The device worked well at first boosting the hot water in our downstairs kitchen sink, then just outside the warranty the pump case cracked. SPB refused to help as it was bought thru PlumbHQ who only look after their clients for 30 days. Appalling after sales service and the only recourse is to buy another one. What a pitiful support and pathetic warranty.
Following this review Alan Wright the inventor of the device has stepped in and resolved the matter to my satisfaction. In short buy from the manufacturer, and avoid the hassle I have had. Thanks Alan.

After years of poor shower pressure finally being able to use.

Absolutely useless didn't work in any way shape or form .... Lost half a days work and money putting it and out. Sitting in my lockup still attached to pipe work ....do not buy one

Excellent product, noisier than expected.

The unit itself was well packaged and presented. However, I connected it to the cold inlet direct to the shower mixer. It does improve flow when it kicks in, but not to my expectations.

Advice on suitability received prior to purchase was excellent and prompted my decision to buy.
Delivery was prompt.
Fitting instructions were very good.
Works a treat.

We live in a small 2 bedroom bungalow, it has solved the problem of low pressure from our shower, without the expenditure of changing to a combi boiler system. Well made with a good booklet covering all likely installations. Very pleased with this product.

The kit I bought was for hot and cold as I was replacing the 2nd pump in 7 years that had failed due (I am told) to cavitation. This set up is very compact and half the price although not quite as powerful as the 1.5 bar pump they replace. Easy to fit and is working well

In my 2nd floor flat with combi boiler I swapped my electric shower for a thermostatic one with cold feed with only just adequate pressure and hot feet from the boiler. Had the SP22S installed (one pump on each feed right before shower valve). Very quiet, quick to kick in and has boosted the output of the 300mm rain shower head very well. Quick to ship. Great service.

REASON FOR PURCHASE

After watching a video on Youtube, my wife suggested we get the Shower Power Booster pumps for our newly renovated bathroom, as the dribble that came out of our shower head was virtually unusable.

EASE OF FITMENT

So six weeks ago I bought, and then fitted a pair of Shower Power Booster pumps, one each for the hot and cold pipes. The box with the kit arrived after only a day, and on reading the instructions in the booklet that came with it, I was able to fit and wire up both pumps within an hour or so.

CONVENIENCE OF SIZE

The pumps are small enough that I've fitted them alongside our bath, but behind the bath panel, and although we can hear them when we're in the bathroom, when we're outside of it they're almost silent.

FITMENT CONSIDERATIONS

The only thing I would say about them is that they need to be fitted with the actual pump mounted directly below the main through pipe, or you won't get them to turn on correctly. So make sure to mount them with the pump vertically below the main pipe, that way the water always covers the sensor that measures the water flow, and turns on the pump.

I made sure to fit both pumps correctly and now the shower works as a shower should. It's not so powerful that it would hose the hairs off your head, but it's powerful enough to give a good showering experience.

ECONOMY OF USE

I was amazed that these things can run on such low voltage and amperage, but at only 12 watts each when running, they're cheaper than a single 40 watt light bulb to run. So the running cost is negligable.

EXTENDED WARRANTY OPTION

I purchased the extended warranty when I bought the pumps, so I know I have peace of mind for a long while yet.

COMPARISON WITH FULL SIZE BOOSTER PUMP

Before I bought these pumps I asked a local plumbing business to quote me for fitting a booster pump. They told me it would take up a large amount of room in our airing cupboard, and the total price for supply and fitment was almost £1,400.

In comparison, the Shower Power Booster pumps cost me £228, but that included an extra extension power lead (£6), and the extended warranty (£12). Furthermore, I was able to fit them myself, at my convenience, and I still have all the space in my airing cupboard.

CONCLUSION

So in conclusion, yes I have had a very good experience with the Shower Power Booster pumps, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others who find that their shower isn't working as it should.
