A Transformative Experience with The Living Read

The Living Read has been an incredible support for my 15-year-old son as he prepares for his GCSE studies, particularly his work on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. What makes this program so special is the way it goes far beyond teaching academic skills—it brings literature to life in a meaningful, inspiring way.

Not only has The Living Read helped him analyse the text in depth, but it has also guided him in understanding the emotions between the lines, interpreting characters, and learning how to express these insights clearly in presentations. His English grammar has improved noticeably, and he now approaches complex passages with confidence and curiosity.

But what truly stands out is the impact on his personal growth. The Living Read isn’t simply about grammar and analysis—it is about helping young people find their voice. My son has always been quite shy, and speaking in front of others has never come easily to him. Through patient guidance, warm encouragement, and creative activities, The Living Read has helped him shake off his fears, build real self-esteem, and interact more confidently with both students and adults. These are skills that will support him not only in school but throughout his adult life.

Every session, he’s welcomed with genuine warmth. And every time he leaves, he’s beaming—full of joy, pride, and a newfound spark of confidence. Seeing him come out of each class smiling and energised has been one of the greatest rewards.

I cannot recommend The Living Read highly enough. It is a nurturing, inspiring program that strengthens academic skills while empowering young people to believe in themselves and shine.
