Definitely a 5 ⭐️review for Thistle Paws Rescue from start to finish of the process. Well organised and there for us every step of the way from our first show of interest to our Home Check to the actual delivery of Maya. The logistics of getting these dogs to Scotland from Romania all depends on the volunteers who have worked as a team, from the shelters in Romania, to the drivers who undertook a long journey with the dogs and to the volunteers here who kept us updated the whole journey, even now checking in on us a few days later to see how they're doing. Couldn't fault them.
If you're thinking about a rescue dog, I would say go for it and if you're in Scotland go through Thistle Paws Rescue

Amazing experience!!

Everyone at thistle paws was very knowledgeable and supportive from the get go, and clearly do their very best for the dogs. We were kept up to date every step of the way before her arrival, and once she arrived, we were given plenty of support and advice.

Thistle Paws also set up a lovely adopter group which helped us to see how other families were getting on afterwards.

The team at TPR are so supportive, right from our initial enquiry about our dog, to now. They have been very thorough in checking we understood what it takes to adopt a rescue and gave us confidence. We were sent updates and photos etc and kept in the loop about the next steps all the way through. And now we have an amazing wee dog with us :D Can't fault this process!

This is an excellent rescue organisation that ensures potential adopters are well-informed of what the adoption process entails and what to expect once the adoption is completed. Loads of helpful, relevant information is provided as well as ongoing support throughout. Their attention to the welfare of the dogs is impressive and reassuring. It's great to see photos of the dogs on arrival at their new home - they all look in good condition and are happy. Absolutely wonderful people providing a much-needed opportunity for these dogs to have a better life.

We recently adopted a 5 month old puppy from Romania called Koda through Thistle Paws Rescue.

Louise at the rescue was so helpful throughout the entire process and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the dogs and ensuring they go to a good and prepared home. Our home check was carried out by Alix who was extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable.

We were constantly kept informed about any changes, progress, etc with Koda, especially when he was leaving Romania to come to his forever home.

Now that we have Koda at home, Thistle Paws have kept in contact to ensure everything is going smoothly and it's a massive relief to know they are there for advice or to discuss any concerns with.
