Starline Tours does not respond to…
Starline Tours does not respond to Better Business Bureau Inquiry or email inquiry.
The Better Business Bureaus of Florida and Los Angeles, my travel agent, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), TD Visa, and Universal Studios all agree I should be refunded the cost of 2 tickets to Universal Studios by either Bedsonline or Starline Tours. Starline Tours has not responded to my email inquiry, or an inquiry from the Better Business Bureau.
Bedsonline uses a Third Party, Starline Tours, to supply tickets to Universal Studios. Starline Tours Kiosk was not available May 5, 2023 due to a street closure for an event. A voucher from Bedsonline was to be redeemed for 2 Tickets to Universal Studios there. Starline Tours bus driver honoured the Hop On Hop Off tickets, but wasn’t able to exchange my voucher for Universal Studios tickets, or direct me to their Kiosk. Next day at Universal Studios, tickets were not valid. I paid another $248 USD to enter the park.
My travel agent contacted Bedsonline, and eventually got this response:
"Greetings from Bedsonline. We have contacted our supplier with this claim, but unfortunately, they are denying a refund for the mentioned services. Indeed, the guest was able to redeem the voucher (bus tickets) on May 4 at 3:51 PM with a Red Route Driver, but regarding the tickets, (Universal Studio) those were redeemable on Starline module located in front of the Dolby Theater (not inside the theater), which was open during the service date. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the reservation will not be able to be refunded this time. Please feel free to contact us with any other inquiry."
I feel Bedsonline is responsible for my refund from Starline Tours. It’s up to them to resolve any problems with their suppliers. Bedsonline did not respond to a Better Business Bureau Inquiry.
Starline Tours does not respond to a Better Business Bureau Inquiry either. Both BBB in Florida and Los Angeles have not been able to contact these businesses, and have since closed each case.
I have also contacted the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), and their reply is:
Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) can offer consumer assistance only if the consumer has booked through an Ontario registered travel company / tour operator. In this instance, your booking was made through xxxx xxxx but the complaint is against the end supplier. As such, your complaint, however valid, is outside of TICO’s jurisdiction as we do not regulate end-suppliers. (i.e., airlines, hotels, cruise lines or out of province tour operators).
Universal Studios has also attempted to assist me, but they did not sell the tickets. TD Visa is now involved with an investigation.
UPDATED NOTE : TD VISA has since reimbursed the entire amount I have claimed.
