Good and efficient

So far, I have a few songs mastered by Tunely. I tried mastering the songs myself, but I wasn't sure if I made the finished products the best they could be. I was having clipping, balancing, and some muddiness issues. Guess what? Tunely resolved all of that for me. Keep up the great work Tunely.

I started using tunedly a few months ago and my experience with them helping me add instruments to my song was amazing because their skills made the song sound so much better. Their mastering services is excellent as well because you receive two wave files and a summary of the mix/mastering process. I won’t hesitate to work with tunedly again.

I have had about 12 songs produced by Tunedly and I more than happy with each one. I have found them very professional and trustworthy. I would recommend Tunedly to anyone who enjoys writing original songs.

It's not always easy to entrust your songs to others but with Tunedly I have found this to be incredibly easy. I have been working with their excellent singers and musicians for several years now and have never been disappointed in the final results.Their unique step by step process allows for collaboration and as artists I have found their team to be highly creative and easy to work with. In essence Tunedly is a wonderful company with talented, friendly professionals helping to bring your songs to the next level. I feel very comfortable with Tunedly and I highly recommend them. They are the best!

I wouldn't claim to be a musician at all; I'm not even on the periphery of the periphery of musicianship. But I can come up with a simple melody line on the piano and I am good with words. So I can create songs in my head, but where do I go from there? Can the answer be on the internet somewhere? Of course it can, and after investigation up pops the Tunedly site. I like what I see and decide to give it a go. I send them my lyrics and embarrassingly awful audio clips of my piano playing and attempted singthrough of the song. After some email discussions with the musician and the mixing engineer I've chosen from their roster, and a couple of redo requests, I get a finished song that is just amazing! I can't believe it started in my head, it sounds so good. This is no doubt the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

The team reached out to me and described what he saw Tunedly becoming. He said “It’s about connecting music creators and building a collaborative platform where everyone who has the desire to make music that has any value, is allowed to take part in the creative process and produce something special that will last forever. And it doesn’t matter where you are from, or how you make music, or how talented you are musically: because you’re always in connection with people who have the skills and knowledge of how to produce good music, and you’re always able to give and get feedback via a collaboration tool"
I heard that and thought “I want to be a part of this. I want to help make this happen.” Before the 2000s, all of us had this beautiful vision of the internet. The idea of this ideal internet was that it would be a place where everyone could connect and share ideas to bring about something beautiful, without any barrier. Tunedly sounded pretty much like the same thing, but for anyone who wanted to create music. Chris and Mylène had not yet ironed out all the details, but I think they probably felt making music was not what it should be; the process was still stuck in the '80s and the '90s despite the internet making it possible for people to collaborate online. And here I was with a unique opportunity to help conceive and develop a service that would help bring music production to the modern era and fulfill that utopian perception of the internet. That was very powerful to me. I am happy to see how Tunedly is growing every day, and I enjoy working with Chris and Mylène who are true professionals.

You know what? I’ve been hearing good things about Tunedly for some time now, but I only just decided to give them a try for the heck of it. Let’s just say I wanted to prove if they were as good as described. Anyway, here’s my take:

Pros
Easy to use: Once I became a member, using the music production service was pretty simple and straightforward. I was able to easily submit my mix and describe the type of sound I was looking for. On top of that, I was told what to expect and regularly got updates explaining what was happening at each stage. And with every milestone, I got the opportunity to give the okay or to ask for changes before the next step. When the song was completed, it was easy for me to download the mix and everything was so well explained. I was super-impressed with the end result.

Excellent roster: Having checked out the roster prior to starting my project, I felt confident that my music would be in the hands of competent musicians. There are a number of accomplished singers and composers on the list and some have even worked with big name stars. Not that that was particularly important to me, but knowing you have access to someone who has worked on a Justin Bieber hit or who was part of a Take That or other major band is quite reassuring.

Collaborative experience: One of the ways using Tunedly was different from other online music studios was the collaborative nature. Usually, I would tell them what I want and I would only hear back when the track was ready. With Tunedly, however, it was an immersive and collaborative experience from start to finish. I felt involved in the entire process as I was allowed to listen to the ideas and opinions of the musicians while sharing my own perspective. Two heads are truly better than one and with most songs being created by multiple songwriters and musicians nowadays, this collaborative aspect of the Tunedly platform shows they are really in tune with what’s happening in the music industry and the needs of people like me.

Responsiveness: I might have hinted at this already, but it’s worth mentioning again. The Tunedly staff was quite responsive to all my queries and I never felt like I didn’t know what was happening at any point.

Cons
Only that I wish Tunedly had been around years ago. Now that I have had such a good experience, I will be letting them handle all my music production needs going forward. I might even try out their song plugging service and see if I get lucky ☺.

I have to say that my experience with Tunedly was outstanding.
Being able to talk to and work with the project manager is so cool.
And he listened to everything I thought from start to finish, and as I kept changing lyrics or fine tuning right to the end, this was a priceless service, unequaled by other.

I cannot recommend Tunedly more highly. The team have been very responsive, creative and diligent. I have been using them for over 18 months and am very happy indeed with their service.

I recently invested in Tunedly. I did so because of my positive experiences in getting my songs produced into fully professional versions, using new technologies. I have been pleased and recommend Tunedly.

I've had nothing but good experiences with tunedly. I've got my favourites such as Claude Etienne, Josiah, Mella and Liesa, but Dusty, Christopher Burke, have all been a great help. And Chris Erhardt has been nothing but helpful whenever needed.

Tunedly is a cool idea. You pay a guy around 600 dollars (unless you pay for a membership, then its cheaper) to produce a 3 minute song that will surely impress the friends and family. Initially I was so excited I signed up for a membership ($100 a month) and had a few songs submitted. However, the entire process was so disappointing I cancelled my membership and cried silently as I realized I wasted nearly 500 dollars on a song I will keep buried deep on my hardrive.

For that amount of money you can literally buy an entire studio set-up and record all the songs you want yourself. For the amount I paid I was extremely disappointed with the turn out. In fact, nearly 3 months later I still haven't received the final version of my song. You're only offered 1 revision , so if you have any sort of creative vision for your song then your hard-pressed to get it right on the first go. No disrespect to my project manager, he is a totally competent musician and in a different context we could have made a great tune. But Tunedly's guidelines don't allow for much collaboration, and unfortunately even the little things turned out to be a major problem.

I recommend you save your money and either buy your own studio equipment, or try an alternative website and do the same thing for hundreds of dollars less. In the end I cut my losses and did both, and after recording my own version I sent it to some incredible freelance musicians for the mix and mastering. The entire process took about a week, and the song turned out even better than I could have imagined. What's even better is that the total cost of both the studio equipment and the freelance work was still LESS than what I paid for Tunedly. If your a musician or have any emotional attachment to your song, then I would recommend you use something else.

As for the rest:

DO NOT let anybody tell you it will take upwards of $10,000 to produce radio-ready songs. This is completely untrue, and the fact is NO new artist could ever realistically ever afford that. The reality is you can replicate "radio ready" songs for not even a fraction of that price. I bought my initial set up online for $229. (Mic, headphones and audio interface) My keyboard was around $150 and my software cost $100. I have a laptop I use for school for my software and my guitar was a hand me down. (thanks dad) Lastly, the freelance work I purchased was around $100 total. ($45 for vocals and $65 for mastering) In total, my set up is around $500 and it does just fine. I recorded my song at my local studio, (my city has free slots on the weekdays) but you can honestly record it in your bedroom and it wouldn’t be that different. you can just use free plug-ins for the noise filtering. The fact is you don't need fancy equipment to produce a high quality song, this is completely false and a shameful way to discourage young musicians.

Ah yes, the demo recordings. One of them was so bad it was almost insulting and completely unusable. The other I only recieved a MONTH later, after which I had already started the paid version of the song. You're actually paying $100 a month for "free" demo recordings. I wouldn't bother wasting time with these.

I did actually come back to Tunedly with the revised track from my singer. On June 17th I sent the REVISED lyrics in a WAV. file to my project manager to no reply. Actually as of July 31st, I still have not received a completed song from Tunedly. This is nearly 3 months later. Not that I'm mad though, I just assumed we all had called it a day and moved on to other things.

Tunedly wrote: "Clients are offered one revision per part."

Each instrument is included with a revision, that is correct. The problem is my song is entirely dependent on the piano, so after a failed 2nd revision there was no point in even continuing the song. This could be fixed if Tunedly would include their clients in the song making process or at least increase the allowed revisions. There is no collaboration, even though making music is supposed to be a collaborative process. You have to explain everything to your project manager through text and it's incredibly difficult to translate exactly what you want. I had actually requested to call my project manager for the 2nd revision (which he graciously accepted) and tried my best to describe what I wanted. He sent the 2nd revision, but I realized we just weren't on the same page. If Tunedly would allow us to be more involved in the actual making of our song, then it would be a thousand times better. Instead you have to sit back and hope your project manager gets it right. If he/she doesn’t, well then you're plain out of luck.

In summary:

If you just want somebody to do it for you and don't really care too much on the details, then Tunedly is just fine. I am not saying don't use their service; I am saying it's not for everyone. If you're a musician or aspiring musician, I can't recommend Tunedly. For those who want a fun song for the friends and family, then have at it.

This is probably thanks to my best man who recommended this site to me, but I want to thank Tunedly! My proposal back then was a success! I wrote a song but heck, I did not know how to play guitar, even sing! With Tunedly, they brought out the best in my song, I played it to my fiancee and she still loves it now.

I've always thought my songwriting dream will just always be a dream. Thanks to Tunedly, I have been able to access the services of world-class musicians which I never thought would be possible. With years of experience behind Tunedly team and its hand-picked musicians, you can be sure that your song will be presented in the best possible light. I am very pleased with the quality of songs that they have professionally produced for me. Hats off to the team - could not recommend them highly enough.

As an aspiring Song Writer, I am so glad I found Tunedly quite by chance, online one day. They were exactly what I was looking for and the perfect avenue for me to develop as a writer, and also create fantastic demos with a very talented cross-section of musicians. I like that they also offer other avenues of support for new Writers/Artists in both professional development and industry exposure or opportunities. I have found Tunedly to be a unique and highly professional way to create and record music on line, and very on top of their game in all aspects of what they do and offer!

I have now finished 8 songs through tunedly! Every one of them have been fun and has turned out well. The quality is top notch, and you choose the musicians and mixers you want. I would recommend this route for anyone who can not afford the several thousand dollars it would cost to go into a studio. You won't be dissapointed!

Excellent music production; very very reasonable pricing. I struggled as an amatuer songwriter to go from point A (gargeband quality) to point B (professional quality). I consider myself lucky in having found Tunedly.

I really like all the demos I had done with Tunedly. Tunedly has great musicians and vocalists. Tunedly wants my demos to be right for me which the demos always have been produced correctly.
