A fabulous overall experience
I had a very large and lumpy vein treated yesterday at the Vein Clinic in Reading, it was an extremely good experience, my vascular surgeon and the 2 nurses who looked after me, couldn’t have done a better job. The procedure was not painful merely uncomfortable and this I feel, was helped by the information I was given throughout the procedure, (which only took 25 minutes) so that I was relaxed and prepared for anything that was going to be done. I have received good after care information and am so happy that my ugly vein is now gone

Vein scan & consultation
Timekeeping was excellent.
Very thorough scan and consultation.
Sonographer spent time explaining what he was going to do and explained what I was seeing on the scan screen.
The consultant went into full details about what the scan had highlighted and what treatment plan would be put in place if I chose to proceed.
Overall I couldn’t fault the service I received.

Absolutely appalling experience
Absolutely appalling experience, AVOID at all costs. Very hard sale and completely motivated by the money and not patient care at all ...I'm a medical professional myself and I have never been treated so badly in a health care setting in my life. They took my money, wasted my time, cancelled an appointment that I had planned my life around (currently in the process of moving and selling my flat so the appointment and timing of it was so important) without any valid reason. I had to raise a complaint to try and have my appointment reinstated and they refused. They didn't like it because I challenged their attempts to invoice me for having both legs treated, when I had been advised during my consultation that I would only have to pay for one. I booked the appointment for the one leg, happy to pay that fee, the day after the consultation ...they then cancelled it two weeks later and days before I was due to have the procedure based on 'a lack of trust'. I hadnt even met the clinician who was to carry out the procedure! Clearly they did not wish to proceed with just the one leg as financially it wasn't their best outcome. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and so called patient care. I'm now left in a position where I do not have the time to find an alternative before I move overseas. Honestly I am so appalled I'm considering legal action.
Please look elsewhere, this company is a money making machine with absolutely no concern for patient welfare.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your experience with UK Vein Clinic did not meet your expectations. It is always disappointing both for patients and for us, as one of the UK’s leading varicose vein clinics, when we are unable to offer treatment.
Our clinical pathway begins with a comprehensive one-hour diagnostic assessment. This includes a detailed Doppler duplex ultrasound scan followed by a consultation with a vascular doctor. In approximately 99% of cases, patients are found suitable for treatment and progress to the next stage. For the small percentage who are not suitable, we provide a full refund of all fees paid. In line with this policy, you received a full refund, along with your scan report and a copy of your medical notes.
We appreciate that your upcoming move overseas added time pressures, and we regret that we were unable to treat you beforehand. We would always encourage patients to seek assessment and treatment well in advance of significant life events to allow sufficient time for both treatment and any necessary follow-up. Whilst we've tried to find a resolution that works with you, it's unfortunate that in this instance, we've been unsuccessful.
We would also like to clarify that, unlike some clinics, we offer transparent pricing for one-leg and two-leg treatments. These costs are available on our website, it's then discussed at the enquiry stage and confirmed following the diagnostic assessment appointment. We know just how important it is for patients to be able to adequately plan and are, therefore, very clear about pricing. We are sorry if there was any misunderstanding regarding pricing in your case.

Sadly left with awful bruising
I left a review last year when I had my veins done at the UK vein clinic. I won't go back on how lovely the staff are, especially Neive who I have been in touch with who is so sweet and helpful, but, when I first had them done they looked good but nearly a year on and I've been left with the most unsightly bruising running up my legs where the veins used to be. Neive said I was told from the beginning I could be left with some bruising, I don't remember being told that but if I was I didn't envisage how bad they were going to look. I've just been on holiday and very embarrassed how my legs look. I've tried covering them up with make up but it washes off too easily. I just want to warn anyone having their veins treated that this could also happen to them. I was told it could take a year for them to fade but they are not much better. The worse part on my legs was where the blood pooled and had to be squeezed out twice, that part is more bruised. Apparently nothing can be done now. Better than the twisted lumpy veins I had, maybe but my legs look awful 😞

It was a fairly painless procedure
It was a fairly painless procedure. The doctor was efficient. The two nurses were lovely and completely put me at ease. I was given all the relative after care information. I walked in and walked out within an hour.Hopefully when all healed I should be able to wear dresses and skirts again.😊

I am very happy with the treatment
I am very happy with the treatment. From day one of my consultation to the treatment day I was very well informed and reassure about the process and what to expect . What are the risk post procedure. So far I am very happy with the clinic and the team. Everyone was so professional and polite , friendly and informative. The care I had at the clinic and the actual treatment was great. I did not feel stressed or afraid of anything.

From the initial call to the treatment, everyone was professional, informative and very detailed.
The treatment itself was pain free, the consultant explains as he proceeded, the 2 nurses very friendly and caring.
The only downside was no air conditioning, though the treatment only took half an hour it wasn’t unbearable for me but for the staff it must of been uncomfortable all day, yet they still managed to smile and remain totally professional.
Would definitely recommend.

Relaxed yet very professional …
All the staff I have spoken to have been so helpful from my first phonecall to having the ultra sound . The clinic was so relaxed yet very professional . I have been to many private clinics but the staff were so much warmer and helpful . Nothing felt like it was too much trouble . I haven’t had the treatment yet but everything crossed the care I receive continues to impress me

Straight forward scan and explanation of next step
When I arrived I was taken straight for a scan. Everything was explained clearly. I then had to wait about 15 minutes for the results and was seen by a doctor who explained what the procedure would be. Everything was made very clear. There was no sales pressure and I am waiting to get the quote.
