Summerwood is a great company to work with. Our kit was delivered to our job site. The included build instructions were a little generic for our kit, but when we called the office they were extremely helpful and were able to walk our foreman through the entire build. Our client is very happy with her Sanara pool cabana.

The original customer service rep had very little experience and was hard to reach. He even gave me the wrong square footage for stone I was ordering myself. This was a huge mistake. I think he was off by 500 square ft. Luckily Anthony Saint was available when the other guy was off. Anthony straightened everything out and things went pretty smooth the rest of the fabrication process. As far as delivery, I was awakened at 8:00 am to a semi truck driver who couldn’t get down my street. It was raining and he wanted us to unload it half a block away. He wanted us to take the shed off at the gate and walk it to my house. We never got a call from them to schedule the shipment and the delivery company couldn’t get the semi to our house. They made it my problem, all day. They called all day. Instead of working with summerwood directly logistics and the trucking company both called me to figure out what to do. All they would have had to do is contact a local mover, logistics local company. I finally found a local company myself, after hours of stress and crying. I found someone who would pick up the shipment, take it apart and deliver it. I am so disappointed that they put this on me. I in no way know anything about shipment logistics or how to unload 3,000 pound shipment. However the quality of the shed, so far is excellent. Again very disappointed in this process but thankful a few people knew what customer service was. Thanks to Anthony Saint with Summerwood and a local company called Nevis shipping, I got my shed and it’s looking darling as it’s being built.

The whole experience was positive except that I had a little trouble with the online design system that led me to have some uncertainty about what I was ordering. All my questions were answered once humans were involved. I was a little surprised at how quickly a 50% deposit was required. Aside from that, everything else has been positive so far.

Summerwood knocked this one out of the park. 11' Catalina (pre-cut) went together flawlessly.

Customer service was top notch. John and Anthony were very helpful answering all of my questions during the design, and accommodating several design changes along the way. Ray's support during the build was incredible. One of the guys helping me couldn't believe how quick he responded to an email and took a phone call on a Saturday night about a question with the roof.

Design, delivery and build were seamless. Looking forward to my next Summerwood structure. Thanks!!!

I'll caveat that our Palmerston was built during the peak supply chain issues, when materials and labour were both difficult to secure. Summerwood did the best job they could given the challenging circumstances, with a focus on customer service.

Staff were helpful on every step of the process!

Our prefabricated 14' Monterey gazebo was delivered from their factory to our home in the Northern burbs of Chicago in February 1994. It was erected that May and after 30 years it has weathered every season since. Only the cedar shakes have been replaced. The Canadian Western Red Cedar construction shows no sign of deterioration. You can always tell the measure of a company by the after sale support. Summerwood has continued to support our needs for 30 years and counting. Thanks to the entire Summerwood team. Summerwood provided design options for shell and recommended concrete contractor. Interior contractor provided spray foam insulation and interior design, radiant floor heating. After 1 year, I am very satisfied. And much happier in my backyard office, than working in my basement. I have worked outside every business day for the last year.

I remember when my brother and sister in law first got their summerwood building,we thought it was very impressive.We liked the look of it and the quality of the materials.So we finally picked a design that worked for us and approached summerwood.They we’re able to guide us through the whole process of design and the different options available to us,for example precut or pre assembled.We chose the pre assembled option so that we could construct it ourselves,it took two of us to do it but was manageable.The one thing that stands out most is the quality of all the materials and the instructions that came with it.I think they build their products with the best materials possible,and when I had a couple of questions about the assembly they had the answers right away.I’m sure our shed will be around for many years and it’s a bonus that it’s lovely to look at.I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another one if I had to in the future.

I ordered a Summerwood shed/building back in 2002 and it still looks fantastic! Great quality that LASTS. (the date of experience didn't give me the option to fill in 2002 😄)

We would like to commend Summerwood on
• the high quality and proper sizing of all the construction materials,
• the excellent and detailed instructions, and
• the quick responses to all our questions by telephone or email, even after business hours.

The bunkie parts are packaged on two pallets, which does not allow to keep them sorted from top to bottom in sequence necessary for building the bunkie. Therefore, frequent reshuffling of parts is necessary, especially if the construction takes a longer time and the wood has to be protected from weather. The bunkie comes with a detailed and extensive parts list, and it would be very helpful and save much time if all parts would be numbered and referenced in the list.

It would also be helpful to provide instructions specific to the individual bunkie only, and not an additional generic set, since the information in both is sometimes conflicting.

Things arrived in a timely and orderly fashion and the people were very good.

All the people I dealt with at Summerwood have been knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The company is large enough to be professional in its business activities, yet small enough to be efficient and to provide personal follow up between its departments and people.

It is very easy to complain about an experience when something goes amiss or plans change part way through the process. The construction of our Windsor Pool House was more than 18 months in the making!

Getting city permits was an ordeal and being so close to the Oak Ridges Moraine (part of the Greenbelt) made it very challenging to bring our vision for the Windsor Pool House to fruition.

Summerwood was a pleasure to work with once it was realized by everyone that we wanted their best version of themselves. The people were good listeners and more importantly good carpenters.

We couldn't be happier with our finished Windsor Pool House. It is our little getaway without going away, our outdoor showpiece for all of our friends to see and appreciate. The added ceiling height and our secret loft for sleeping and storage is a terrific use of every inch of space in the house and well worth every additional penny.

On July 8th, 2019 I purchase and 8 by 10 foot shed from Summerwood Products, 735 Progress Avenue, Scarborough, Ont. For the amount of $12,803.74 with a 2 year warranty, installed August 28th, 2019. Summer of 2021, last year of the warranty, I was housebound due to an injury. Summer 2022, I entered the shed and was shocked at the amount of water damage there was in the shed. The floor, the door and all horizontal boards from the roof line down. None of the corners, window frames and door frames were sealed. Sunlight was visible through most of the horizontal boards and knot holes. I contacted the company July 11th, 2022 and eventually dealt with Mr. Peter Harvey, President and CEO of the company. He insisted that I had an automatic sprinkler system on my property which was causing the problem. I do not. Sheds are purchased to store and protect items and the fact that it leaks as much as it does is very disappointing. But more so, even though the warranty was past, the president of the company did not address the problem and stand behind his product. The theory is that the cedar was not seasoned and over a period of 2 years dried after installation and shrunk creating gaps large enough that the sunlight was visible through the horizontal boards allowing rainwater to enter the building. The theory on the cracked window, it fit snuggly in the frame and as the shed settled it put pressure on the glass and it cracked. Mr. Harvey offered to replace the window for $490.00. I declined, he did advise me however to “go to any local hardware store, purchase caulking and have it installed between the pieces of siding”. . Eventually, after 37 e-mails and 10 months an employee came to my property and sealed all horizontal boards, windows, etc. in May 2023.
Rainwater was still entering the building and puddling on the floor. I hired a handy man who noticed the threshold board under the door slanted to the interior of the shed. He shimmed it up and problem solved. Continued water issue through knot holes and some horizontals. If you wish to purchase from this company, I encourage you to negotiate a 3 year contract, the amount of time unseasoned wood takes to dry out.
The response to this complaint was the same old story repeated many times over a period of 10 months from Mr. Peter Harvey. The client is at fault. Just to clear up. The warranty was 1 year past the due. There was an offer by Summerwood in January to seal all the horizontal boards however, we had 2 days of hard rain at the beginning of the month. The interior walls were saturated and then a hard freeze occurred. The walls were a sheet of ice. I don't believe a sprinkler would be used in January. My purpose to address this issue of a faulty product and negligent customer service is to make the company aware that there is a problem with their product and address it. I am pleased that the warranty has been extended from 2 years to 3 years. I feel that all my efforts have accomplished something and my fellow consumers will have a certain amount of protection.

Summerwood Products supplied and installed my Catalina Cabana approximately 8 years ago. Extremely happy with there product and workmen ship, well designed and constructed. Recently had the flower boxes replaced, looks like the day it was installed. Great team of people to work with, very polite and professional, took the time to go over and explain the process which made my decision so much easier. They have a great line of products and designs to choose from for any outdoor projects your are thinking about starting.

Great over all experience with summerwood Products. From the initial call to discuss options, design phase, delivery in California and follow up! Each step was done property and excellent. We are more than pleased with our Urban Studio. I highly recommend using Summerwood Products!!

Excellent product with great service along the way! I worked with a designer at Summerwood and they were able to customize the components I was looking for. I also appreciated the step by step instructions and knowing a service tech was available if I had questions along the way. So impressed with the quality of the lumber, product and service provided by Summerwood!

We have purchased two garden sheds, the Palmerston (20+ yrs old) and the Sarawak 7yrs old. Recently we noticed that the flower boxes on the Palmerston needed replacing, when I called Summerwood after all these years Anthony was very helpful for organizing the replacements. Both our sheds have stood the test of time and to this day we recieve compliments from passers by on how nice they look. I highly recommend Summerwood.

I purchased a Palmerston model garden shed for my husband in the late 90's. To this date (2023) it remains a focal point in the garden and with minimal care over the years, it has stood the test of time and still looks beautiful. Recently the window flower box had to be replaced and it is now back to its original beauty. Thank you to the fine folk at Summerwood, in particular John and Anthony.
