My first experience trying out Tempo was to build a Community Event Schedule builder and it was seamless. One of the key features I love about Tempo is the version control integrated with Git, ability to visualize responsive design and connect to supabase DB for Fullstack development.

Tempo is fantastic. designing on tempo is mind-blowing, especially when it comes to designing with details.

I really enjoyed the vibe coding experience using TempoLabs. It’s a great tool for quickly turning ideas into working products.

Working with Tempo was a great experience! Their Agent+ service tripled our velocity! Would recommend to anyone looking the build fast at production quantity.

It doesn't load if your network connection dips below 5g speeds.

It decides to erase your progress randomly from your design canvas.

If you own anything other than a mac, it will decide to crash at the most random times and erase your progress as a bonus.

If you've designed your design on figma, good luck importing it. Even if you do, you have to do it screen by screen and wait for the plugin to unfreeze (I have a M4 max btw)

I didn't go deeper into exploring this app because of these issues. (Honestly, I was genuinely excited about it at first)

I hope this helps you not waste your time or money.

p.s. if you're a felow designer, you're better off burning your money with figma mcp + claude code. Stay away from this app.

Tempo works really well with or without credits as compared to other vibe coding tools. If used well you can really create high quality aesthetic websites. I’ve used Tempo to build over 5 websites for businesses and it serves them really well.

Tempo is not a platform — it’s a trap.
It cannot reliably export, cannot safely import, cannot manage auth sanely, and its AI is not trained on Tempo’s own product. I lost days, burned credits, and ultimately had my database wiped because the system does not understand its own stack.

This wasn’t one bug. This was a chain of failures.

The Full Timeline (This Matters)
I Started in Tempo

I began my project in Tempo. Backend logic, Supabase integration, core data model. No frontend yet.

Then I needed a real UI.

Tempo Couldn’t Provide a Clean Frontend Path

To add a proper frontend, I was told to move the project into Lovable.

That’s where the first cracks showed:

Tempo does not provide a clean export

The only option was “go through GitHub”

Documentation did not match reality

What arrived in GitHub was incomplete

I didn’t get a full app.
I got half the code.

I Had to Rebuild the App in Lovable

Because the export was broken:

I manually reconstructed the frontend
Rewired Supabase
Rebuilt UI flows
Got everything working

At this point:

Data existed
Auth worked
The app worked

Tempo’s Own AI Told Me to Stay in Lovable

Here’s the part that should terrify anyone evaluating this platform:

Tempo’s AI explicitly told me to go back to Lovable
because “that’s where all your stuff is.”

That is an admission that:

Tempo cannot round‑trip its own projects
Even its AI knows migration is unsafe

I Tried to Come Back to Tempo Anyway
Against my better judgment, I tried again.

Same problems:

GitHub import only pulled part of the project
Supabase connection silently failed
Environment variables were ambiguous and undocumented
UI allowed invalid keys with zero warnings
It took hours just to reconnect the backend.

I Just Wanted One Thing: Basic Login for Testing

This is important:

I did NOT want security.
I did NOT want production auth.
I just wanted to log in users for testing.

But Tempo:

Would not allow auth to be disabled
Required Edge Functions I did not create
Forced Supabase permissions that were never explained
Would not allow bypassing auth for local/dev testing
This is table stakes. Tempo failed it.

The AI Then Destroyed My Database

This is where it crossed from “bad tooling” into dangerous.

Because data wasn’t showing (due to RLS + dev auth):

The AI claimed the tables “did not exist”

Without confirmation, it dropped and recreated them

Hundreds of real companies and contacts were overwritten

Sample data was inserted instead

Later, the AI admitted:

“I made a catastrophic mistake.”

That’s not acceptable.
AI should never run destructive database actions by default.

The AI Is Not Trained on Tempo’s Product

This is the core failure.

The AI:

Confused Supabase auth modes
Misdiagnosed RLS behavior
Suggested invalid env vars
Invented missing functions
Recommended switching platforms instead of fixing Tempo
Ran destructive migrations instead of diagnosing visibility issues
You cannot advertise AI‑assisted development if the AI does not understand:

Your auth model
Your deployment lifecycle
Your database safety boundaries

Why This Is Unacceptable

Tempo fails at:

Safe exports
Safe imports
State continuity
Auth flexibility
Dev/test workflows
AI guardrails
Data protection

And worst of all:

It fails silently until it destroys your work.

Final Verdict

Tempo is not production‑ready.
It’s not even prototype‑safe.

If you:

Care about your data
Need to move between tools
Expect AI to help instead of harm
Or just want to log in users without fighting the platform

Do not use Tempo.

This wasn’t user error.
This was a platform that does not understand its own surface area.

I’m writing this so the next person doesn’t lose days — or their data — the way I did.

Abysmal customer service. I had an account with them since April that I never used and when I contacted them to cancel the subscription they just deleted my account but kept the money for the paid period and declined a refund request.

Refunded me to an old bank account I no longer hold, reffuse to send again to a legitimate method. Take so long to respond to emails its not worth further chasing.

Refund policy and customer service not great.

I sent an email to support on May 4 asking for a compliant corporate invoice. Their payment portal still doesn't have fields for company name, registered address, or EU VAT ID—despite that their Terms & Conditions mention that they provide services to legal entities and EU law demands valid business invoices.

I reached out to them via chat support numerous times from May 4 to May 26. Most chats went unanswered, and on the few occasions when I did manage to reach someone, they said they'd look into it…then ghosted me right away.

To date (May 22), my invoice is still incorrect and all subsequent questions have been met with silence. It's very disappointing to be made to feel like I'm a bother rather than a paying customer.

If you need legally compliant invoicing and actual follow-through, take your business elsewhere.

Tempo Labs se présente comme un outil révolutionnaire, mais il s'agit en réalité d'une arnaque bien rodée. Derrière des promesses alléchantes, on découvre une plateforme inefficace, lente, et surtout très coûteuse. Chaque action consomme un nombre exorbitant de 'prompts', vidant rapidement votre crédit et vous forçant à racheter des packs. En clair, vous payez pour du vent. Je déconseille fermement : fuyez cette escroquerie.

I enjoy working with Tempo Labs, but the 15 prompts per day limit feels frustratingly restrictive. Since many of these prompts are automatically generated by Tempo AI to fix bugs, it reduces the number available for my own coding tasks. Please separate user-initiated prompts from AI-generated ones.

Spamming Company - Another Company that thinks sending unsolicited spam emails is good business practice. Its not and is against GDPR. I always say most spamming companies are scamming companies. Never do business with a spammer
