Excellent service and really nice, well kept facility

the insurance element is a rip off that dosen't protect the kind of stuff people genrally store .. Shurgard had a flood which ruined much of what I had stored but turned out that they didnt cover anything I had in there really. Told (aftr teh fact) hat I should have taken out additional insurance?Whielthey makea condition of s torage that you pay for thiers. They dont cover antique books or matresses etc ie that are not new ,, my electiclal equipment that was vinatge turntables RS9 etc ..Even made the claim almost impossible to complete with digital signatures and written lists of original inavoices reciept etc ( on 25 year old gear ) while insisting that you cannot store with them if you dont pay the additional charges for Insureance that is clearly mis sold to all thier unwitting customesrs. stuff I lost was stored because it was important to me but lost over 3.5k ..cant vaue the years of antique books ruinined and apperanetly uininsured.. though the flood was thier own fault..Woudl have taken out. myown insurance instead that i knw would cover what I had put in storage.. Disgrace ....

Storage unit is the size of a microwave the last time I used shurgard was your depot in Greenwich 3yrs ago I rented a 15sq foot unit for about the same price as iam renting this new unit which is 10sq foot but than the unit was like a small room I managed to empty alot of my things from home move into it this new unit take one car boot of item than it's full now moving forward iam going to stay 2 months than I will find another company

The people at the counter need to be more transparent and they did answer everything well just a more politeness could make the experience more welcoming and accommodating. The storage spaces are well systematized just that the aluminum shutters to all lockers seem less safe as if anyone can break in. the door access and after work hour access is very smooth and helpful.

Shurguard has a well-organised, safe and clean storage facility in Kentish Town offering a range of different sized units. There are parking places in front of the building and trolleys to help transfer your stuff. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can buy packaging material from them if needed.

The staff at Kentish Town are very nice but the contract is terrible, you need to give 15 days notice and if that period tips into Shurgards next invoice date you have to pay the entire next months rent, no pro rata refund. terrible.
An opportunistic and mean clause set to catch many out and considering many people use storage when in vulnerable situations such as business closure or loosing a home this reflects extremely badly on Shurgard as a company. I would therefore not recommend. Also the app is terrible.

All of a sudden increase their prices while being abroad leaving me no possible alternative but to accept and wait till I return and hand back their unit.

I had initially left a negative review but the staff at Shugard dealt with my complaint in a very professional and friendly manner and cleared up the misunderstanding.
I was impressed with the way they resolved the matter.

Negatives

1. The Shurgard computer system is extremely flaky. The details don't matter; enough to say that, in the process of setting up my contract I couldn't verify my identity online; I then got constant emails reminding me to do so despite having been in contact with staff at the facility in order to make alternative arrangements; I then got an email telling me that I had missed an appointment, when I had previously received an email confirming my appointment for the following day.

2. Prices look cheap - certainly for the first month. Be aware, however, that they escalate very fast once the first month is over.

The Positives

So, why four stars, rather than three (or even 2)? THE STAFF - at Kentish Town at least. Absolutely first rate; could not have been more pleasant or helpful; and understood all the problems I had been encountering through the company's automated systems.

The service I was given was great. Staff were friendly and were able to solve any issue that came up very easily. It was a seamless process

We have had excellent service over the past 4 years. We have upsized and downsized over this time and each time the experience was seamless.

I was sorting out a lot of stuff, moving units and generally being a time consuming customer. Nancy talked me through the process, helped me sort out getting everything authorised with my company directors and was just really helpful and patient. Huge thanks to her and arinze for everything they’ve done today, they’ve been amazing!
