Needs work
The checking process was overly convoluted and dysfunctional at times.
The fact that the key fob is placed inside of the apartment complex behind security gates, means if there’s no one at the office, you can’t get in. And again, upon check out you need somebody to let you back in to go grab your car from the garage.
Otherwise, the place was clean. The very basic necessities were provided.
Parking was located on the eighth floor, even though apartment was on the second floor.
The only option for a Dolly was a cheap, small/broken one. And this is important because it’s quite a long walk from the parking garage to the apartment door in the hallways.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback, Khodadad. We’re glad to hear you found the apartment clean and that the basic necessities were provided.
We’re sorry the check-in and parking logistics felt overly complicated. We do want to clarify that our check-in process is designed to allow guests to access the building independently through the Butterfly app, and the apartment fob is secured in a lockbox located at the apartment door. Once guests have completed the initial check-in and have the fob, the access issue you described is no longer a concern during the remainder of the stay.
That said, we understand that navigating a new building, garage, access system, and luggage can be frustrating, particularly upon arrival. We also appreciate your comments regarding the parking location and the condition of the dolly available at the property. We will review the equipment and our pre-arrival instructions to see where we can make the process clearer and more convenient for future guests.
Thank you again for bringing these concerns to our attention. Your feedback is valuable as we continue to improve the guest experience.

Amazing experience with Stay Sojo at Modera Academic Village!
I had an amazing experience staying at Modera Academic Village, with the entire stay coordinated and provided through Stay Sojo. From beginning to end, their service was exceptional.
The Stay Sojo team made everything easy and convenient. They were available 24/7, responded promptly to all of my inquiries, addressed every concern, and answered all of my questions, making the entire process smooth and stress-free.
The apartment itself was spacious, very clean, fully furnished, and incredibly well equipped. Stay Sojo clearly thought about every small detail—from utensils, pots and pans, and linens to soap, laundry detergent, and even cleaning supplies and equipment. Everything was ready and thoughtfully prepared for my arrival.
I truly appreciate how organized and attentive the Stay Sojo team was throughout my stay. They made what could have been a complicated process incredibly easy.
I highly recommend Stay Sojo to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped place to stay with outstanding service. Thank you, Stay Sojo, for making my experience such a wonderful one!

The location is wonderful
The location is wonderful. I stayed here for 7 weeks for corporate housing. My check-in was very disjointed, and it took over an hour to get my keys. Once there, the furniture is dated. The appliances are great, and the building itself is very safe. The workout room is a nice feature; however, pool access was hit or miss.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Aryan. We are sorry to hear that your experience with Stay Sojo was unpleasant, and you endured out-of-pocket expenses during your internship. We truly wish we had known about your experience during your 3-month stay to have the opportunity to improve our service and address the unnecessary expenses you encountered. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry we missed the chance to make your overall experience a more positive one.

Two stays for roughly half year each
I stayed twice for about six months each over a two-year period. In both cases, Rebecca McAra of Stay Sojo took wonderful care. Furnishings were appropriate. The few times I reached out, I received good response. Perhaps best of all, it was just easy.

The apartment was beautiful and provided a very comfortable stay. My only "minor complaint" was that I was there working on my masters at Duke and my apartment faced the pool. The noise from the pool in the afternoons was extremely distracting.

This is my third time with Sojo
This is my third time with Sojo. Customer service is always incredible. Unfortunately this apartment was very subpar compared to 8800 AMLI down the street and the Capitol View location I stayed in Nashville. The elevator did not work on my side of the apartment unit the last week which was unfortunate. They were pressure washing the parking garage and it was hard to keep up with where I was suppose to park. This is all things out of your control and once again StaySojo is great just this specific apartment was not as comfortable as the other locations I have stayed before. The only thing with the unit was the fridge filter for water was stating it was past replacement from Day 1 and the iron did not work and would leak any water you would put into it. I am well aware I could have emailed and I know with how amazing the service with StaySojo has been in the past they would have fixed those issures immediately but with the line of work we go for there was just never any time and it didn't disrupt me to much. StaySojo gets 5 starts but this specific complex was the reason for less stars.

Svar från Stay Sojo
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback and for choosing Stay Sojo for a third stay. We truly appreciate your kind words about our customer service and are grateful for your continued trust in us.
We're sorry to hear that this apartment did not meet the standards you've experienced at our other locations. While some of the issues you mentioned—such as the elevator outage and parking garage maintenance—were outside of our direct control, we understand how they impacted your overall comfort and experience.
We also appreciate you bringing the refrigerator filter notification and malfunctioning iron to our attention. While we're glad these issues did not significantly disrupt your stay, they should have been addressed before your arrival, and we've shared this feedback with our operations team to help prevent similar oversights in the future.
Your recognition that our team would have responded quickly means a great deal to us, and we're thankful for your understanding throughout your stay. Feedback like yours helps us improve both our accommodations and our guest experience.
Thank you again for your loyalty and for distinguishing between your experience with the property and your experience with Stay Sojo. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again and provide a stay that better reflects the high standards you've come to expect from us.
Strange “Security”
Tenant/occupants made to complete background checks containing all sensitive personal data. Apartments/lodging is a fully open neighborhood with zero security. Strangers have access to the same premises where tenants went through background screening. Seems counter-productive.
13 maj 2026
Svar från Stay Sojo
Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding both the screening process and the community layout. Background checks are required as part of our standard leasing process to help provide a safe and reliable experience for all residents and guests staying in our apartments.
That said, we understand your point regarding the open-access nature of the surrounding community. The apartments are integrated within a mixed-use neighborhood rather than being part of a fully gated or private complex, which may feel different from more traditional secured residential buildings. While the property itself follows the security measures established by the building and management, we understand that individual comfort levels with accessibility and privacy can vary.
We appreciate you sharing your experience, as feedback like this helps set accurate expectations for future guests and residents.
Longterm stay.
Having a place that was very nice and clean close to work made it good. But, the extensive process with paper work I had to go through just to lease for a 10 days was a turn off. Much easier to get a hotel room. Go for the points.
Having said that, I did enjoy my stay and would recommend it to others for a longer stay.

Svar från Stay Sojo
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the apartment home, found it clean and convenient to your work location, and that you would recommend us for a longer stay.
Our standard minimum stay is typically 30 days, and because we operate furnished apartment homes rather than traditional hotel accommodations, there is additional paperwork required to help ensure the security of both our guests and communities. We understand this process can feel more extensive for shorter stays, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.
Svar från Stay Sojo
We’re sorry to hear there was confusion regarding key access upon your arrival. We understand how important a smooth check-in experience is for our guests. We continually review and improve our arrival instructions to make the process as clear and seamless as possible, including confirming key retrieval details prior to arrival for future guests.
We appreciate your business and value your feedback. If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know.
