Our Story: A Family Legacy in the Himalayas The story of Everest Holiday is deeply rooted in the mountains of Nepal and in a family tradition that began more than half a century ago. Our journey started in the 1960s, when our grandfather began working as a local logistics helper for early travelers and mountaineers who came to Nepal in search of adventure in the Himalayas. During those early days of trekking tourism, infrastructure was limited and travel through the mountains required deep local knowledge. Our grandfather supported visiting explorers by helping organize routes, arrange supplies, and guide them through the remote Himalayan regions. His dedication and hard work built the foundation of our family’s connection to tourism. As Nepal’s trekking industry began to grow, the next generation carried this legacy forward. In the 1990s, our father Ganesh Simkhada worked with numerous trekking companies and travel agencies across Nepal, gaining valuable experience in expedition logistics, trekking operations, and mountain tourism. During this period, he also collaborated with important government organizations such as the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), helping promote Nepal as one of the world’s most remarkable destinations for trekking, mountaineering, and cultural travel. After decades of experience in the field, our family decided it was time to build something that truly represented our values, our experience, and our vision for the future. In April 2016, we proudly established The Everest Holiday. Our mission was simple but meaningful: to guide travelers from around the world through the incredible landscapes of Nepal while sharing the authentic culture, traditions, and natural beauty of the Himalayas. From the towering peaks of Everest and Annapurna to remote mountain villages and ancient trails, we aim to create unforgettable journeys that connect travelers with the true spirit of the Himalayas. But The Everest Holiday was founded with a deeper purpose as well. Our family has always believed that tourism should benefit the communities that make these journeys possible. Through our work, we hope to support the long-term development of Himalayan regions by helping create better opportunities for education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods in remote mountain communities. Today, The Everest Holiday continues this family legacy with the same passion that began decades ago in the high Himalayan trails. What started as one man helping travelers explore the mountains has grown into a company dedicated to sharing Nepal with the world while giving back to the land and communities that inspire every journey.

The Everest Holiday is the Best choice in Tourism

The father/son operators of The Everest Holiday are the very best in this service industry. From doctors to 5*Hotels to private cars with drivers, they do it all to perfection. They never charged us extra money for lots of extras. They upgraded our hotel rooms and private car. They arranged extra tours and a very memorable “ultralight flights” up into the Himalaya Mountains. They are so kind that they are now our friends forever!

An inspirational week with the best guide ever!

We had an amazing, inspirational week exploring the cultural, historical and ecological diversity of Nepal. Our guide, Shreejan, is not only the kindest human I have ever met, he is knowledgeable, well connected and a pleasure to be with. He took great care of us in every way so that all we had to do was soak up the incredible experiences. Our driver negotiated the Nepalese roads with a skillful calm that was reassuring and allowed us to relax, always feeling comfortable and safe. This was an unforgettable, once-in-a lifetime week and I will be forever grateful to The Everest Holiday for making it happen. I give them my highest recommendation!!

A Beautiful Experience, Even Though It Ended Differently Than Planned

I had an incredible Langtang trek and can highly recommend this company!

From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized and tailored to my individual needs and wishes. The team was always attentive, involved, and genuinely friendly, making me feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire journey.

A special thank you to my guide and porter, who were exceptionally kind, professional, and supportive at all times. My guide also had amazing photography skills and captured some truly beautiful moments for me, which I will always cherish. Everything was well planned and prepared, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy the trek without any worries.

The mountains, guesthouses, and overall experience in the Langtang region were absolutely stunning and unforgettable.

Unfortunately, due to severe nausea and stomach issues, I decided it was important for my health to return to Kathmandu by helicopter to receive proper medical care as quick as prossible. The team handled everything very professionally and supported me in making this decision.

Despite this unexpected ending, I am extremely grateful for this experience and the outstanding care I received. I would definitely choose this company again!

Traveling Nepal with People You Can Truly Trust

I traveled with Samjhana and Shreejan( the owners of this travel agency) and it was an incredible journey. We went as far as Tipling, crossing stunning landscapes and beautiful trails. Everything was so well organized, and in every village we were warmly welcomed by kind and generous hosts. Sam and Shreejan were always caring, attentive, and thoughtful, making sure we felt comfortable at every moment. You can trust them completely — they will make you discover Nepal in the most authentic and unforgettable way.

A heartfelt and Unforgettable Experience

Honestly they’re among the most heartfelt, considerate, and genuinely caring people I have ever met. I had the great blessing of traveling with this wonderful Nepali family. They don’t just create a nice experience for their guests—they pour their hearts into helping everyone they encounter, whether it’s customers or the local community around them.

Being able to travel with the mother and father of this family was something truly special, and I am infinitely grateful for it. Even more so, getting to know the different members of the family and seeing how they dedicate their time and energy to the community in Nepal was really deeply inspiring and heartwarming.

I can only recommend anyone traveling in Nepal to spend time with this family. Their knowledge of hikes and routes is outstanding, and they go to great lengths to create a personal and individualized journey, adapting to different needs and budgets. Their expertise and strong network with guides and hotels make the entire experience smooth, enjoyable, and meaningful.

This was a precious encounter, we really connected, and I will always treasure them.

Unforgettable memories

Shamjhana organized and coordinates a wonderful trip to a small village in the mountain for me. I got an authentic insight into the life of the villagers and I had the chance to see beautiful places. I did a trek to Tipling with the…

I did a trek to Tipling with the Everest holiday that was absolutely amazing ! All from the organization to the places we visited was perfect. Alongside the trek I also did some volunteering with Sam who is very nice and truly devoted to her work. I warmly recommend visiting Nepal with them !

Wonderful local family run business

I have been back to Nepal five times since 2018. Every time I have traveled there I book with The Everest Holiday. As a local business run by a local family, they have the knowledge and experience to ensure your time in Nepal is amazing.

I had the most amazing experience with…

I had the most amazing experience with The Everest Holiday and its guide Shreejan. He is like a brother to me ever since I met him in 2018 from going to a monastery and learning about Buddhist traditions and culture to going to upper mustang to Kathmandu sight seeing to jungle safari and now finally getting married to my love in the monkey temple. I will recommend 10 out of 10 Nepal and this agency I will always recommend this company and guide. This is my third time in Nepal and I will be coming back for more.
