This school gives tradition-accurate teachings with a well-organized curriculum. The accommodations, food, and overall training environment were excellent.
My concern is with the leadership rather than the material itself. Students were strictly required to maintain discipline around yoga, clean diet, purity, and embodiment. Yet the founder did not hold himself to the same standards. It was known that he regularly left the retreat to eat elsewhere, while students followed the school’s dietary rules. His physical condition also suggested he was not consistently practicing the mandatory morning yoga.
A bigger issue is transparency. The school’s website and promotional materials continue to present Somananda and Liisa Maimon in a way that strongly implies they are still a couple. At graduation, Soma introduced Liisa as his “partner of many years.” In reality, it was openly known among students that they have been separated for years and are each in relationships with staff members (former students). I have no issue with their personal lives, my concern is the mismatch between the public presentation and reality.
I was genuinely interested in their relationships and sexuality course, hoping for guidance on sustaining passion and depth in a long-term partnership. This discrepancy left me with little confidence in the leadership’s guidance on relationships. The lack of transparency feels misleading in a spiritual school.
During satsangs, deeper questions were often shut down (“that’s covered in another course”), and responses sometimes carried a defensive, legalistic tone instead of open spiritual discussion. In a vulnerable environment involving energy work and intimacy, students deserve full congruence and humility from the teachers.
The teachings themselves hold real value. I hope Somananda and Liisa cultivate the humility, transparency, and embodiment they ask of their students. Greater honesty would significantly strengthen the school’s credibility.

The meditation course was very insightful. I feel like a new more complete person after the course.

All teachers are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Content of class are interesting and easy to relate with.

Powerful yoga (Level 1) and very professional teachings.

It was an amazing course from start to finish.. The learnings were overwhelming with phenomenal information, techniques, and Transformational ways of being...if applied.They were cautious with individuals with health concerns... Only giving gentle persuasion to encourage us to move through some techniques that may challenge us. If you are on the path to wellness and Spiritual Wellbeing.. This is an eye opening path for you.

We attended the Taste of Tantra weekend as a couple. While I have prior experience with similar events, my partner does not. Unfortunately, we found the atmosphere quite self-absorbed and unwelcoming. Observing a male teacher openly flirt with some of the younger participants, framed as an expression of “love,” felt inappropriate and in poor taste.
That said, the woman who organises the events deserves recognition — her vision feels genuine and should be acknowledged.

What an AMAZING online experience! As someone who isn't a fan of online learning, the structure of this course kept me engaged. I enjoyed the mix of lectures, instructors and practice. Can't wait for my next online course.

I completed two training programs at this school. Both were extremely well-structured and of very high quality. For those seeking an authentic spiritual Tantra path, this is the right place.

What Tantra gave me I can describe indirectly. We should all try to build our lives like a house - start with the fundament and build onwards. Very often people don’t have this sequence and concept and in most cases even it is not their fault, they just don’t happen to know. That’s how many of the houses are crooked, upsides down, lacking fundament etc. So for me Tantra rearranged the puzzle. Taught me how to build the house, what is import and how to get where I want to be in life.

I participated in the taste of tantra online course. The true and deep teachings that the school is willing to share with us blew my mind. There is so much on offer that could benefit so many of us. I wish I could take all their courses available as I felt so much more empowered after that weekend. So many truths and powers that are in all of us, yet not easily access through our 'daily lives'. Somananda Tantra School by no chance is the pinnacle of spirituality. I did the TMT course and I left feeling empowered, skilled, and ready to practice what I've learnt in my own practice. The teachers are always available and kindly supportive of each individual. The people I've met are truly a blessings.
