My first experiences with the tutors was acceptable. However, when a new school year started, the Tutor Doctor, by its own admission, was unable to match my children with an appropriate tutor. They offered my a refund of the balance of my money. I gave them a second chance. They eventually sent me a young girl who had to google every calculus question my daughter asked her. When they, once again, several months later and by their own admission, could not match my children with an appropriate tutor for calculus and functions, I asked for the refund they had originally offered. However, the Tutor Doctor used the fact that I gave them a second chance against me and refused to refund me. They said that offer was no longer available. Again, when I contacted them at the start of the new school year for a tutor for my son, I learned that the particular franchise had been sold. The new owner said to me, and I quote:
"I am the new owner of the Tutor Doctor franchise that you previously had an account with. According to the details on our system, this account has not had any activity since January of 2019, which is over 2 years since the last tutoring session was held. As such, the hours were forfeited and the account was closed prior to my taking ownership of this business. The policy that refers to this (from pg.2 of the Tutor Doctor Customer Enrollment Agreement – Enrollment Terms of Service):
2.TERM: The term commences on the date both parties have signed this agreement and will terminate after the fulfillment of the block of hours(as stated on page 1) subject to renewal in accordance with paragraph 4. Upon one year of inactivity on your account with Tutor Doctor, any out­standing hours that have been funded will be forfeited and your account will be closed.
I’m sorry to inform you that I will not be able to honor any credit you feel may have been owing to you from Tutor Doctor. I would, however, be happy to discuss with you the purchase of a new educational support package for your son, so that we would be able to help him with his Gr.12 Advanced Functions course. I can be reached on the number in my email signature below during our normal business hours (10am-4:00pm M-F), cheers."
The only reason there was no activity was because they could not find me a tutor. I would never contract with this Company again. Your best bet is to find smart students in higher grades of the school your child attends to tutor your child during spares or after school and pay them directly.

My daughter joined Tutor Doctor 2-3 months back and I see her benefitting immensely. The tutor has created a great rapport and has put extra effort to support my daughter. He is very flexible and genuinely caring. My daughter enjoys the sessions a lot. A big thanks to Mr Vineet Khurana...

Tutor Doctor Solihull has been great for us. The service is fantastic, they took the time to get to know my sons exact needs by assessing him. This was done in detail and then matching a tutor not only to his needs but to his personality and interest. We have had a great experience with Tutor Doctor. Fred was very engaging and showed genuine interest in getting to know our kids before choosing a tutor. He was very transparent in the importance of proper pairing and making sure that all parties felt it was a good fit. We have loved our tutor, Ms. Tanyia. We've got Tutor Doctor onboard when another tutor has failed to establish a good pace with my son and his rushing resulted in my son starting to despise the lesson. The Tutor Doctor matched us with a tutor who managed to establish a good contact with my son and find a suitable pace which helped him to regain his self-confidence and desire to learn.
I was also happy with the personal assistance of the administrators and the owner who helped us to prepare for a secondary interview and get accepted to the school of our choice !
A personal approach is the desire to understand your child's character and needs is what sets them apart from another companies. My only suggestion would be about the sessions reports which should be more timely and detailed.

Tutor Doctor took great trouble in matching the Maths tutor (Nick Harris) to my daughter for Maths tuition for her GCSE re-sit. Nick went out of his way in the sessions, and my daughter found the sessions very helpful and will hopefully get through her GCSE this summer.
David Middis, the Manager, kept in regular contact with me throughout the process by regular phone calls, and I was also kept updated with emails and text messages on the tuition sessions.
I would highly recommend this business, and especially Nick, who is an absolute star.

I really cannot say enough good things about Tutor Doctor of North Jersey and Rockland, they are that good! We have used Tutor Doctor to help both of our sons on the ACT & SAT, respectively. While their initial test/practice scores were not bad, given today’s competitive landscape, they both wanted to score higher.

We initially began to work with Tutor Doctor 3 years ago to help my older son increase his ACT scores. Through their hard work and proven methods, he was able to increase his score by 30%, allowing him to get accepted at all his chosen schools. We were so impressed by Tutor Doctors’ program, methods and choice of tutors, we did not hesitate to work with them again to help our younger son achieve as high a score as possible on his SAT. When we got back the results, we are over the moon, as he scored in the top 6% of the SAT on his first time taking it! Needless to say, we are ecstatic with our relationship with Tutor Doctor, and are so thoroughly and completely satisfied with their services.

The best part about their approach is how personalized it feels. Upon contacting Tutor Doctor, Jessica Bush (whom we adore) will schedule a meeting with the student and the parents. This is to gain a better understanding of the student in order to (a) help determine which test is best; (b) to successfully address any concerns the student or parents may have; and (c) to determine which tutor is a best fit from both a personality and goal perspective. Through this meeting, we figured out that Mark B. (whom we also adore) was the best fit for both of our sons. Mark (as well as all the tutors, I’m sure) was wonderful. His approach was fantastic - reassuring but direct. He got the best out of them without letting them goof off, all in a supportive manner. Obviously, it worked!

Also, Jessica is simply wonderful to work with. She will work with each family to come up with a plan that makes the whole process (financial, tutor selection, session scheduling, etc.) feel seamless. If you want to see a noticeable increase in the performance of your student, you’d be crazy to not let Tutor Doctor help you achieve your goals!
