Unfortunately I have to write this review, but however I promote start-ups I believe they have some serious work to do at their customer service.

I ordered a promising backpack on 22th of october 2025. The delivery took about a few months, so eventually I ordered another one at the competition Salomon.
After a very very long while I got the news that the bag arrived in customs and extra taxes were needed. Surprising because I already payed taxes in the UK, but I could have known this ofcourse. I decided to let it be returned to sender and cancel the order - since I already was enjoying a nice alternative for a few months.

I contacted Stolt for a refund, a few times through mail, a few times through whatsapp. No response nor refund whatsoever...
I gave them a few chances to rectify this situation, but unfortunately there was no action nor response from their side.

A very expensive mistake!

I purchased the ultralight backpack. It was well described on the website so i knew what to expect. It is a really high quality product that I expect to last for many years. Importantly it is well designed, making it incredibly comfortable in use, and convenient with a nice closure and easy access zip.

I have been using the Stolt Hydration Vest for the past month for marathon training. Fantastic fit, balance, and quality.

The pocket design gives plenty of storage for energy gel packets and a mobile phone. The back compartment is a perfect fit for a shell, as to have it after a run.

The soft flasks are great and, for me, in the perfect position on the vest while running. Overall a fantastic product that takes into account design and function.

Incredible customer service for a smaller business, the founder emailed frequently with updates and problem solved a couple of issues with me. I gifted one to my friend and have used another myself. These are amazingly high quality rucksacks. I’ve put my rucksack through a number of runs and many a commute since Oct 24. In my experience they really care about their customers and I’m really pleased with my purchase. The attention to detail in the design is fantastic. Lots of practical compartments. I was also worried about how the rucksack would sit around my body particularly as a shorter woman and I can confirm it’s very comfortable and secure. I can also fit my laptop and some papers in the back pocket comfortably. Definitely worth the investment.

I’ve been a loyal Stolt customer since I bought my first backpack six years ago. The Alpha backpack has been around Europe with me and still looks as good as new.

It’s perfect for my day to day commute; taking a change of clothes for night’s out; and for overnight or ‘travelling light’ weekends away.

It’s clear from the quality of the materials, the design, comfort and features and attention to detail that Stolt backpacks are designed by runners for runners. And they look great too!

That’s what’s made me a repeat customer. I now mix up using my Alpha and the smaller Podium, depending on my day. (My teenage son has the Athlete model for college - it’s not often that he copies me!).

As a relative newcomer to ultra running, I was delighted that Stolt have launched hydration backpacks. I’ve just roadtested my new Athlete Ultralight. It absolutely hits the spot for a light, robust and practical pack for training and events. Looking forward to clocking up lots of miles with it.

After my review here (guess I could have contacted Customer Service...) I got a call from the company - apparently there had been an issue on their backend and my order was missed.

Fast forward two days, and the backpack is here... and I can start run commuting! Grateful for the quick resolution and the backpack looks great - will feed back on how it feels to run with.

I originally purchased the Commuter Backpack in November 2023 and recently picked up the performance hydration vest. Both products are excellent - I run / bike with the backpack to work but also use it as my general work bag. It fits very comfortably and securely when running. The vest is really well designed and fits great. Customer service throughout both experiences with Stolt was exceptional.

I’ve been using the Stolt Athlete Backpack and the 4L Hydration Vest, and both have massively exceeded expectations. The quality is outstanding — everything feels durable, well-made and built for real training.

The Athlete Backpack is brilliantly designed: lightweight, comfortable and packed with genuinely useful features. It fits a surprising amount without ever feeling bulky, and the organisation makes it ideal for commuting, gym sessions or long days out.

The 4L Hydration Vest is just as impressive. It sits perfectly without any bounce, and the pockets are exactly where you want them. The materials feel premium, the fit is secure, and the whole thing is clearly designed by people who actually understand endurance athletes.

Overall, Stolt have nailed it — great functionality, great comfort and rock-solid quality. Highly recommend.

I ordered the Athlete Ultralight shortly after release and have been absolutely loving it - perfectly fits a laptop and a change of clothes for my commute. The pockets in the straps are perfect for all the odd bits you need access to on a run and it's great even in the rain.

Extremely helpful team - they went out of their way to help me get what I needed on time. The Athlete bag is brilliant!

Bought for my wife as Birthday present, after reading Runners world bench test, she has a two mile run to railway station. Her job gave her a 17" Laptop made of lead and she like to carry two huge drinks flasks with her. She states the backpack has transformed her run and she can barely feel the load on her back. The bag itself feels durable and looks well made. Well worth the money.

Recently picked up an Alpha backpack for commute and it’s great. Really well made and can hold my 16 inch MacBook, running gear, lunch, 1 litre chillies bottle and few bits and bobs. Even when packed up it’s comfy to run with. Delighted with my purchase. Customer service very nice to deal with too.

I use the Alpha backpack for my run commute and it works really well. It sits comfortably without bouncing even when carrying my laptop and a change of clothes. Feels sturdy and well made and the straps make it easy to adjust. Looks good enough to take into the office too. Really happy with it.

I have a high-quality Stolt backpack that keeps my belongings organized. I really like its style, and the garment box is excellent for travel. I also purchased a Stolt cap with a great fit. Shipping was fast. Both products have served me very well!

I really like that i can wear my bag for commuting to our elegant office in London Canary Wharf and that it is also an accessory that is fashionable, it makes me look younger and i see younger people wearing similar bags on the tube. It protects my laptop to the highest standards and it is comfortable to cycle or run with for hours.

Their backpack is absolutely stunning. Well-build, great function!

I don’t mind paying extra for quality and durability, but with this product I feel a bit short-changed.
I’ve been running with the bag for about a month. It is a comfortable bag to run with but there's a few minor annoyances I can live with:
- The detachable running belt is useful, but once the run is over there’s no quick or tidy way to stow it.
- The chest strap constantly slips upward—an adjustable strap should really lock into place.
- The garment box takes up too much space; at a smaller size, there would be room for a pair of shoes above it while still being able to close the bag properly.

Those issues are manageable. My main concern, however, is that the bag is not waterproof. I had my first rainy commute this morning, and when I opened the bag the inside was wet. It looks like water is getting through the stitching. Worse still, my laptop compartment was also wet—my tablet was damp, which I think is unacceptable for a commuter or running bag.
I did my homework before buying—the reviews were strong, and Runner’s World even called this the best commuter bag. Unfortunately, my experience hasn’t matched that reputation.
Water resistance should be a baseline feature for a product marketed for commuting and running in all conditions.
