Do not park in smart parking because it scamming parking .

Do not park in smart parking because it’s scam I park my car I paid for 1 h on 21th of feb the fine turned up 7 days later, I send them in email with proof of payment from my bank and the time and location, they didn’t accept it. I just paid the fine I’m so unhappy I don’t want any one being scammed like this please be aware and try to avoid it as much as you can. It’s not worth parking in there.

Accessibility issues and wholly out of order PCNs

I was appalled to hear that Smart Parking charged a good friend of mine who is hard of hearing a PCN. She took my son to a hockey training session on a freezing Friday night in the dark when it was absolutely pouring with rain and extremely windy. She entered the first character of her vehicle reg three times and the rest of it 100% correctly, paid fully for her parking, and Smart Parking had the cheek to give her a parking fine and refused her appeal. Their machines are NOT accessible to people who have 20/20 vision in the dark as they have no lighting around them at all, combine that with an individual who has additional difficulties due to hearing which makes her flustered at times is a challenge. Smart Parking should be ashamed of themselves making money on people who have clearly tried to do the right thing, have paid fully, and whose only error was to enter the first character of their reg three times.

I wish these lot nothing but misery for…

I wish these lot nothing but misery for eternity, special place for these kind of people. Looks like I'm not the only one who's had a very devastating experience with this company. I really hope this company collapses, it is inevitable. Leave hard working people's money alone. Work hard to earn your money, don't prey on other people's blood sweat and tears.

Was ist das bitte für eine Art den…

Was ist das bitte für eine Art den Menschen das Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen. Es kann ja immer mal etwas schief laufen und dafür ist eine kommunikative Ebene völlig ratsam und wichtig. Sie melden sich aber nicht per Mail zurück, wenn man sie anschreibt und entsprechende Nachweise zur Klarstellung liefert. Versenden aber Drohbriefe in Form von Mahnungen. Das ist nicht i.O.
Beschwerde unter anderem auch an den Verbraucherschutz ist abgeschickt worden.

Es grenzt schon an Betrug

Es grenzt schon an Betrug! So schlimm ist meine Erfahrung. Am 10.03.2026 bekam meine Frau einen Brief von Smart Parking Germany GmbH. Unser Fahrzeug soll angeblich von 16:11 bis 19:58 bei ALDI in Hansering 9 geparkt haben. Es ist aber falsch! Ich habe auf dem Parkplatz am 23.02.2026 zwei mal geparkt. Ein Mal für eine Stunde und das zweite Mal nur für ca. 10 min. Trotzdem wird eine Vertragsstrafe in Höhe von 38,- erhoben. Interessanterweise müssen die Kameras unser Auto insgesamt vier Mal erfasst haben. Es bestärkt bei uns der Verdacht, dass es mit Absicht passiert. Wenn am Tag 1000 Fahrzeuge am Parkplatzgelände parken und es werden ca. 100 Autos zu Unrecht wegen Überschreiten aufgeschrieben. So macht es einen Umsatz von 3800,- Wie viele Leute zahlen einfach stillschweigend, ohne die Stimme zu erheben. Übrigens wurde Ende März das Parkplatz Überwachungssystem von Smart Parking vom ALDI-Parkplatz wieder entfernt. Auf die Reaktion des Betreibers auf unseren Wiederspruch warten wir immer noch.

One of the worst parking experiences…

One of the worst parking experiences I’ve had.

I exited Seaton car park 17 minutes after my ticket expired, despite a stated 10-minute grace period. The way this is enforced feels unreasonable and completely disproportionate, particularly given how unclear the rules are on-site.

The signage is poor and fails to clearly explain how timing is calculated, especially with ANPR in operation. There is no transparency, and drivers are left guessing how these systems are actually being applied.

It is also concerning that Smart Parking is no longer a member of the British Parking Association and instead operates under the International Parking Community. From my experience, this does not inspire confidence in the level of fairness or oversight.

Customer service has been extremely poor. Every response has been a generic template that ignores the specific points raised. Questions are not answered, concerns are not addressed, and there is no meaningful engagement—just repetitive, dismissive replies.

The overall impression is of a system that prioritises issuing charges over treating customers fairly or resolving legitimate concerns.

Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using this parking provider.

I would strongly advise avoiding this car park altogether.

Beware- businesses considering Smart Parking should look elsewhere!

Beware!

I recently was issued a parking fine at Hotel near work, that I used for meetings etc. I hired a meeting room, and forgot to register my number plate.

I received the first letter from Smart Parking, which I quickly appealed by providing the invoice for the same day demonstrating I was a paying customer of the hotel.

Smart Parking dismissed this, stating despite the evidence I provided, my actions on the day did not comform with their T&Cs so my appeal was not upheld.

I was made aware, I could appeal their decision with the statutory body governing the parking industry, The IAS.

I attempted to appeal via the IAS's portal, and it did not recognise the SP reference issued by Smart Parking.

I contacted Smart Parking to seek assistance with having the SP reference recognised by the IAS. You are not able to contact by phone so had to be email.

Smart Parking emailed me two days after the period in which I could appeal closed. stating I had timed out, had no further right of appeal and should pay the charge immediately.

I paid, "under protest" to prevent further action, and to keep my ability to recover later open.

Shocking, a hard to believe this can be allowed in the UK.

If you see a car park marked SMART…

If you see a car park marked SMART PARKING avoid it at all costs. Even when the machine doesn’t work and the exit is blocked they still send you a fine. Even when you try to pay the fine using every available option they give you it doesn’t allow you to pay until your PCN reaches the maximum amount payable.

I only park in the dissabled parking…

I only park in the dissabled parking bay and they do not tell you on the sign that its 4hrs time. All the other signs around the car park are clearly marked 4hrs but they have the back of the sign towards the Blue Badge parking to witch you cant see so you are unaware that there is a time limit. Big scam.

I have been given a fine in a NHS car…

I have been given a fine in a NHS car park despite being a full time employee there. I have appealed the fine and have heard nothing back for a long time. I’ve emailed multiple times and sent messages to their complaints line and had no response. I think it’s disgusting considering the fines that they implement that there isn’t a single person to speak to at customer service .

Robbing b*st#rds have got me a CCJ, sent me a court letter a day before Christmas Eve, obviously the court was shut when I tried to contact them! Then someone dealt with it before the court reopened in Northampton! The car park was in Bradford on Avon and I had lunch in the establishment years ago, I clearly displayed my disabled badges also. AVOID THESE CAR PARKS AT ALL COSTS! I have no idea how a company like this can still profit daily in totally illegitimate way!! Atrocious company, I would love to know who’s behind it but there is no information anywhere??

In einem harschen Schreiben wurde mir…

In einem harschen Schreiben wurde mir ein Parkverstoss angezeigt und Mahngebühren bei Nichtzahlung in Aussicht gestellt. Der angebliche Beweis stellt sich als völlig falsch heraus, da es sich nicht um mein Auto handelte. Keine Entschuldigung, lange Wartezeiten auf die Antwort mit der Einstellung des Vorgangs (bis nach der gesetzten Zahlungsfrist). Untrustworthy!

I parked in one of their car parks…

I parked in one of their car parks whilst dropping someone off and was issued a fine for parking with one of my wheels on the hazard lines i appealed and heard nothing for 3yrs then started getting bombarded with letters and emails not mentioning the first offence but they changed and said I had overstayed I have asked for proof of this as by their own admission I was there for 25min but the first hour is free which I explained to them they have ignored all this i now have a fine from the court so have been bullied into paying for a parking offence that I didn't commit because the court have been no help whatsoever I am almost 80yrs old blue badge driver and on attendance allowance and have no idea why the courts are allowing this company to get away with this

Got fined for not paying for parking…

Got fined for not paying for parking after the pay machine showed THERE WAS NOTHING TO PAY. I appealed and they rejected it stating they believe I should still have paid.... I will never pay these scammers.

Det er på grænsen til bedrageri. Simpelthen.

Jeg kørte ind i et parkeringshus med automatisk nummerpladeregistrering. Jeg tænker med det samme, at den selfølgelig "automatisk" "registrere" min nummerplade, men nej. Jeg ender med 875 kr i forruden efter. Regler er regler, men det er fuldstændig misvisende at skrive som de gør! Det er jo næsten identisk skilt der er i de parkeringshuse hvor den rent faktisk registrere din nummerplade. Kundeservice siger jo bare at der er forskel på nummerpladeregistrering og nummerpladebetaling. Dumt. Undgå deres parkeringshuse så vi kan få stoppet deres mange millioner i overskud.

Blood-sucking vampires

I am a taxi driver. I am constantly picking someone up from the taxi office or dropping people off and leaving. They sent me a fine claiming I parked for 20 hours and 59 minutes on Saturday. On a Saturday, I didn’t stay there for 20 minutes, let alone 20 hours. Of course, everything is online now. It is clear which jobs I took and from where on that day. At the very moment they claim I was there, I was miles away in a completely different place. Every place I visited is recorded on my Google Timeline. I have filed my appeal.

These people are morons who cannot even properly record entry and exit times. The result of the appeal doesn't even matter never, ever take these people seriously. They are low-life, blood-sucking vampires who have made a habit out of robbery. The problem is what I always say, as long as the government does not perform its duty to regulate them properly, they will carry out this theft forever. We are governed by such pathetic politicians in such a miserable country that number of these cowboys will only increase, never disappear.
