I was recommended to the Stoneygate Eye Hospital and had cataract surgery in both eyes – a fortnight apart in August 2026. The procedure was painless and I am now able to see “Dashboard to Horizon” without glasses, which I had needed for over 35 years. I still need spectacles for reading – but only for close work.
I thoroughly recommend Stoneygate to anyone who is contemplating treatment to their eyes.
The whole ethos is friendly, welcoming, helpful and very professional. The Patient is put at ease and there is attention to detail from the moment one arrives to the final signing off at the end of the treatment. Even then, they stress that if one has any questions, worries or other problems in the future, to go back and see them.
Following surgery, one has aftercare information which includes an emergency 24-hour helpline with a consultant ophthalmologist in case of any queries/problems. I made a call and was instantly reassured that what I was experiencing was normal.
I was told by friends who have had cataract surgery in the past, including one at Stoneygate, that “there is nothing to worry about.” They were absolutely right and I recommend Stoneygate to anyone.

I was treated for eyelid surgery by Mr Sampas. I was seen immediately upon arrival, and the service and care by the nurses and administration was exceptional. The whole procedure was done with immense care for my well being whilst being operated on. Mr Sampas was immensly reassuring and so proficient. The instructions for after care were explained thoroughly and all the staff encountered were very friendly indeed. I was not nervous or apprehensive about the whole procedure. My recovery has been swift and with no side effects whatsoever. I thoroughly recommend Stoneygate for all eye related issues.

Very pleased with my treatment by Mr Savant (consultant), Roshni (optometrist) and Roby (nurse) and receptionists. All gave me clear instructions and made me feel very comfortable.

This was my second procedure and as before everything was first class. Everyone was very professional, helpful & caring. Nurse Robey was especially so. In the last 18 months / 2 years I have been a patient at Stoneygate Eye Hospital for three operations / treatments - one eye lid surgery and two BCC removal operations. When I arrived for an examination for my eye operation, it was drawn to my attention that I had a BCC on my forehead that needed urgent attention. Serendipity was a word to describe this - the surgeon was an eye speciaist but also specialised in BCC removals. It was agreed that I would have both operations on the same day. Several weeks later on a routine post -op visit the surgeon noticed the signs of another BCC on my eyebrow. This also was removed at a later date. My whole experience has been positive in relating to any member of staff - polite, friendly, welcoming and efficient. I would have no hesitation in asking for their help on any future occasion.

What an amazing experience from start to finish, the staff are very professional and caring especially Saarah who looked after me for both eyes, she is an amazing human who goes the extra mile, big heartfelt thanks to her. I had been considering surgery for several years so attended an open day at Stoneygate. Everything was explained to me so well by Mr Kumar. I was then left to decide if I wanted to go ahead.
In February after choosing to go ahead with Multifocal lens I had my left eye surgery. I was made to feel so at ease by all the friendly staff. The procedure was so quick and painless. I had a check up one week on and a date agreed for my right eye which was three weeks after.
I am so impressed with the care I received and the vision I now have without glasses.

My Husband recently had the cataracts done in both eyes, from the moment you walked through the door you were welcomed like an old school friend, the staff were all extremely helpful, always asking if you wanted a drink and making sure you were o k, the team doing the operation were exceptional, very polite and helpful, the aftercare amazing, we couldn't thank them enough.

first heard about Stoneygate Eye Hospital after seeing they had an open day coming up online in December. From the very first minute everyone was amazing and really informative, which helped me feel confident about going ahead.

I had been +5 in both eyes and wore contact lenses for years. I’m 42 and work as a plasterer, so dealing with contacts in dusty environments was always a hassle. After speaking with my surgeon, Dr Kumar, during the consultation I felt completely at ease. From our first conversation he was brilliant, explained everything clearly and answered all my questions.

I had refractive lens replacement surgery in January and the whole experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. My vision has improved massively — I went from barely being able to see the top line on the eye chart without correction to reading almost the whole chart.
