This was the holiday of a lifetime and we were so glad we used TravelLocal to help us arrange it. After the initial enquiry we dealt exclusively with their local agent in Sri Lanka who were superb. They ensured the holiday was really special and were very committed to ensuring we had a great time.
Special praise must go to our chauffeur and guide who accompanied us for 14 days. We had never travelled like this before but it was wonderful. Our driver was more of a friend with great local knowledge - he was fun, helpful, a super driver and very flexible. I had been concerned we might feel restricted but not at all - the programme was well planned and anything we wanted to add or drop on the way was easily accommodated.
When we encountered one small problem on the way it was reassuring to know we had the support of this local team who resolved it quickly.

When initially planning the itinerary I thought I was being super efficient in sending a long email with all my ideas and lists of things I wanted to do/not do etc. But with hindsight this might have been a bit overwhelming. Once I broke down my requests into smaller chunks the perfect itinerary came together quickly.

Initially, this ‘all-inclusive’ chauffeur option might seem expensive but we realised that they do get good local rates on hotels. Further, when compared to some other tours it is important to note that this is a private tour (not part of a group) and all the food (where requested in advance) and activities were included in the price. This made a big difference. When we were on the island we were surprised at the cost of individual tours that could be booked locally but were all included within our price. So overall, I think it represented good value. And the comfort and reassurance of having a private driver/guide cannot be overstated.

the trip organized by Travel local went great. all so smooth from the drivers, on time, polite and experienced, to the excellent tour guides to the Zocalo, the Museo Archaeologo, Teotihuacan.

We had 3 weeks to see Australia and the trip Rebecca set up for us did a terrific job of hitting the highlights. We had a fabulous trip with many excellent tours. We had a number of weather related cancellations of our tours. We ended up booking a replacement tour in Cairns on our own. A little more proactive help from our travel agent would have been appreciated. In Melbourne we did a night tour to see the penguins and an all day tour the next day that had an early start. That meant a short night of sleeping. If the penguin tour was the day after the Great Ocean Road tour, we would not have had the short night. We had no issues making our flights as we bounced around Australia, so that set of logistics was spot on. We found we had enough open time to stop by Hobbiton. Had no idea we needed advance reservations. The first available slot was too late for us to take it. So, a few small things that could have been better. Overall, the trip plan was superb.

Travel Local connected us to a agency in Hanoi (LUX Travel DMC) for our 12-day family vacation. Trip was fantastic with tons of memories.

Fully customized the trip working through several iterations of the itinerary via email and What App meeting. Agency still managed to blow us away several time and fully exceeded our expectations.

Viagea worked with us on a self drive tour of Sicily and booked fun activities, a few tours and fit it all together for a very smooth trip around the entire island. When things went sideways on the flight over and we missed our connection they contacted the first hotel for us and canceled the first tour. When we had a couple questions along the way they got back to us immediately. The accommodations they booked were lovely - some deep inside cities, and others outside at agritourismos. All of them unique. The highlights were the cooking class in Ortigia, the bike trip to Favignana and walking thru Giardino dell'impossibile, and a last minute change of guides for a food tour in Castelbuono turned out to be a blessing. Our guide, Laetitia, gave us the right amount of history and plenty of sweets to try. But the best part was driving out of town and walking up to her and Marco's hilltop retreat for delectable treats made by Marco, and learning about their manna trees. I would highly recommend Viagea travel and Jean Pierre along with Sara as a wealth of information.

Our driver Muhammad Suleiman. He was patient and very accommodating to all our requests. Muhammad was there to intervene when we could not communicate or resolve a situation. We are profoundly grateful to him.

One thing I would like to add is that some of the places we stayed were not good or at least not what we expected. Riad Darziana in Fes, the room smelled bad, we were given a spray to mitigate. The service at the Al Walid Hotel in Casablanca was awful, poor. One bath towel for two. When requested it took them more than 40 minutes to bring it. It was late. I do not recommend this hotel. They stopped me when we were leaving and wanted me to pay for the reservation. I had to show them the reservation and voucher.

We had a great trip to Japan. The booking process was convenient with easy and frequent contact with Mina our contact. The Travel Book, detailing each day of the trip, including travel, booked excursions, and suggested sites was excellent. Delivery of required things like vouchers and tickets was flawless. Each of the local guides were excellent. The daily text from Mina was especially helpful, including such specific things as precise train schedules for the next leg of our journey.

My only suggestions are 1) although each of the hotels was well appointed, the size of hotel rooms were very small. One so small that it was impossible to open up more than one suitcase at a time on the floor. I would suggest more detail about this. Second, I would recommend that Nara be added to the suggested sites to visit. It under an hour from Osaka. Well worth the trip.

In summary, Mina and her colleagues made this a very enjoyable trip.

Our initial contact, Veronica with Travel Local made it easy to plan our trip that fit well with our interests and our desires. Once we arrived in Mexico City everything worked smoothly and our local contact, Eduardo was prompt and flexible with making some changes to our itinerary. Guides were knowledgeable and fun.

I cannot recommend the provider enough. Diem was amazing from the very start in building a dream itinerary, making practical suggestions and reassuring me. She was also so patient with all my nervous questions! During the trip Diem & Hoa provided support throughout. It made me feel really safe as a solo female traveller. The communication to keep me updated was faultless. The itinerary and activities were varied and beautiful. I am so grateful to have worked with such a great team and have a truly magical experience with my first Asia visit in Vietnam. Thank you!

We had a great time with Memphis Tours in Egypt. It wasn’t until my visit to Egypt that I learned the word Memphis originated in Egypt. We did not have to worry about any step of the way. From airport pickup, checkin, tours, restaurants, etc. Communication was excellent. They were flexible and accommodating. All the tour guides were knowledgeable although a few were exceptional. Khaled O. was one of them. I liked that we can also individualize the tour making it uniquely ours. I would say make sure to learn more about the tourism industry in Egypt prior to going to be aware. The vendors can be pretty aggressive in trying to get your business. Respectful but still too forceful per my taste. Also learn more about the tips highly recommended prior to coming if you are on a budget. Expect that it adds 10-20% to tour price depending on your generosity or capacity. Hope this helps!

We worked with Olman to create a good itinerary - just the right balance to not make each day too hectic while seeing amazing Costa Rica.
The tour operators - Amazilia Travels, North Adventures, Canoa Aventura, Aventuras El Lago, Selvatura, Monteverde Experts, were very pleasant, punctual and efficient.
The accommodation that was chosen in all the places had a right combination of clean rooms and properties, courteous staff, great food.

One of the days - a visit to Cano Negro near the Nicaragua border - didn't do it for us. Not much to see that we would not have seen in other attractions on the trip. But we did get to see that part of the countryside which was enjoyable.

Die Reiseroute in Indien war gut gewählt und die Organisation vor Ort lief bestens. Die örtlichen Reiseführer und auch der Busfahrer haben uns sehr gut betreut.

Anish and his team were very professional and excellent in creating a 2 week holiday for us. A private driver took us all around Nepal and we had private guides at each stop showing us the highlights.

The trip was everything you could hope for. I experienced Patagonia at a soul deep level and it was my organizers who ensured that was the case. Lu was fantastic. Every day tour was perfect for me. There were many moving parts to my trip and all were managed perfectly. I travel a great deal, this was the best trip ever.

travel local put us in contact with Ingrid in Croatia. She was wonderful. She crafted the best trip ever. All of the drivers and tour guide guides were perfect. Very smart very engaged. The cooking class was outrageously fun and good and overall, the trip was flawless.

The area itself is spectacular. Sorrento was a beautiful place to base our trip. Serena made some great choices and recommendations. Our guides were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Drivers were on time, skilled, and efficient. I would highly recommend using Travel Local to plan a trip, and if given the opportunity, would definitely use this company and Serena again.

Die Reise war individuell vorbereitet, ganz nach unserem Wunsch und Reiseziel und mit sehr engagierten Menschen vor Ort geplant. Es gab tatsächlich keine Probleme, alles funktionierte nach Plan. Super war, dass wir im Vorfeld alle Fragen und Probleme per WhatsApp und Emails lösen konnten und eigentlich auch dann den Urlaub in vollen Zügen genießen könnten.
Das beste war die Reisemappe mit genauen Wegbeschreibungen zu jeder Lodge, als unser Navi trotz WIFI dongle ausfiel.
Ausserdem haben wir viele gute Reistipps aus unserer Mappe genutzt und so den größten Meteoriten der Welt gesehen, unterwegs Straußen-Nester gesehen, weil wir die Empfehlungen mit Abstechern und Aktivitäten sehr genossen haben.

Everything was perfectly scheduled! We really enjoyed our trip and recommend them to everyone!
