The site's features and functions are good and work for it's intended purpose, however the issues come from the fact that this site is only run and moderated by a single person, and they're negligent in their site management duties to extreme levels, inconsistent with enforcing the site's official rules and refuses to bring in more admins and moderators to help manage things.

The site's community is extremely toxic, discriminatory, quick to savagely dogpile users over minor mistakes/misunderstandings, will hate and block you just for existing and crawling with scammers, trolls, art and character thieves, harassment and other weirdos that shouldn't have a platform as a result of the complete lack of active staff and moderators, the existing admin won't even lift a finger to do anything about the serious community issues or child endangerment that's present and actively happening on their site when it's reported with undeniable proof.

The only reports they ever seem to respond to and do anything about involve removing people's characters that were inspired by an existing canon character from popular media and punishing the owner of the character without a second thought or even bothering to check the validity of the report, characters that follow the site's official rules as written to the very letter aren't safe from being wrongfully removed as a result of a false/malicious report from a petty user, this is very hypocritical as the admin themselves owns blatant ripoffs of canon league of legends characters on their personal account. It seems to be a rule for thee but not for me situation, very unprofessional.

The vile community culture isn't just contained to toyhouse's site proper, there are 'toyhouse drama' blogs that exist offsite that people anonymously contribute to and use to incite harassment, bullying and attempts to tarnish the reputations and cause mass blocking of innocent users by spreading lies and misinformation just because they personally don't like that user or their art/characters, or they want to see someone torn down over a small mistake/misunderstanding or something really stupid such as different interests in harmless media (good luck if you're a genshin impact, hazbn hotel or harry potter fan, the toyhouse woke mob really hates people for simply liking or having an interest in these properties) and there's nothing the unfortunate target of this cyberbullying can really do to block, report or otherwise defend themselves from the culprits because it's anonymous and happening outside of toyhouse. These drama blogs really highlight the childish school yard bully and clique mentality this community has.

Keep your kids and vulnerable folks away from this hellsite, the userbase and lack of staff is a serious danger and all the petty, entitled, hateful, childish hair trigger drama will leave your mental health in the gutter.

I submitted a report about a groomer who had a document written about them. Told the moderator the person who made the document had comments on their profile of the offenders friends confirming the Discord screenshots ARE from them, the response I get? "We don't moderate on the basis of Discord screenshots. MAYBE I'll review it if you have proof from ToyHouse." I told them grooming is a serious thing whenever or not it happened on site and they removed my ability to reply to the ticket. 🙂

i wish i could give 0 stars. i was harassed and threatened on different social medias by multiple people from here for weeks for a genuine mistake that i made during psychosis, mental illness isn’t an excuse but it wasn’t malicious. i got a psa written about me claiming that i “doxxed” someone for showing their name and nothing else, even though it was an accident and had no malice. i had to live in constant paranoia for weeks DURING PSYCHOSIS that i would be doxxed and people would hurt my family from the threats i got because they think i’m a malicious doxxer. horrible community that loves drama and destroying other people’s lives and don’t care about how serious accusations can harm someone, to the point that there’s multiple tumblr blogs users have made just to talk about how horrible it is. i don’t know why anyone uses this site, after this experience i am never returning

Honestly, if there were more than one mod, a lot of things would improve. As well as removing service reviews that aren’t about services. Most of the time, service reviews are just used to harass people over fiction. Yes, you read that right. I get feeling uncomfortable with some things being depicted, but what does that have to do with what the artist is providing? What does that have to do with anything but your own discomfort. Such things should be taken down, as it’s been out of hand for a while.

Writing this under a fake email cause the mod seems to ban people for speaking out but I wouldn't really recommend even trying with tickets on toyhouse as ONE mod runs the whole thing and it takes HOURS for said mod to even reply I know life can get busy but my account was just banned not long ago for making a ticket but if I can get said account back I will be moving my characters off site so I can keep track of their art as that's what I use toyhouse for

great for detailed oc information, or adopting, but never sell, and never expand further past that while on this site, keep any and all interaction with users to a near zero, moderation is non-existent, and basically like kiwi farm, but on the down low, since you need a code to even join toy house.
Im writing this anonymously because of how far out reached the admins are, I've seen people get banned, everything wiped just because of fair criticism, no warnings, no nothing, and certinally no restoration of any art, story's, or money you get from it through buying or selling.
Use a different site, and toyhouse admin, just try to find me, go ahead, just try.

Solid site. Works exactly as it is intended to. Many people speak of toxicity and shit but i’ve had no issues with that in my roughly four years using the site. Don’t act like it’s something it’s not and it’s a fine site.

My only interaction with the moderators thus far has been when i’d been in the wrong decisively. I do not understand the issues so many have with it.

Was great, had fun with my friend. I loved creating stories and coding profiles, that was until I was banned with no warning. Turns out I was being banned because back 4-5 years ago when I had made my account at the age of 13, something I had long forgotten about. I lied about the year, not the month and date. I sent an email explaining that the month and date were still correct and that the actual year was 2007 and that I'd be turning 18 later on this year, however, the admin isn't that good at their job and ignored my email as they do with many others it would seem based off of what I'vevheard from many others.

Truthfully, I believe that the moderator may need to get checked in on, as they don't ban / suspend very popular artist who publicly post NSFW content constantly including references, casual art, and shipart which can be seen by minors. I'm still banned, however, I can still see character profiles as a guest, needless to say, there are still tons of NSFW that I see daily.

I've been flashed by tits and ass constantly, not only that but implied penises (tentacles). I'm very disappointed with how unprofessional and biased this admin is, and truthfully, they need to get more admins that actually take care of people who go against the terms.

It's not okay simply having one on a platform, that has thousands of people, one person can't deal with all of that pressure, no matter how much you lie to yourself or let your ego get to your head. You may feel accomplished getting rid of 5 people who go against the terms per day even though there's hundreds more doing much worse. You need a team to actually responds to people at a reasonable time especially in the case if there's hacked accounts and the person has to email you and you simply ignore the email because you don't check it.

I'm feeling very inclined to email the admin my government ID for proof of my age with unnecessary info blurred out to fix this little problem as I saw nothing in the rules saying otherwise that I cannot, however, I doubt they'd see it.

In conclusion, the admin needs to improve on how they work their job and everyone I've known online that has experiences with them has said as much but keeps it under wraps as to not get perma banned as supposedly the admin will act irrationally sometimes. Not sure of the validity of that, however, I can say that they are unprofessional and needs a better set up with how they work things.

I'll be honest, I do not hate the mod. What they've done is quite impressive with creating a great website, coding everything, that's truthfully great. However, they aren't the best admin and would likely be better off just coding websites for people. They should either get a team of mods, or just pass the mantle onto someone else who can handle the job.

When you have hundreds of people saying you suck at your job, you likely suck at your job and need to investigate the problem and fix it instead ignoring a growing issue and letting it fester.

As a former user, it’s very tricky to navigate through the site with a lot of settings just to create your original characters and species.
The prices for drawn images cost more than a snack, just go to creators who don’t overcharge for an image… unless you’re playing for a set, that’s different.
It’s invite only by seeking for codes, not just account deletions taking a while to happen. And if your account gets removed by your request, it says banned instead of deleted which is inaccurate.

I also wouldn’t really recommend using it on the long run if you’re someone who prefers touchscreen devices.

Neat 'little' site that id just really doing what it needs to do. Storeage of my oc's lol.
I personally do not use it as a socusl media platfofm. Simply because (thankfully) it is not. There is a way of sociolizing in the forums and all and through bulletins, comments and PM's. But if you're looking for evrn more docisl media, it's not there.

My account was permanently banned on the grounds of "harassment" and "theft" when I was reported by individuals who decided to accuse me falsely of such deeds.
I am thus unable to retrieve my characters, art and coding which I spent hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours on.
Many attempts were made to reach out to the site admin to solve this issue but I have been ghosted.
I attempted to create an alt account to access the forums to request aid and advice, it was banned as well for no reason.

ive been here since 2018, not a single meaningful change added to character creation for almost 7 years, at this point just stop gatekeeping css behind premium and drop the invite code garbage
the community is very enclosed, people keep having their characters deleted with little to no explanation, getting a hold of the mods is straight up impossible

I in no way violated the website’s policies but was the victim of a phony mass report campaign by another user. My account was permanently banned without any recourse to argue/dispute the claims. All of my work is gone. I’ve lost everything I added to that site over the last few years. I’m absolutely devastated and I’m contacting a lawyer.

If ur planning to use the site for just storing ur ocs then it's amazing! There's quite a lot of customization options and there are plenty of free html code to make everything look nice! However the people on there are horrible, absolutely horrible. Say or phrase one thing wrong and ur done for. The people on there are brutal and just straight up toxic and abusive. There are some good people but the website is run by one single mod who refuses to hire more people. I feel like people can just report anything and the mod will take it down even if the report isn't justified. The forums are a horrible place. I have had so many people do horrible stuff and when I called them out I got framed for discriminating against systems/people with DID. People will haras u for having a DNI list but will also hate u for not having one? People will also hate u for not being clear enough on ur DNI list but when u actually are specific suddenly people will accuse u of being discriminating? I also had people just straight up steal my ocs and sell them and toyhouse did nothing but change the credits like the person was allowed to stay despite me having so much proof??? Yet some people will get banned for the most stupidest thing???

However they're very strictly against ai and the block function work AMAZINGLY

Moderation against theft, bullying, abuse, and CSEM is nonexistent. Gangstalking and doxxing is common at this point. Find somewhere else if you value your safety.

This place is pretty nice since I began using it in 2017. I can store my characters and even give follow ups to my stories (I made one of them a series even). Sometimes I have issues when I accidentally refresh and I lose all my progress, but that's an issue by my side. I don't get others saying that they find lots of drama, call outs and toxicity, I perceive you may get all of that by your choice, you choose who to follow and authorize and who not, maybe because I'm just for myself and a very small circle of friends and followers who are most of the time pretty quiet and chill? But yeah, as far as I know you can choose way better and personalize who follows you and who you follow way better

Overall it's a great site. I also suggest you to have a local registry just in case, but even after 7 years of using it I've had no issues

Honestly loved this site for a while! until i was banned. Then it was awful. There is little to no ways to reliably get a hold of the singular admin, and when you are banned your characters and all of your art and images are just gone.

Ok, don't get me wrong, the site is great, I've made friends there who are amazing people, it's a decent and easy to use space for your characters and to trade, but the community, the moderation, and the admin all kinda suck

Community: While I haven't had much drama about me on Toyhouse, the community is still somewhat mean and hostile to me. Yes, I've met a lot of nice and amazing people, but some are absolute a-holes
Moderation: THE MODERATION SUCKS. I've seen people not get their issues solved from YEARS AGO that have still not been resolved and it pisses me off. They've also been, WITHOUT WARNING, mass deleting characters and closing profiles. My profile got closed from something over a YEAR AGO. My account was closed September 2024 but I had it for a little over a year. Also, the moderation is poor about situations such as, character theft, stolen art, scams, adults showing minors porn, etc. The site needs to work on that and actually TRY to keep minors safe. A LOT of the community is minors. Also recently they started blocking guest accounts from viewing anything on ToyHouse. Which for me means I can't log into my account from another device and I can't log out of my account or I won't be able to log back in ever again

The admin: While yes, I understand the site is run by a singular person, (|Lulu/Sudo), they honestly suck at their job. I personally think they should have more admins/mods and SHOULD ACTUALLY HEAR PEOPLE OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND NOT GHOST THEM. I sent in several tickets and emails about my account asking for my characters/art back and they haven't. They didn't even respond back to my mom when she sent an email. I understand they might be tired of peoples crap, but try to hear people out and if it's not for character theft, tracing, or making copyrighted characters your OCs, let people get their characters back.

Overall: The site sucks unless you plan on using just for characters storage and not communicating/trading with people. The moderation is horrible and the admin basically does nothing to help people. If you're looking for characters storage, I'd suggest characterhub or Unvale for that. Not as simple, but the site moderation is better and so is the community (as far as I've seen)

A great place to sort your original characters and story but there is an issue that I'm not happy with.
I submitted a page that I worked on for an hour and I received an error message about the image that I attached to the page being too large for the server. Instead of giving me the chance to fix the image, my hard work was deleted instead. I'm devastated and upset.
