The process of re-mortgaging under 'normal' circumstances is, at best, a real chore. At worst, an indecipherable mess, full of esoteric language and constant change. I have ADHD, and other issues that make focus difficult. Therefore, re-mortgaging can be not only a very difficult 'chore', but it could potentially cost a significant amount of money if I make a mistake, overlook a crucial point, or simply am having a 'moment'.

Alex Ashworth is the person that will take away the worries from re-mortgaging/re-financing.

I need to add some context that is necessary to give weight to some claims I will make. For the previous 10 years, the person that took care of my re-mortgaging, and quite literally saved me a lot of money was, fortunately for her, unfortunately for me, about to retire. However, she had someone that would do a good job, and the person she recommended was Alex Ashworth. As this recommendation came from someone I had lots of confidence in, while it can always be a bit tricky dealing with someone new, especially over something as important as getting a new mortgage, I knew they would be good. Just how good, I was about to find out.

Alex reached out to me and we spoke on a couple of occasions for a while. This allowed Alex to get a feel for what I needed, what I would or would not accept, and a general appreciation for how the relationship would go.

From the first moment I spoke to Alex, I was constantly communicated with, ensuring all the necessary information was on hand to do his job, but also, and I think this point is crucial, to fully understand what sort of person am I. Am I a cautious person, am I someone that needs as much certainty as possible, or am I someone that is happy to be less certain but be open to deals that are financially more advantageous? Bear this in mind, as it speaks to a very important factor when dealing with Alex and I will come back to this.

Alex is an excellent communicator. From the moment Alex introduced himself there was never a moment that I did not have a full and complete picture of what was happening, where in the process I was, whether there was any additional information required, and so on. Ultimately, once Alex found what deals that were best for my circumstances, that was quickly communicated. A re-mortgage is not a trifling matter and so once Alex had found a deal that met my needs and gave the best value, it was instantly communicated.

I hope by now, I have made it clear, Alex is a great communicator. Couple that with the way Alex spends time to understand the client as a person, and I hope you can see, this is a great platform from which one is likely to get sound advice, but also the constant ability to assess that advice. So, when Alex found a deal that met my criteria, he wanted to talk it through straight away. The deal was indeed a good deal, meeting my financial requirements and being better than I thought I could hope for. However, remember I made the point about how Alex gets to know his clients as a person? It was clear to see that Alex had indeed gotten to know me. I am a cautious, and to be frank, pessimistic person. For lots of reasons, that caution, in relation to re-mortgaging/re-financing, manifests itself as wanting longer deals despite the fact that ultimately I will pay more over the term of the mortgage. So, despite how good the initial deal was, I said to Alex I would still prefer a longer deal. Again, just to ram the point home, Alex really did understand what I wanted and what type of person I am. Without losing a beat, Alex produced another deal, a sibling of the initial one, if you will. This had all the benefits of the initial deal, except that it was a 5 year deal, and so I would end up paying more in the long run, Crucially though, it gave me the level of certainty I was looking for. Alex could only have been this prepared by knowing who I am and acting to try to ensure any deal met all of my needs and expectations. I am very happy with the deal that Alex worked out for me, to say the least.

It has been a pleasure to engage with Alex on this process. Not only does he have all the professional skills necessary, he is a very nice person. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about Alex and the service he provided. I will, without question, be knocking on Alex's door, so to speak, in 5 years when I need to re-mortgage again. In fact, if I need any financial related service, Alex will be the first, and most likely the only call, I will make.
