I worked as a freelance translator with Translate.com for approximately four years, consistently delivering projects and maintaining availability for urgent assignments.
My experience was generally positive in terms of workflow and flexibility. However, toward the end of the collaboration, communication became less consistent, and I did not receive further updates regarding project availability.
Overall, while the platform offers flexibility, more consistent communication with freelancers would improve the experience.

Very Bad Experience, I used this three years ago and got at least enough characters on the free plan the reset every 24 hours, even though it was still rate limited per month, now it got changed to 500 characters and is pretty useless, can't even translate efficiently anymore

After my last assignment in January, I was suddenly ignored with no explanation. After multiple attempts to contact them, I received a generic response about internal reorganization, but no real clarification or follow-up.
Since then, they have stopped responding again.
Being treated this way after years of professional collaboration is disappointing and reflects poorly on their communication with freelancers.

Unfortunately, I fell into their trap. I worked with this company on and off, accepting ridiculous rates (under $0.05/word) and their payment policy (they don't pay anything under $20). The end customer, however, has to pay between $0.07 and $0.18 per word. Unbelievable! Another company to join the growing list of companies to stay away from. My account has been stuck at $8 for two years, and despite my repeated requests for payment (and subsequent intention to close my account), support first doesn't respond, then pretends to help, and nothing changes. Stay away from this company and their sister companies (Emerge Media, Digital Future).

From my perspective, this service helped out team run a global marketing campaign. We used Translate.com to adapt social posts into multiple languages. Everything stayed true to our brand voice. NGL, I was skeptical before, but after seeing the results, I'm convinced it was the best move. Our overseas clients appreciated the localized approach.

Let me break it down—if you need official docs translated, this is a solid choice. I had to get my birth certificate and bank statements translated, and they were accepted without any issues. No errors, no delays, just smooth service. If I’m honest, the price isn’t the cheapest, but you get what you pay for—quality! I’d rather pay a bit more for peace of mind.

I have paid and received file translated incorrect.

This company is not honest I ended some tea saltion from polish to the web page and mi college in Poland told me this is some strange translation and some words are not even in polish. Them send invoice 1 time week and I told them I don’t pay for someting ho can damage my reputation online if I believe everiting is correct. I DONT WELL PAY and please stop to say about lawyer etc etc. because if you don’t stop I we’ll publish every where on media how fraud and fake your services FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE

The first time I used their services, it looked like no human was involved in 5 of 6 languages and I had to file a complaint. Had something more decent after that.
I thought I'ld give them a second chance. They promise 2 hours completion time. It is now the 3rd day and I still have nothing. I wrote to the customer support. They say everything is ready. But their website says my orders are "pending", I cannot download anything and nobody seems to care either. I will not give them a third chance.

I needed to translate a document with technical words and terms about web development for a new client. I tried several services, and this one turned out to be the most suitable!
The quality of the translation is top-notch, and the cost is the best on the market at only $0.08 per word.
So if you need a high-quality translation, I recommend this service. Unfortunately, Google Translate can't compare to it in the near future.

What I appreciated most about the translation agency was their willingness to go above and beyond to meet my needs. They provided regular updates on the progress of the translation, and they were always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had. In addition, they offered competitive pricing that was well within my budget, and the final products were delivered on time and without any errors.

The translation was not done by real people. I mean...it was, but they used Deepl and Google Translate for that. They forgot to delete the sign "Translated with Deepl" from the file. I did ask for my money back, but they just promised a revision "done by their best experts." Three days later - they just stopped replying to my messages. No revision was done.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE FOR YOUR TRANSLATIONS!!!!

They advertise on their website that deliveries for their professional (paid service) is within 2 hours, however when they fail to deliver within this timeframe they claim the 2 hours is only an approximation.

I needed a last minute translation and paid them the price advertised on the webpage. They failed to get it to me on time so I was unable to get the permit that I needed the translation for.

When I wrote requesting my money back, as they hadn't fulfilled the terms of their contract - this was their response (verbatim).

"We understand it.
But kindly note that you haven't notified us about your order urgency.
Two hours is the approximate turnaround time for translation.
Due to this matter, your refund request will be rejected.
Regards,"

I wrote to them twice and gave them 2 opportunities to comply with the law regarding the sale of goods and services - they have absolutely no intention of fulfilling any legal contracts they make - so consider yourselves warned. This is not a professional organization - IT'S AN ONLINE SCAM! Don't throw any of your money away on them. Find another translation service.

Translate.com is a terrible app, I am warning you. Don’t try it. I just tried doing some translating, and everything was all different levels of wrong. Even the information about the language was wrong, and even if I am the only person who is saying this, just please, don’t go onto this website, it’s just rubbish.

The pay is low but considering that you are working without specialization and mainly fixing an automatic translation is understandable. Leaving aside the fact that it takes weeks if not more to get to the minimum withdrawal of $ 20, when you want to withdraw you have to "contact the support" that somehow manages to extend the withdrawal time by days/weeks. Paypal transactions are immediate then the conclusion is? Come paid 0.01 $ per word and you're not sure to receive payment, practically you're working for free.

Update: the payment has arrived

I have been working at Translate since 2017 and can share only the positive experience. The support team of the company is really professional and it is just a pleasure to work with such experts. Any of the requests addressed were responded fast. Moreover, I can surely say that with this company it is more than possible to provide for a family, go on vacation and have time for entertainments since your work is fairly compensated and the workload is more than enough. I have a tip: the more languages you know, the more languages pairs you can choose, the more money you earn. The thing I love the most is that the company really cares about the translators.
