A Great Art School Alternative
I bought the preparatory module and recently participated in the contest that applied this. loved the contest very much! The brief was very interesting. The mentors are very kind and helped push my work to the next level. And if I ever got lost in between the feedback sessions, fellow people from the art nest provided some help :) I don't think I had a negative experience. It was all very fun and humorous which helped a lot. The right amount of pressure for me. Overall, a very excellent experience and I think I came out a better artist!!
The Search
Before finding out about the Art Nest, I was hardstuck for a long while, and assumed that being technically strong was all that was needed to get jobs, and luck played a major role in getting into the industry.
But the Art Nest has changed that perspective. It emphasises on clear, actionable steps to curate a portfolio for the studios I wanted to work at. It reframed the portfolio not only as credentials, but as an experience for the reviewer.
The Prep Module was helpful in breaking down large, unclear requirements into concise and manageable steps, allowing me to focus on one task at a time instead of juggling everything at once. There is no fancy magic, just a clear explanation of what studios needed, and how to deliver them. It teaches structure, workflow, and gave me the confidence to move ahead with production ready designs.
Not to mention the kindness and generosity of both Art Nest and the community is something I appreciate. It's a privilege to see so many like-minded individuals together, each working towards the same goal in their own way.
I gladly recommend the Art Nest to anyone who is serious about growing and improving in concept art.
Best decision!
Before having the Art Nest recommended to me, I was stuck in the not good art school limbo where I focused solely on the final product and keyframes and never got into any design process whatsoever. In just 6 months after starting to apply what I learned in the Preparatory Module, I gained so much confidence and skills that allowed to make work that is actually relevant to production. I learned the importance of a well thought out process and how good planning and thorough thinking are the true pillars that support every new project we work on. Aside from these insights, it's also the community that's helped massively improve. I had the opportunity to work everyday with likeminded people who don't hesitate to get out of their way to give relevant feedback and comments to elevate your journey. Be it on a professional technical or social level, I got so much more from the Art Nest than I ever imagined, and all of this with only the Preparatory Module ;)
One of the best decisions I ever made
The Art Nest is a community and a place that you go to when you want/need a clear path to your art goals.
Tim and the Art Nest academy has helped me with giving me a reality check as far as what are the requirements to achieve my concept art goals.
It is a place of sincerity, hard truths and is focused on improvement. It has been a very big part of my artistic path in terms of skill improvement and understanding of the concept art industry.
All that while being part of a community of likeminded individuals pushing each other to be better.
It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made to join the Art Nest and get the preparatory module.
Tim and community thank you sincerely, proud to be a member of this Nest.
High recommendation for level up
I joined the Art Nest with it's Preparatory Module to gain more knowledge about the current state of concept art industry and learn more about portfolio building and workflows in general. Not only did I get all that, but I also took part in the art challenge and received very insightful feedback from the Art Nest team. The community is amazing too, it was a joy to watch everyone develop. In this short time (about a month), I was guided in the direction I’d like to explore further. This is exactly the environment I’ve been looking for to grow as an artist and to be surrounded by the wonderful people at The Art Nest and in the community.
I can highly recommend The Art Nest to everyone who is seriously interested to pursue concept art as a career.
How to building a professional portfolio FOR REAL!
I joined The Art Nest on July 2025, when I felt stuck in a job that, although related to concept art, was drifting away from what I was aiming for. I wanted to take a real step forward toward more engaging projects. So I started applying everywhere with my old school portfolio, but over time I became increasingly discouraged: the lack of responses made me feel like I wasn’t good enough and I might remain stuck in that situation.
Then, by chance, I discovered Timothée. I watched his video on how to craft a portfolio several times before exploring more of his content — portfolio reviews, live sessions— and comparing that knowledge with my own work, I realized what I had been doing wrong!
As soon as I had the opportunity, though a bit hesitant, I purchased the Preparatory Module and I can honestly say that the amount of information and advice it contains is truly extraordinary!
I started this journey, about 6 years ago, at a school that gave me a strong foundation, and I consider myself lucky for this. I’m also a very observant, so I often built my projects by analyzing professional portfolios. However, I wasn’t fully aware of the process: I was simply emulating what I saw, based on my own interpretation. Although my teachers were talented and encouraged to push our designs exploration, they likely lacked the tools to explain how and why to approach projects in a truly professional way. The Preparatory Module helped me fill those gaps!
Today, I can confidently say that without Tim's content, I would probably still be trying to figure out what wasn’t working in my projects or creating yet another unfocused portfolio made up of random pieces without a clear direction. If I now have a deeper understanding of a professional pipeline and a renewed motivation towards this work, it’s thanks to Tim and the Art Nest team ♡.
Very insightful and amazing experience
Did the preparatory modele and the 5 weeks contest at the Artnest. Not only I've learned a lot about making an impactful portfolio, I also got very insightful feedback that pushed my design further. The contest really challenged me on many different levels, I can't express how much it helped me grow as an artist. I definitely recommend it for anyone who is trying to get the last bits in order to achieve a pro level as a concept artist!
One of the Most Effective Concept Art Methodology Out There!
I joined the Preparatory Module program while participating in the contest which emulates a real life production pipeline. What I realised is how effective the The Art Nest methodology is because after just 5 weeks, the level of progression I obtained is incredible. What The Art Nest does well is having a realistic, targeted approach to what studios are looking for and thus, increasing the rate of students being successful in their careers. Besides that, is the wonderful community it's cultivated. Just by being around like minded, hungry folks influenced me to up my game. I can't recommend The Art Nest enough!
Incredible learning experience
Having yet to break into the industry, the Art Nest taught me invaluable knowledge regarding the kind of work a concept artist needs to do to create a competitive portfolio. Before finding them, I focused far too much on final renders and relied too heavily on 3D and photobashing. After the preparatory module and getting feedback from the mentors at the Art Nest, I was able to create a project that would actually be relevant to production, and I became way more confident in my drawing abilities.
The prep module also greatly helped me be more efficient with my work - they emphasize the importance of spending a good chunk of time thoroughly planning and researching before you ever start drawing. This was essential to creating more intentional work with strong, unique designs and really helped me with my creative process. But I think the most important aspect of joining the Art Nest was the community; there are so many motivated, talented people who genuinely want to help you succeed. It was awesome to see everyone hype each other up while also giving constructive feedback. Overall, just a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone trying to get into the industry and even professionals - they've got knowledge to share with artists of all levels!!
One of the best decision in my life! :D
One of the best decision in my life. I can't thank Tim and the Art Nest enough for their help, the community is lovely. I had stumbled upon a huge wall in my artistic journey, discovered the Art Nest and decided to give it a shot as it seemed to have the answers I was looking for. (I was in the earlier version of the mentorship from 2024 which got even better now!) I learned and improved so much in such a short amount of time, design wise and render wise as well as making me understand what I was lacking in my portfolio. It helped me create a new standard for me and my work! It's a lot of hard work and dedication but it's totally worth it. So I can't help but recommend it! :)
It's good for everyone!
I took part in the first Art Nest Challenge, even tho I am already a professional I was still able to level up, Tim and the mentors were great at pointing out where I could improve and what steps to follow.
I observed the level up of other students and I can say they made huge progress in a short time thanks to the informations being disclosed immediately and with actionable steps to turn them into improvement as fast as possible. If you are starting from scratch, save yourself time and money and go to the Art Nest!
THE mentorship to build a portfolio and get a job while learning about the business side of the industry
I should have written this review earlier, because Tim’s Artnest is to my knowledge the best mentorship covering not only concept art but also the business skills needed to navigate the industry. I can say I have learned more in these past months than in the previous years. Tim is genuinely one of the most dedicated, passionate and supportive mentors I have known, who puts an incredible amount of work and investment towards his course and students.
The 5 weeks course is barely the tip of the iceberg. You are also getting access to feedback and support while you work on your portfolio and new content that Tim keeps adding such as videos/webinars about the industry, resumes and cover letters, job interview preparations, etc. In just one year, the amount of extra resources that has been added is substantial and I can only imagine what it will be a year from now! For this price it is a real bargain.
Some fair warnings though as there might be some hard pills to swallow concerning the industry and the mindset needed to succeed. The Artnest does not pretend to be a magic trick that will instantly give you your dream job. See it more as a mindset and a guide with the tools, inside knowledge and mentoring needed to get a job in the industry. But this is a marathon, not a sprint, and the work necessary might feel quite daunting. A certain level of skills is required to join the Artnest, and you'll learn how to become more and more autonomous as you work on your portfolio.
Finally, you’ll meet a supportive community through the Artnest discord server: what you get is a network of artists sharing the same goals and that you will very likely meet in your future art career. Tim and the community is what will allow you to keep on going without giving up. I admit I'm quite of an introvert online, but every time I posted a question or had a doubt, I received more than expected help from the other students and from Tim, who goes above and beyond with every single student.
The Artnest is worth every penny and I definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to work in the industry!
An Insane Value
An insane value. The Art Nest has totally turned around my work and given me concrete direction. Tim will stop at nothing to fix what is broken with the entertainment talent pipeline.
I came to the Art Nest confused and discouraged after years of hitting my head against the wall trying to pursue concept art. I could not understand how to get my foot in the door and what my work needed to look like to get the right kind of attention. Tim makes it crystal clear what you need to do to get your first job in the industry and provides all the resources you need to get there. The regular feedback you get from the mentors and the community alone is invaluable.
The Art Nest is totally unique in what it's doing and Tim has built an incredibly supportive community that makes me feel motivated and part of something meaningful.
Insight and Peace of Mind
Before the art nest, I felt lost and clueless about the state of the industry. I saw nothing but layoffs, artists struggling to find work, and a lot of worried posts from experienced artists on LinkedIn. So, I started to feel a bit hopeless. Tim has restored my hope by helping me reevaluate my art, explaining how to align myself with production needs, and giving me the tools to succeed! It honestly felt like Tim peeled back the curtain of the industry, showing us what’s going on and why a lot of artists (even seasoned artists) aren’t finding jobs. His insight provided clarity and peace of mind for me. The Art Nest has helped me to focus more on design, storytelling, and problem solving than just rendering. I strongly recommend any artist having issues finding work to check out the Art Nest.
Develop skills to aid the production pipeline and get hired!
Before taking this mentorship, I felt lost in my career. I believed my work was lacking something, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it, and I had no idea where to start. I began searching for a different kind of mentorship experience because I was tired of the typical format that focused solely on Blender techniques, especially since I was already familiar with about 80% of the information being taught most of the time.
What caught my attention was that this mentorship took a different approach. Instead of just focusing on technical skills, it provided solutions on how to organize and create effective designs to support the 3D production pipeline. The business insights were also incredibly valuable, something I consider one of the most important aspects of a career, yet often overlooked. Developing business skills is essential for success. This mentorship filled the gaps I felt were missing in my journey.
I highly recommend it! Beyond the mentorship itself, there are many perks, one of the coolest being access to the Art Nest community, where you can network and collaborate with other artists.
If you're stuck in your artistic career, he's your man.
I can't be enough grateful to Tim and the Art Nest: I've learnt more in 5 weeks with him than in years in my art school. And I've recovered my fuel and motivation to keep improving.
The fact that when the proper mentorship finishes he's still there giving you feedback and helping to find a job, is a big game changer compared to other mentorship/courses.
Also, the Art Nest community is incredibly supportive and nice. Tim spends more time with the mentees that you can imagine.
Totally worth it the price.
Definitely worth the money
Definitely worth the money. Tim is an awesome teacher, and his passion for the subject, along with the time and effort he invests in his students, shows that he truly cares about people achieving results and the future of the Art Nest community.
CONCEPT ARTIST COMPLETE PACK!
This is one of a kind mentorship which clears every aspect around concept art. You'll acquire all the knowledge you need to navigate through the entertainment industry.
Right from the start Tim will help you build a plan and in the end you will have a clear vision of your future and what you will need to do to achieve your goals.
I found his analitical approach really helpful and I enjoyed his way of teaching, letting the students find their answers, despite being followed along the way.
One of the things that make this course unique is the business side, which was super beneficial for me to learn. He talks about EVERYTHING regarding this topic.
Tim help each student during every stage of the portfolio building and, as he promises, he'll follow them even after the mentorship to help them finding a job.
During the weeks, aside from videos, you'll also recieve tons of resources and schemes which were a great addition to assimilate the knowledge more easily.
It surprised me his commitment to follow each student and the amount of time he dedicates to help them. He's one of the kindest person I've ever met, who also managed to create a community which reflects his qualities and which is a warm place (as a "nest") where people share ideas and help each others.
It's a must-have, especially if you struggle finding the right way to break into the industry!
<3 Very accessible cost and thot provoking class! <3 Good fundamentals and portfolio strategies!
It was great to be in a room with creatives and work on foundations for a good portfolio with a sound strategy! n___n
Its a lil confusing and frustrating at the start but as all new skills are acquired, its just some growing pains.
Sketches that I did as practice for this class got me a job! [legal says that this DOES NOT guarantee you a job haha >:D ]
BUT! It will definitely set you on the right path mentally if you got the gumption and drive in you! <3
Life changing concept art portfolio crafting
The most accurate description of this mentorship could be “a beacon of hope in this awful industry situation” to know what could improve our portfolio to get access to jobs. The fact that there’s an actionable analysis process and “plan” (no spoiler) will help you regain control of the process/portfolio which is really positive and good for morale/peace of mind. Class format is really nice and dynamic and helps to get the ball rolling.
In addition to the portfolio crafting support (and continuous feedback) given by Tim, he’ll help you understand the process of application in detail, help you with your CV and being more diplomat. Tim also goes all out to improve the content of the mentorship following discussions and data coming from collecting industry insights. There’s also the community. You can come and see with the free course and the Discord link if you’re curious, I do think it’s helpful.
Do I regret not having taking this course before I did? Definitely. The results are there. If you feel lost you’ll learn new things and it will change your life. Getting help of the community you’ll get where you want to be in the end.
