What a brilliant experience
We had everything we needed, wanted and wished for. A great guide, perfect accommodations, great food, a full and smooth itinerary, fabulous game drives at times to suit us and we achieved sightings of so many different animals (including the big 5) as they went about their daily business. We also were able to observe the local population and get to appreciate some of their challenges and successes. Everyone we encountered was helpful, cheerful and positive. We loved our visit and would recommend ‘Tanzania Specialists’ to anyone interested in a safari holiday.

A fantastic experience in Tanzania
We had a truly fantastic trip with our Tanzania Specialist guide Millya in Dec 2025-Jan 2026. We saw so many amazing ecosystems and animals - including hunting cheetah, lions galore, all sorts of ungulates and a really wide range of lizards, small mammals, birds and bugs. Millya was a true expert who seemed to be able to find anything we wanted to see, and our accommodation was great. We were especially pleased to be able to add a trip to Olduvai Gorge and one to the foot of Kilimanjaro to our itinerary, and our favourite bit of Zanzibar was either the tortoise sanctuary on Prison Island or the long morning spent snorkeling!

**edit: I am editing my original review based on the fact that the company’s reply below implies we were provided with a mosquito net after escalation at the tent camp. However, no mosquito net was ever installed. I also want to make clear we reached out directly to the company prior to this review to have them address our concerns. We never received a reply, yet on a public forum they decided to “address our concerns”.

Overall, we had a great trip, and Abdul was an outstanding guide. He was personable, knowledgeable, and made our experience very enjoyable.
Our biggest disappointment was our stay at one of the tent camps, which did not provide mosquito nets. We requested one but were told none were available even after contacting customer service through the company while on safari there was no resolution. We left covered in mosquito bites despite being assured the tent had been sprayed while we were at dinner. Had we known this property didn't offer mosquito nets, we would not have agreed to stay there. This was especially disappointing because it was not the camp on our original itinerary. We understand the original property was sold out, but the replacement felt like a lower-quality experience with no adjustment to the price.
Finally, after we had already paid for the trip in full, we were asked to pay an additional fuel surcharge. While we understand that unexpected costs can arise, and we were dealing with our own unexpected travel expenses due to canceled flights and rebooking costs, being asked to pay more after paying in full left us feeling that the pricing could have been more transparent.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the operational fuel surcharge. Amazing 10 day safari with Calvin
We have just returned from a 10 day safari encompassing 5 different parks. All the recommended accommodation was excellent and our guide, Calvin Kibama was also excellent. We had a private vehicle and he was always willing to accommodate our requests to give us an amazing experience.
July is busy and there is a lot of controlled burning of the Serengeti which limits viewing in some areas. Extra activities were offered but not pushed. I would recommend the balloon experience (don’t think about the price the experience is priceless).
Office communication wasn’t great as had to keep asking for itinerary and not told of visa requirement (can get on arrival) and need to show yellow fever certificate.

The holiday was perfect
The holiday was perfect, I supplied the names of the hotels I wanted to stay and the safari parks a wanted to go to, they planned it all for me. Our driver for the week was Excellent, couldn’t ask for more. We got to see every animal available even black mamba snake. He was very informative not just about the animals but Tanzanian history. We got to see the two rarest animals (hardest to see) rhinos and leopards with great photos as memories. Was finished off with really nice 5 days in Zanzibar to relax. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great safari
The actual safari and the service provided by Calvin Kibama was great. He listened to our requests and tried his best to ensure we got the best out of the experience. July is very busy with hundreds of safari vehicles on the already terrible roads. Unfortunately, the office communications were not up to the same standard. We were a party of 4 but coming together from 2 different countries for the trip. Ibrahim could not understand that concept. The others did not receive any information from the company and were repeated asked for the same information again and again. The only emails they were sent was the invoice. Disappointing.

OMG what an awesome experience. Everything about our trip was perfect. From the moment Amadeus our driver picked us up from Kilimanjaro airport. The staff, the hotels were exceptional. Our safari experience was out of this world, made so much enjoyable by Amedeus who was so knowledgeable, nothing was too much bother. Cannot recommend highly enough. I must admit sending money to a company in Tanzania did make me wonder after you hear about the scams but Fanny in the office kept me informed throughout the process. Safari with warmth!
The Tanzania Specialist team took great care of us (two female travelers); from our arrival at the Kilimanjaro airport, throughout the safari excursion, our time in Zanzibar, and until we departed home.
Yusuph Iddi Kishuli — a stellar guide; he was incredibly attentive, kind, patient and well-informed. We'd especially remark on his dedication throughout the excursion; he ensured we were comfortable, safe and having the best times in the jeep, outside the jeep and in our accommodations. We really appreciated the clarity with which he'd layout the agenda(s) of the day, and his advices on navigating the terrains and managing our time to make the whole journey not only worthwhile, but irreplaceable. As a skilled and experienced guide, Kishuli was perceptive to our energy levels and accommodated correspondingly for our daily activities. These subtle observations are often times taken for granted, but in physically consuming activities such as the Safari, it creates the difference between a truly enjoyable excursion or an exhaustedly dogged episode - Kishuli's unwavering commitment his craft ensured the former. He was also very helpful in providing us with all the necessary tidbits about the flora and fauna in every region that we stepped into and never relented from ensuring we got the best pictures! Above all, we value how Kishuli wasn't merely a guide, but was an exceptional leader and a generous company for the entire excursion. We were saddened to depart from his hands as we left for Zanzibar but remain comforted knowing we've gained a new friend!
The staff of the Tanzania Specialist were always reachable via WhatsApp throughout the journey and this provided additional comfort and security for us. The accommodation and food arrangement were well thought-out and were always infused with warmth of the locale; as opposed to a mere tourist hotspot. The staff members of the respective lodges, Serengeti camps (Samuel, Ahmed, Kelvin among others) and members in the Matemwe Attitude (Masemo, Amina, Maria & others) were all generous, warm and attentive.
At the Inoga Lodge especially, we were blessed with a celebration hosted by the staff members (+ Yusuph Kishuli) for one of our birthdays. It was a complete surprise but demonstrated the care and attention to detail which Tanzania Specialist promises. On top of that, we had accidentally left a personal item in mainland Tanzania and only realised it once we were in Zanzibar; fret not - the team quickly arranged for the delivery across at no charge.
Aside from some transport alignment/delay hiccoughs in Zanzibar, we were thoroughly pleased with the service and dedication of the Tanzania Specilist team and wish them all the best in their endeavours!

Sunrise Over the Serengeti
We had the best experience with Tanzania Specialists. We began our trip with a relaxing week in Zanzibar followed by a weeklong safari. Both weeks were idyllic, from the turquoise blue vistas on the Indian Ocean to the sunrises over the Serengeti. Amazing Tanzania with Tanzania Specialists
From the very beginning, we felt that we were in good hands. Everything was so well organized, and your team was always kind, helpful, and caring. Thanks to the TS, we could relax, enjoy every moment, and fully experience the beauty of Tanzania.
The safari was absolutely incredible. Seeing wild animals so close, driving through the beautiful landscapes, and waking up every day to a new adventure was something we will never forget. It was even more beautiful and exciting than we had imagined.
Climbing Kilimanjaro was another unforgettable experience. It was not always easy, but the support, patience, and encouragement of the whole team helped us keep going. Reaching the summit was a very emotional and special moment for us, and we know we could not have done it without our wonderful guides, porters, cooks, and everyone who took care of us along the way.
What we appreciated most was the personal and friendly approach. We never felt like just another group of tourists. We felt truly welcome, safe, and cared for throughout the whole trip. Special thanks to driver Benjamin for supporting us on the safari and to guides David and Angela and special porter William, for their support on the Kili climb!
Thanks for giving us so many beautiful memories and experiences that will stay with us forever.
