Messed up my order twice resulting in me having to cancel contractors on two occasions at very short notice .

After the second time they messed up the order I contacted them and the response was sorry about that but not much we can do about it.

Before doing this review I contacted them via the feedback link on the website and not as much as a reply.

Tried to blame the delivery company for being on strike but the facts are in the space of two weeks the gate shop staff failed twice.

First time sent out half of the order
Second time it took me to call them to ask where the missing order was only to be told it was left on a table.

I bought an electric gate system from this company about eight years ago and I've had a lot of issues with the system motors failing, motherboards failing & sensors failing. The technical helpline is ok but whenever there's an issue especially around the motherboard they state that it was insect infestation to get out of warranty responsibilities, no infestation just a microscopic insect (I've put this to local electricians who feel that it's a very wishy-washy reason and highly unlikely to blow the board) however the box they provided to house the wiring and the motherboard has a slight opening which will allow insects in, I've raised this point over a number of years and they have recognised this but do not provide replacement parts to make up for the manufacturing issues, and one of the technical people said I feel sorry for your situation. They have not even suggested any solutions to make the system more robust. The reason for writing this few review is that the company has said they do not want to deal with me anymore even though I've paid for every item apart from one recent motherboard they sent me which was not even in packaging just some bubble wrap and a cardboard box which failed within three days, I spoke to the manager and we had an agreement that if he sent me a new motherboard, I would just move to a new company and we can both move forward, but the motherboard he sent me was again in bubble wrap and a cardboard box no item particulars no wrapping you would relate to a new item. I've given him several weeks now to respond to this and even showed him this review prior to posting to give him a chance to honour our agreement he hasn't bothered to respond. Any consumer looking to use this company needs to make sure that the item they are buying does not have any manufacturing issues which would cause problems later on because they make excuses for failings and will not honour the problems that I've encountered. My gates have been unusable now for months which leads to the frustration and the they have given me every indication they simply don't care.

Electric Gate Kit

I ordered an electric gate kit from this company. The ordering process was straightforward and the kit arrived next day.

The kit was as described and undamaged. Whilst the kit does have instructions it needs to be installed by a competent person who understands electrical regulations and electronic terms and drawings with relevant qualifications.

I ordered the kit plus a a pair of illuminated push buttons, GSM system to allow the gates to be opened by calling them from your mobile (sim required although mine came with a giff gaff sim) and wooden post adjustable hinges. Whilst expensive I would recommend for getting the motor arm hinge position to the correct geometry.

If you choose to DIY then spend time planning the cable management, wiring and purchase a couple of electrical enclosures and flexible conduit at least 28mm depending on your chosen set up.

I looked at a number of kits and this appeared to be a high quality kit and so far so good.

As a DIY project I installed Roger Technology gate motors, replacing the existing but ancient motors. The team were brilliant at advising what I needed and the products have been great.

Great products, quick delivery, but most importantly they have a superb technical support team and helped me through every step of the way. Customer care like it used to be - keep it up!

Excellent motors,and very good service. But be careful buying the solar solution, as mine was great all through the summer but stopped working at the end of November after 3 weeks of cloud. They sold me a solar pack with two panels and 2 12v batteries. But the panels just not up to job in cloudy conditions. No refund or solution was offered to me. Get panels from somewhere else.

I have used this company for 20 years or so and installed two sets of gates at different properties when we have moved, they are professional and knowledgeable, and always willing share that knowledge. I would never buy an electric gate from anywhere else.

I really think it is important to praise companies that go out of their way to support you and this company didn't think they had done anything special. My electric gate stopped working due to the wiring coming loose and I didn't know which wire went where. Did a quick YouTube etc. Still puzzled so thought I'd ring the company on the front of the keypad ... with little hope. Straight through to technical support and Dalton on the call. He asked for a photo of the front and back sending via WhatsApp and then said the model number and instantly sent me a pdf of the manual and a diagram. Over the moon is an understatement - no moaning of 'it's out of guarentee', 'you need an engineer' etc. Highly recommend their sales AND, more importantly, their aftersales support - WELL DONE!

So so pleased to have found this company . Our gates are around 17 years old and we paid a lot for quality but unbelievably the original fobs that were supplied were poor quality and are hit a miss and tiresome . Not unusually the company we bought the gates from aren’t interested once they’ve sold you the gates .
Luckily I found the electric gate company on a Google search who have been fantastic , so patient and helpful and have supplied new appropriate fobs which I have cloned .
Can’t speak highly enough of them .

First class service, I have been making gates/ steel work for 25 years and only started automating recently I have brought motor kits from other companies of which they say they have all the technical back up I needed as a novice I needed help and support on one of my installations on I quote( have you not read the instructions) I had been buying steel and components from them for 20 year and that's how I was treated! Well I received my first gate kit from this company, I tried to follow the set up instructions but had problems, called there technical support, what a relief a real person with full knowledge of what I was trying to achieve, sorted issue out straight away, this is 5 start service!
I will be buying my next kit soon from them. Would strongly recommend them.

Fast and professional service. Needed a replacement Rogers Technology transformer. Had been in contact with another company for weeks trying to get one organised, with no joy but lots of frustration. Was given contact details for The Electric Gate Shop. Called them, they had the unit on the shelf. Ordered late Thursday afternoon, delivered to me Monday. Top service.

Purchased a Remootio 3, but didn't realise it didn't come with a power supply. Range them up and clarified all the details quickly, they even offered to exchange for a Remootio 2 which did come with a power supply.

In the end I used a Lowenergie 12w LED Driver Transformer 240V AC to 12V DC for LED Lighting which was had lying around and worked perfectly.

Liz from the electric gate shop has been perfect everytime we have placed an order making it effortless.

Brilliant service. Ordered a Remootio Wi-fi gate controller - arrived quickly. Then had to order a power converter. Had some technical queries prior to installation - the tech’ team responded quickly to my query and emailed me a wiring diagram for the two devices. Will totally use The Electric Gate Shop again - brilliant service.
