Online workshops have become boon during pandemic where at the comfort of your home you get to learn various courses. Skillxn is one of such groups that conduct workshops to promote folk arts of India. I got a chance to attend one of their workshops on Madhubani Paintings with Avdhesh Sir. It was a wonderful experience learning Mithila art in a pure traditional form where each motif n design has some relevance and a story to tell that gives this art a unique identity. I must add that team Skillxn is equally special... The members of this team are very polite, patient n good listeners. They are very supportive throughout the course...a special mention to Mr Vimlesh who is very helpful and went out of the way to help me. I would like to attend more workshops with Skillxn. I extend my best wishes to the team!!

This workshop by SkillXn was recommended to me by my sister in law. At first thought I should join level 2 thinking I know Madhubani. I am so glad I went for the basic one. My knowledge about this Indian art form was like a mirage ! Under the guidance of Mr. Abdeshkumar Karn I actually learned the true art and history behind it . The team of SkillXn are doing a great job by giving us an opportunity to learn from such brilliant artists.

I had attended mithila art workshop through Skillxn. Amazing experience. Skillxn tie up with professional traditional artist. They are a beautiful bond between traditional artist (who are in the verge of extinction) and learners like us. Excellent way of selecting and managing the course.

It was with trepidation I ventured in to this madhubani art class by Mr.Abdheshji ( and award winning artist) as I was an utter beginner but a traditional art enthusiast.
My doubts were soon laid to rest as team skillxn and Abdheshji very professionally and patiently guided all the participants in gaining confidence and venturing in to this beautiful art.
What set this course apart from others was the hand holding extended by the entire team and the way Abdheshji narrated the interesting history and traditions behind madhubani art.

Skillxn is a great platform to learn our country’s rich folk art. The team at Skillxn conducts meticulous research and brings highly talented master artists to the fore - connecting art enthusiasts directly to practising master artists for several weeks through their lesson plan format. The effort in sharing a rich tapestry of different designs, artworks and elements within an art form along with guided sessions across multiple paintings of varying complexity within the same art form is highly commendable. This variety allows the participant to blend their preferences of various elements, receive timely and supportive guidance throughout the learning process, and enables them to create their own compositions in the future. They take it one step further by also creating dialogues on the various creative applications of the art form being taught - where the master artisan showcases the various applications generously with participants. A special mention about Aishwarya at Skillxn - a warm-hearted and wonderful professional who empathetically understands the art preferences of participants, is highly responsive to queries and always full of positive energy and smiles. I have always been passionate about art, especially Indian folk art, but it is very difficult to find authentic resources on them. It was purely by chance that I happened upon an advertisement by SkillXN in an Indian folk art group in Facebook.

While all of us are bound indoors in a pandemic situation, we have to find ways of engaging ourselves and keep the mind occupied in a positive way, and therefore I feel very lucky that I did find them.

SkillXN have discovered authentic artists from folk art forms such as Madhubani, Chitrakathi etc and given them a platform. I initially came across the Madhubani Basic class. I was initially apprehensive about being in a different time zone and wondering how it would work out. I reached out to the team to make some enquiries. The SkillXN team was super responsive and put me at ease by answering all my queries, they reassured me about the quality I could look forward to, and I must say they have more than delivered on all their promises. It would surely not be possible for the team to so effective if they were not themselves truly passionate about art. If not for their efforts, I would never have got this golden opportunity to learn from an artist of the calibre of Shri Abdheshji.

There are lot of classes available on the internet that primarily play a pre-recorded video and are very limited in their coverage. SkillXN have the unique concept of an interactive live session, wit knowledgeable and expert teachers, who themselves are artists of some renown. The teacher is very patient in answering all queries, and not only gives knowledge on the drawing of various motifs, but also explains the concepts behind them. They set up a bespoke group on Whatsapp to enable students to exchange ideas among themselves and also with the teacher. A Recording of the session is provided in order to go through them once more at leisure in order to strengthen the concepts, this recording is also useful in case of any unexpected network problems that cause a disruption in the receiving the live class. Being enable to learn in this manner, inculcates respect for the art form and the artist in the minds of the students.
Through the platform of SkillXN, I also got the opportunity to attend workshops on Chitrakathi and Phad where the artists explained the elements of their art. I really appreciate the efforts of SkillXN in unearthing these artists, supporting them and giving us the opportunity to learn from them.
I will wholeheartedly recommend availing of these offerings from SkillXN in learning forms of Indian art that you may be interested in.

I have done 3 art classes through Skillxn . I was concerned about remote learning but all the teachers made it quite easy by allowing us to frequently ask questions and answering them patiently in detail. I like the interactive part of the class. The coordinator is also very flexible and accommodating.

I did Madhubani Art class under Avdeshji. He is very knowledgeable and easy to interact with. In addition to the drawing and art techniques he also shared the history of the Madhubani art which I enjoyed very much. He goes above and beyond the expectation of the class.

I highly recommend Skillxn for any class.

I was looking for a digital platform to learn Indian Folk Arts and that is when my first interaction with Skillxn happened. They are a team of art enthusiasts trying to keep our art forms alive, helping artists and art enthusiasts simultaneously. I would like to thank the Skillxn team for making it possible to learn different style of Indian folk art sitting at home comfortably.The mentors chosen for the purpose were perfect which helped in gaining all possible knowledge regarding the subjects.The pricing for the workshops offered were pretty reasonable so could attend more than one.Looking forward to attend more workshops through Skillxn in future.
