Hi Marissa--Thank you for being a Smart Retract customer and for your wonderful 5-star review. We take pride in our customer service, so please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks, Smart Retract.
Love the Smart Retract: very well-designed and manufactured.
Love the Smart Retract. Is easy to install and very effective in keeping my puppy contained when required. It is great that I can see her through the mesh and she me without there being wooden or metal pieces for her to munch on. The mesh is very strong - she has thrown herself at it occasionally and just bounces back gently. Very excellent product.
The customer service also is excellent. I called the company to ask a few questions and they were very pleasant, responsive and informative. They have the most secure paywall I have ever encountered. If you don't enter your address exactly as it is with your credit card company (e.g. don't enter Avenue if the card has your address as Ave) your order will be rejected. Very reassuring.
Delivery was very rapid. I'm thrilled that I found this company and product. Finally the instructions come with a lot of detail for installation if this is to be used as a baby gate. The company clearly takes safety very seriously.
Highly recommend.

Hi Susan--thank you for being a Smart Retract customer and for your excellent review! It is tempting to buy something cheaper, but the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is very true here as well. We take pride in our customer service, so please let us know if you ever have any questions. Thanks, Smart Retract
This is a great product
This is a great product. I recommend however that you change the plastic clips for metal ones. Since installing the gate, I have replaced all of the clips twice. I have a large dog and a couple of cats. The gate stands up to the dog charging it without problem, however the plastic clips eventually fail and break.

Hi--thank you for your feedback. Retract-A-Gate is certified for use at the top and bottom of the stairs, has been tested for that application, and can withstand a push out force of up to 200 pounds. The Mounting Brackets are covered by a lifetime warranty to the original owner and we will replace any broken brackets free of charge. The issue you described of all your brackets breaking is very unusual and we'd like to know more. Please contact our Customer Service at info@SmartRetract.com for further assistance. Thanks, Smart Retract.

This seemed like THE solution ...but
This seemed like THE solution to keep our dog out of parts of the house where he gets into trouble when we are gone. Unfortunately the mounts are way wider than our 70's era door mouldings, and there's no stud next to it to attach the gate hardware. So disappointing to spend that much money on what seemed like the perfect solution, only to find it's unusable for our needs :( My husband is a builder, so he can usually solve any kind of problem like this, so when even he said no-go it was really a bummer. Money totally wasted.

Great customer service and product
Great customer service. I have a tricky installation that they help me figure out and drew a diagram on the pictures I provided. I have gone threw a couple of other pet and baby gates and these are by far the best and highest quality. Worth every penny.

Alvast bedankt!

The retractagate was very easy to install at the top of our outside deck. It fit perfectly as well. Excellent quality materials! You have to be careful to retract the mesh, however, as if it goes in crooked, there will be a crease in the mesh.

Hi there Ladyshannara - Thanks for your nice feedback, we really appreciate hearing from you! Ease of installation is one of the many features we scrutinized heavily when developing Retract-A-Gate, I'm glad it helped you! Take care ~ Marc from Smart Retract.
We love our Retract-a-Gate
We love our Retract-a-Gate! Stepping over baby gates (for years!) isn't my favorite. I love that once the baby is in bed we don't have to deal with a permanent barrier. It works really well, looks nice in our living room area, and was definitely worth the price!

Hi kathryn - Thanks for sharing your Retract-A-Gate experience with us, we love to hear how folks are using and enjoying the gate. Your very reasons are why the gate was invented in the first place. If you ever need any further assistance, please email us at info@SmartRetract.com and we'd be happy to help. ~ Marc at Smart Retract.
Great American Made Product
The gate was easy to install and is great at keeping our baby away from the stairs. We really like the fact that when we don't need it we can retract it and we don't have to mess with it unlike fixed gates that are always in the way. I also love that it's made here in the USA. A great company employing wonderful people. Thank You.

The perfect gate
This is the perfect gate for us at the top of the stairs. When not it use it is out of the way and the simple clean design looks like it belongs as part of the house. It is out of the way and not even noticeable. When in use it is very easy to open and close and again it looks very clean a natural part of the house, not an add on piece of equipment. The construction is very good and will last a very long time. Well worth the price.

The retract a gate has been fabulous. It has kept our puppy out of the lounge in our otherwise open plan house. Quick and easy to use relatively discreet and means we get the best of both worlds. I would highly recommend it.

Great product, fast delivery - couldn't be happier.
Needed more spacers so perhaps a bit more guidance would be helpful there but not worth getting hung up on - even then, they arrived within a few days.
