Customer service is really poor if you have non-medical issues

I've been trying to reach customer service for two days now. Given they only take calls TWO HOURS a day, it's been nearly impossible to not get their line busy.

The information regarding bank transfer purchases needing TWO WEEKS(!) to be processed into policies must be front and center, people rely on these policies to be issued visas.

This review has gotten their attention, and after dealing with their customer support my issue was resolved. I strongly suggest everyone needing this to be quick to pay with a credit card, as i wouldn't have an issue otherwise with their service. Avoid the bank transfer if you can.

Great service

I was served by Hosham, who was professional and efficient and was able to help me out in good time. Both buying and cancelling my policy were quite simple and did not take too much of my time. Overall, I think it was a good experience.

El peor error de mi vida

El peor error de mi vida, pagar este seguro. No responden. Los teléfonos de contacto que te ponen en la aplicación son un fraude. Llamé a cada consulta o lugar de atención que según ellos están habilitados en España y todos eran números de personas particulares, que no sabían nada del tema. Una estafa!

Positive experience

I got a Schengen state short visitors insurance for my parents, who were visiting me in Germany.
Unfortunately, during my parents stay my father got a heart problems and had to go to a hospital, where he got a heart stent.
His hospital bills reached few thousand euros.
I have contacted swisscare afterwards and got the whole amount reimbursed.
Yes, I had to provide a bunch of documents, including boarding pass, translation of all the medical letters ( does not have to be authorized translation, I did myself), but this is a normal procedure with most of the insurances, especially when claiming a larger amount.
All in all, I can definitely recommend this insurance. Just make sure you read all the terms and conditions, keep the boarding passes and be ready to provide all the requested documents.

They’re okay

They have some opportunity areas but well they did pay for my claims at the hospital, a bit awkward that when it was over €200 they would prefer to send the money to me instead of to the hospital in Finland but I guess it’s because of a higher amount than my other claims, thanks for the support!

My swiss care claim was rejected for no apparent reason. I filed a complaint with Anker and there is no response. I have submitted the medical documents to reassess the claim. Horrible and poor customer service. Zero star.

Es la peor experiencia que he tenido, contraté un seguro de estudiantes para Belgica y me pusieron Portugal. El problema que no hay como ni con quien puedo conectar.

Is it a fraud?

We received our policy but never managed to sign up to an account to download the app. Tried contacting customer service mutliple times through their email service and phone line. Nobody picks up, nobody responds to emails. I am wondering if the company is a fraud now.

Avoid At All costs. Horrible company.

This insurance company is just absurd. They don't know the meaning of the word "work ethics" and also I think that, they are either bankrupt or out of funds to settle the claims. Reading the other reviews by other people seems to be this way. They can't settle the claims, because they have no money.

Okay so, I have a claim for 199 euros. Medical expenses abroad. I provided them with, the prescription, the bill and, the receipt from the terminal.

What did I get as reply? The following.

For us to proceed with your claim, we will need the following documentation:

*Proof that you’re studying abroad.
*A copy of your Visa.
*A copy of your passport.
*The hospital documents (translated in English).
*A bank statement of the payments made to the hospital.
*Your boarding pass of arrival & departure(should you already have one)

Without this documentation we will not be able to evaluate your claim.

I mean, are they crazy? It's 199 euros, it's not even worth my time to gather all those documents. Besides the fact, that they want me to translate the documents to English? A notarized translation will cost me around 100 euros.

So, I paid, 199, plus another 100 euros. For, them to maybe pay me 199? Absolute insanity.

Follow my advice, stay away from this company.

They are extremely unreasonable.

Just for contrast. All the other insurance companies in the world, will process 99% of your claims for under 499 euros. Almost instantly and they won't ask you for a huge list of nonsense documents.

HORRIBLE COMPANY.

In case they try to take my review down. I DO HAVE a policy. Number, ISIE-426898 .

please pay attention, this is a horrible service from this company, since you bought the insurance service, there is no people pick up the phone with the hotline, no email answer, i think this company is not legit and i already report to the police.

if there was a zero rating on this app.I applied for my insurance for visa application, i clearly stated my appointment date and never recieved any response. not even a confirmation of the transaction. I paid and literally got ghosted! I tried logging into my account but at this point, you see the trend.

Good customer service

I haven't had a claim yet, but recently switched from another insurance to SwissCare and SwissCare made it very easy and was very helpful in the process.

Pretty mediocre experience with this…

Pretty mediocre experience with this company.

Recently I submitted a claim with them. They had me waiting for over 1 month.

Then suddenly. They refused my claim for no reason, no explanation.

I just got an email " Your claim has been refused"
and that's all.

It was a pretty small amount , medical care outside of Europe. Not even the USA.

It seems that this company is involvent. They've probably run out of money, and it seems that they can't settle claims anymore.

I did a quick search online and oh wow, they've got very negative reviews piling up the last couple months.

My advice is stay away from this company, they've probably gone bankrupt.

There are other far more reliable companies out there, try allianz or bupa.

Unprofessional, unresponsive

I hesitated to give yet another bad review and I gave them a lot of chances to resolve my problem over the last few days before I came here again. I've contacted them through their web message tool and also directly to email. They have not responded to several courteous requests to cancel a policy for over a week now. But even with the threat of another bad review and a chargeback from my credit card company they continue to be unresponsive. The one message I received back asked for a formal request to cancel but that was the first request I made almost two weeks ago and I responded with that. I was going to call them but they do not provide a toll-free number and last time it cost me 34 € to try to solve my previous problem by phone, which they did.
This company is very unprofessional. I am now contacting my credit card company for the chargeback. That seems to get their attention.

A world class insurance company

A world class insurance company. I was initially somewhat apprehensive when I first purchased the policy as I had never heard of the company Swisscare. It turns out they're policies backed by one of the largest insurance companies in the Netherlands.

They're website makes it easy to submit claims, and the extensiveness of their international student policy's coverage is impressive.

But where they really shine is their customer service. They're hold times are a few minutes at most to reach the claims department, and the promptness in their handling of claims and responses is something to be admired.

Keep up the great work Swisscare!
