The law on deposit protection is very clear, a landlord (or their agent) must protect a tenant's deposit within 30 days of it being paid and it must remain protected for the whole duration of the tenancy until the day the tenant moves out.

Being in our 60’s and long term renters we were unsure where to turn when coming across a problematic landlord. A website search suggested Tenant Angels who had many positive reviews.
