vermin infested storage locker after spending over £8k
After paying over £8k in storage fees we went to check on our household contents in storage in the Rugby branch only to find mouse droppings, dead mice/nest in our mattress and towels, and sofas and other goods had been nibbled and eaten by mice/rats. We were very upset but had taken out expensive insurance provided the storage company (later changed to RCS) but we are now 6 months on and no resolution to our claim so we have no sofas, mattress, bedding or rugs. We were also expected to sort through vermin infested goods on the hottest week of the year in order to make a claim. We were not allowed to remove them from the non ventilated storage room to sort which I now know is a major health risk.
The final insult was when we saw a vending machine company moving food stuffs in and out of their storage locker - wonder why there are mice. On my final visit there were mouse and rat bait boxes everywhere so looks like a wider problem than our locker. Over £8k spent, no refunds, no one seemed to care and no pay out on insurance.
