Just a poor quality speaker — not bone conduction tech
This is not bone conduction technology— it’s a tinny little speaker. I am in the process of returning it. Everyone can hear it, not just the user. My bone conduction devices that I use in other applications are only audible to the wearer. AND the sound quality is horrendously poor.

I listen to audio books
I listen to audio books. I have a Baja cochlear hearing devise and was excited to be able to have the same bone conduction listening experience in bed. However, some narratives sound muffled/ unclear. Still better than not hearing.

I’m not sure you can improve
I’m not sure you can improve. First the volume didn’t go high enough. Second the instructions were hard to follow. I didn’t understand what a long push was and it was only by trial and error that I got it synched with my iPod. Finally although this isn’t you—I have no idea how to store podcasts on an SD card to listen that way. But the main thing is that it is very hard to hear spoken words. Music might be different it that’s not what I wanted it for.

Thank you for your feedback. There are 2 ways in which you increase the volume for the speaker. If you haven't tried already, please flip the sleeper speaker so the bottom side faces up. This will increase the maximum volume. Second thing you can try is to try with a different pillow as the pillow material's density may affect the volume. slip sliding away!
I bought the sleeper speaker as a marriage saver for camping in our RV. I like to sleep (and sleep better) listening to music, but my hubby does not like to hear anything. The speaker works well, my only reason for knocking off a star is because the speaker moves and slides around under the pillow until I can no longer hear it. I have gerry rigged a way to keep it in place, but there could be a better way.

I love these
I love these, I’ve had many pairs. The quality isn’t super great, especially if you use them for sleeping, but the sound quality is crazy good at this price point. I’m an audiophile and I’ve got very expensive headphones and while these are nowhere close to that, for $20 they’re the best $20 headphones you’ll find. I hope they keep making them. Please bring the other colors back!

Performance issues
I received my buds quickly but I have been having some problems with the performance. Hissing and,Static for the first 10 minutes. The left bud fits and stays in sound is ok the right bud does not sit right and falls out and does not seem to be as strong a sound as the left. I've been using ear buds for sleeping for 2 years as I have terrible insomnia. I was glad the buds were small and appeared more comfortable than my last set.
