so I presumed it was likely made by artificial intelligence as any human reviewer would instantly hear that the song contains no such sample and doesn't sound anything like the other track.
My second frustration came when I decided to release a single around April last year. I was met with Unchained's inability to process the release in a reasonable amount of time. After long periods of silence from support, I was finally able to release the single in mid-June—many months past the initial upload.
The final nail in the coffin was when I decided to cancel my subscription. Although that process has been straightforward and support has been more responsive as of late, the payout system using Borderless has a minimum withdrawal of $15, so I wasn't even able to collect the few royalties I had accumulated while with Unchained.
In short, I don’t recommend Unchained, as they have been inconsistent and have failed to live up to professional standards of distribution.
Edit to the claim that releases are only delayed if you have failed to provide all correct information. That is a lie. Last year I provided all the proper information for my release, and before the streaming services could even be involved, Unchained failed to process and distribute the release within the time frame they claimed it would take. Only after sending support numerous emails over a long period of time, would the release go live. And all the information was easily processed by the streaming services without a problem. And I was told that my release had no problems by unchained. Trying to claim that it wasn't because of the company's lack of unprofessionalism and blaming it on the consumer, especially when that claim is false is not a good business practice.

Regarding the copyright flag on your release, we use industry-standard audio fingerprinting software, which is the same technology used across the distribution industry. When a release is flagged, it is then reviewed by a human member of our team. We do not use AI in our review process. A flag based on matching metadata or audio fingerprints doesn't mean we're claiming you sampled something; it means the system identified a match that requires verification, which is a responsibility we take seriously to protect our platform, our artists, and the DSPs we deliver to. This was made clear to you after the flag was raised.
As for the timeline on your single, the only scenario in which a release would be delayed for that length of time is a failure to provide the requested documentation on your end. When a release is flagged, we're required to collect supporting documentation before we can proceed as this is a standard step to protect against copyright and fraud issues across the platform. Delays in providing that documentation directly impact the release timeline.
On the $15 minimum payout threshold for major currencies, this is well below the minimums set by most distributors across the industry, and it is clearly outlined in our FAQ prior to signup.
We understand these processes can be frustrating, but they exist to maintain the integrity of the platform for all artists. We wish you the best moving forward.

Our system flagged the releases because the audio appears to have been generated using Suno, as you provided a license as such. At this time, Suno and similar AI music generation platforms are not eligible for monetization or distribution through our platform because their training datasets have not been publicly disclosed or verified as licensed.
As outlined in our Content Policy, AI-generated or AI-assisted audio can only be distributed through our system when the AI model used has published its training data and confirmed that the material used to train the model is properly licensed. This policy is in place to protect artists, distributors, DSPs, and rights holders from potential copyright claims related to AI training datasets.
Even if content generated through a platform like Suno is already available elsewhere or being played online, we cannot distribute or monetize content created with models whose training data has not been verified.

WARNING: Predatory 'Bait and Switch' Tactics regarding AI Music
I am writing this to warn other independent creators about Unchained Music’s deceptive business practices. They are currently utilizing a "Bait and Switch" tactic that targets the AI-music community.
1. The Bait: Misleading "AI-Friendly" Marketing
Unchained Music actively markets itself in creator communities (like Reddit and Discord) as an "AI-friendly" alternative to traditional distributors. Based on this professional image and their outreach to AI artists, I purchased a yearly subscription on February 17th.
2. The Trap: Impossible Requirements
Immediately after paying, my release was rejected twice. Their support informed me that they only accept AI content if the AI model is "Fairly Trained" certified or has disclosed all its training data. Since major platforms like Suno and Udio (which 95% of AI creators use) are not currently on this specific list, Unchained effectively blocks almost all AI creators AFTER they have already paid their non-refundable subscription fee.
3. Human Involvement
Despite my music showing clear human creative involvement (stem separation, re-arranging, studio editing, and mastering) and me providing full proof of my Suno Premier commercial license, Unchained Music still rejected my content. They move the goalposts by demanding a 'Fairly Trained' certification that they know 99% of AI creators cannot provide. I followed every single one of their 'human input' rules, yet they still took my money and blocked the service.
4. Categorical Rejection Despite Legal License
Despite providing official PDF documentation of my Suno Premier License (proving I hold 100% commercial ownership), they refused to distribute my music. They lure AI creators in with "AI-friendly" slogans, knowing full well that the tools these creators use do not meet their hidden, impossible standards.
5. Violation of EU Consumer Rights
I requested a refund on February 20th, well within the legal 14-day withdrawal period for digital services in the EU. They refused, claiming the "service was utilized" simply because I logged in and uploaded a file. However, the core service—distribution to global platforms—was 0% delivered.
Conclusion:
Unchained Music collects fees from AI creators while knowingly providing an unusable service to that same group.
Creators: Do not waste your money here. They will take your fee and then hide behind their "Fairly Trained" policy to block your music and keep your money.
Unchained Music appears to be attempting to evade responsibility. The volume of negative reviews is indicative of a broader pattern. I ultimately secured a refund through my credit card provider.

First, our AI policy is clear, public, and enforced consistently. AI-assisted music is allowed only when:
1.) There is clear, meaningful human creative involvement
2.) The AI tool is ethically trained with transparent datasets, as set out in our Content Policy
3.) Full commercial rights documentation is provided
Suno is specifically listed in our Content Policy as a currently disallowed platform due to undisclosed training data. This is not hidden. It is publicly stated in both our FAQ and Section 6 of our Content Policy.
For clarity, Section 6 states:
"Unverified or Unlicensed AI Tools: Content generated using AI models with unclear, undisclosed, or unlicensed training data. Examples of currently disallowed platforms include Suno, Udio, Mureka and similar models until such time as their datasets are verified."
Holding a commercial subscription to Suno does not satisfy this requirement. Ethical dataset transparency is a separate and mandatory compliance condition.
Unchained Music prioritizes and supports genuine human creators, including artists who meaningfully shape their work through real creative involvement, intention, and accountability to the wider ecosystem.
We support responsible, artist-driven AI augmentation. We do not distribute content generated through opaque systems with undisclosed training datasets. Our standards exist to protect copyright integrity, maintain compliance with distribution partners, and preserve the long-term sustainability of independent artists operating within lawful frameworks.
Our policy is published in advance. It is not retroactive. It is not a bait and switch. It is applied uniformly and was accessible prior to signup and again at the point of distribution, where agreement to these terms is required.
If and when platforms like Suno provide dataset transparency and independent verification of lawful training practices, we will reassess eligibility under our policy.
Until then, our position remains unchanged.

A rocky start turned me a long-term user
My initial experience with Unchained Music started off a bit rocky due to getting my releases denied because my track artworks needed to include text or some other elements.
I didn't like that, but I understand streaming platforms probably require this. Anyway, after an additional hiccup with getting my release getting falsely flagged as matching some other existing song (which was impossible, my music was completely original) I was asked to submit proof of ownership which I think is fair and was able to resolve the issue.
Even after encountering some of these things I decided to stick with them and give them a chance. I was able to get my Youtube OAC thanks to Unchained Music and I use them for all my releases from now on. Much better than Tunecore or DistroKid, and the fact that they're smaller/independent makes my support them more.

Beside that the Previous copyright owner replied as well to your support team and copied you in a email thread with the DSP where they took down the content from that company who claims they are the right holders. Upside down world, that a right holder gets a claim for his own content and this is the problem with the mainstream DSP, you all dont investigate anything, Just throw it back to the Distributor and when it gets complicated you shut down the door by closing the account.
For your next clients who will face such things make sure you follow up and reply on time before closing accounts.

I honestly love unchained music BUT
I honestly love unchained music.
I am on the free option.
I do have some stuff that I worry about such as not feeling stable with them. I feel like there were a lot of changes this year on their policies which I ultimately respect but because I'm on the free option my account was in "jeopardy", I had to reapply to keep my free account, so I did and then I got an email saying that my reapplication has been denied and then a couple hours later I got an email saying that they have accepted my reapplication and I am worried that this will happen again in the future therefor causing me a sense of instability with them. which makes me want to stop using their services.

Is there anyone who has been paid their royalties for Unchained Music because it's now 2 months I've been trying to withdraw my money but they've not yet processed it 😭😔 is there anyone who has been paid before, i just wanna know , because I'm getting scared, i don't even know if they're gonna pay me my royalties, lemme hope they're not scammers , I've already received my royalties, I'm having $600 in my Unchained Music balance which i have been trying to withdraw for the last 2 months but up to now I've not received my money,

Edit: Hi Algator Music Group. After looking more into this, we've warned you multiple times via email over successive months about artificial streaming patterns for your music, specifically on Spotify. When Spotify or another platform notifies Unchained Music of artificial streams, we will pass on that information to you in an email, including the amount of streams, artists and releases affected. Spotify and other streaming platforms do not pay for these artificial streams. If you have additional questions, please reach out to our support team.

As we mention in our FAQ below, royalties are generally paid out in the 3rd or 4th month after you distribute a release. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our support team and they'll walk you through any additional questions you have.

worst experience. They will make your life a living hell. Avoid them. Arrogant, bullies, and scammers, NEVER will they admit they have a crappy attitude and they always make excuses. No refunds, so they keep your money.
