Feels Like It's Still in the Kickstarter Phase

Worksuite is great for a company's accounting department, but from an editorial manager's standpoint, the platform is a clunky mess. It's very difficult to monitor invoice delivery and processing, see invoice history and bulk monthly tallies, and update contact information. Couple that with some payment delays, and I wish my company didn't implement this platform.

The best freelancer management system

The best freelancer management tool out there. As someone who typically manages a number of writers, video editors and freelance designers, plus a variety of marketing vendors, Worksuite makes it super easy to search for the right talent, assign work, and generate invoices tied to tasks. I especially like the directory filters where you can find freelancers based on location, rates, availability etc. And the ability to bulk message and auto-onboard, which saves me from manual emailing back and forth to collect the right bank details. Their team is also lovely people to work with! Would highly recommend.

The Shortlist team has gone above and…

The Shortlist team has gone above and beyond many times. Most recently I had a few urgent questions that I needed answered and Soobin Kang personally called me outside of typical business hours and made sure I got everything I needed figured out. He continues to check in and make sure that my experience is nothing but the best. The product is amazing, but the customer service is even better. I can't say enough great things about the Shortlist team.

They went above and beyond to help me

Right I want to start off by saying I have received the best service I have ever had in regards to customer service and professionalism.

I won’t lie, I originally put a low review because of a misunderstanding in which I had got my timings wrong and blamed shortlist.

A few moments later I had my on boarding call with Soobin.

What a guy, he helped me massively even though we decided shortlist wasn’t correct for my needs he recommended what I should do and I never once felt like he wanted to just put the phone down.

It was obvious to both of us Shortlist wasn’t for my needs but he still wanted to help me.

I managed to get some great information from him which has already helped me, so Soobin if you see this thanks again.

I would highly recommend the onboarding call to anyone interested.

Some kinks, but got there in the end

Great idea and the interface is super smooth, the execution was just a little stop-start. I had an ongoing issue with a payment coming through, possibly because I'm based outside of the US. After months of back and forth this was resolved. Not ideal, but no harm done. I have no doubt the system will continue to be improved and its kinks ironed out.

So very pleased...

I would say my experience with Shortlist has been nothing short of wonderful. It really streamlines the process for everyone involved; from the billing department to the consultants and analysts that use it. It is really beautiful simplicity.
My POC is always responsive and open to new ideas or suggestions we have. It's impossible to tailor something to fit the exact needs of everyone but I feel as though they put in the effort to get as close as possible.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Shortlist to anyone looking for a new platform or really just a breath of fresh air.

STAY AWAY FROM SHORTLIST!!!!

The whole platform should be trashed. I don't think it can even be salvaged or upgraded enough to be usable. Simply put, it is very cumbersome to use. It is not user friendly, and the coders really didn't think through the design/functionality of the platform, but rather focused more on the "look" of the platform. It could have been something really great- if they had put more time in ensuring it was user friendly. My process of paying independent contractors has increased about 50% in processing time (this means maintaining paperwork, getting invoices, making payments, etc.) - so I LOSE a lot of time due to the sheer absurdity they call a platform. Oh, they will "offer" to take care of these payments for you. But it comes at a cost. $4/per transaction. So if you're going through 500 contractors in a month, you're forking over $2,000 a month JUST for them to pay your independent contractors for you. What a rip off. My suggestion is don't do what my company did and rush into getting this platform because "it's cheaper than the others." Make sure you get a platform that does a good job and isn't so cumbersome, you literally want to jump out of your 5th floor office window. Since the time it takes for me to manage the financial aspect of this platform increased to 50% more of my time, this means I don't have enough time to take care of my other duties because of this platform. The customer support SUCKS. Simply put, they just don't care. They will give you feeble suggestions that you already know will not work because you've already tried it. Your efficiency with this platform WILL DECREASE. This platform will COST YOU MORE MONEY than you bargained for. Remember, time is money. Stay away from ShortList!

Easy and enjoyable process so far...

Endemol Shine Australia have been working with the Shortlist team for close to 12 months, developing and setting up a brand new system for our company. Dylan, Alex, Diana and the whole Shortlist team have been nothing but helpful, supportive and innovative partners throughout the process so far, and we are very excited to ‘go live’ in the coming weeks. Dealing with the whole team has been easy and enjoyable, and we’re all looking forward to continuing the good work into the future.

I like Shortlist, but...

I like Shortlist, but there are a lot of problems. No sooner do w get one thing fixed and then something else comes up. I'd be a lot happier if I knew from one day to the next that Shortlist wasn't going to go down or some feature wasn't going to be screwed up.

Great customer service, but needs some major adds

The team is extremely responsive to functionality add-on requests, which is incredible and very promising. So far, the program works well for our basic needs, but reporting is really lacking. However, if you're looking for a basic organization tool for freelance teams, this is a good option.

I've been working with Shortlist for nearly 2 years and it's really helped us manage our vendor pool. As we've grown and our needs have changed, the folks at Shortlist have been responsive and helpful. I'd highly recommend them.

Good platform, but needs easier customization and more dynamic completion

My experience with shortlist thus far has been decent. It's a good system overall, but support can sometimes be slow and the platform frequently buggy. Overall it works for my needs, but there are a lot of extra steps needed to complete many tasks. I have no doubt that it will continue to expand and improve to fit my needs, but as of right now I'm a bit underwhelmed based upon the product I was initially promised.

PROS:
- System is based off a monthly flat fee, not a contractor fee.
- Layout and profile page is very clean and allows contractors to input lots of custom data
- Implementation process is guided by a shortlist employee over multiple calls and web-sessions
- Salespeople will take a lot of time to make sure they understand your needs
- Custom onboarding processes allow customization of the documents you need from contractors (but custom forms/docs can't be edited without shortlist support).

CONS:
- Support can be slow to respond and ultimately unhelpful ("sorry, I couldn't figure out a way to do that") on fairly basic features. Additionally, more than a month in I'm still working to get customization on e-mails that I was promised in the initial sales calls, and still trying to fix a bug that doesn't allow contractors to submit proposals for assignments (one of the big selling points of the platform).
- Contractor profiles can get stuck in the onboarding process with no way to clear them. Only solution is to delete account and send them another invite.
- No easy way to pull dynamic data from contractor profile to forms, i.e. addresses, names, dates that a master contract/w9 was signed, etc.
- Just overall some odd UX choices, that ultimately lead to confusion from contractors. Hard to pinpoint exactly what they are.
- A lot of the (simple) customizations require you to contact the shortlist team, as there is no way to change them yourself.

As a whole, it works. I work with hundreds of contractors on events all over the country, and my needs are very specific, so I understand that I'm going to be a hard customer to please. However, from my initial calls with the salesperson, Shortlist was billed as a perfect solution for my needs, and every one of those had a solution within the platform. In reality, many of those solutions are far from elegant, and require a lot of copying and pasting from other sources to complete a process that should be much more automated.

I would be much understanding about the limitations of the system if the support team was more timely and helpful. Ultimately, I've been waiting almost a month for my company logo to be processed into the e-mails that are being sent to contractors, instead of the shortlist logo. Things like this are ultimately the big issue I have with this system, as most of the customizations require you to contact your support contact, which then leaves you sitting on your hands until they have the time to implement the changes.

I do hope that the product continues to improve, but right now it seems like it is ultimately short on the engineering power that it really needs to flourish. My advice to the team is to make a lot of the platform more customizable by the customer. Doing so will allow you to offload a lot of that work from your support team and will free them to identify bugs and potential other improvements in the system.
