Cancelled event and refuse repayment even though I went to the Swedish ARN who decided they where in the wrong. Scammers...
What they have done is called a theft !
They have cancelled all the events and did not refund or move registration to next year.
During covid outbreak they change the terms and conditions, thay add that there will be no refund caused by any outbreak.
Of course they did not informed participant about that and did not give chance to make any action ....
Never again !
No money back or new ticket... Never doing this again
unbelievable and possibly illegal change of terms and conditions to deny refunds after Covid outbreak. Unreal - please do never buy anything from this company or participate in any of their races.
Toughest's no refund policy put online after COVID-19 outbreak
Toughest's newly invoked no refund policy was put online after COVID-19 outbreak.
I bought tickets for the event in Denmark that was cancelled last week with no entry fee refund. When asked about the justification of the no refund policy, Toughest refers to their FAQ on the website that states:
§10 The Race Committee reserves the right to cancel the race. If a race is cancelled due to circumstances outside of the organisers control, such as, but not limited to, climate/weather, diseases, outbreaks etc, there will be no refund of tickets or other costs such as travel, hotel, gear etc.
However, Toughest has changed the above policy in April 2020, i.e. AFTER the COVID-19 outbreak. The valid FAQ at the time I purchased the tickets was:
§10 The Race Committee reserves the right to cancel the race. If this occurs, the entry fee is payed back, but no compensation for travel or hotel etc is
repayed.
Evidence can be found at web.archive.org where you can find historical versions of websites.
According to Danish consumer law, you cannot change terms and conditions after the purchase is made and Toughest is well aware of that, but still refuses to repay entry fees.
When confronted with this evidence, Toughest just remain silence.
May this be a warning to all potential customers of Toughest.
I booked a ticket for a race in Copenhagen. Because of corona they changed my ticket to malmoe in Sweden instead, not bearing in mind that Danes can’t go to Sweden without having to go to 14 days of quarantine and no travel insurance will cover. But toughest just wrote the following: The Race Committee reserves the right to cancel the race.
If a race is canceled due to circumstances outside of the organizers control, such as, but not limited to, climate / weather, diseases, outbreaks etc, there will be no refund of tickets or other costs such as travel, hotel, gear etc.
Which means that we do not have the opportunity or obligation to repay the entry fee.
Very greedy company, and not paying any refund, not even if you can’t go to their race.
My girlfriend bought a ticket for the race in Copenhagen, and i was really looking forward to it. However, due to Corona, they swapped location from Denmark to sweden with No refund policy. I cannot travel to sweden because my job will not allow me due to quarantine rules after travelling to other countries.
I Will not recommend buying tickets for the toughest race, as they can change location as they like without giving their customers a chance to have their Money back. Also, the ticket bought was for a race in Copenhagen, not sweden. In case I was able to go to sweden, i had to pay an extra aprox. 800 dkk/ 107 eur for crossing the bridge, not to mention the extra gasoline in addition. This is not fair, even in these Corona times.
Disappointed so far.
I enjoyed their race, despite being poorly organised and with several obstacles not working, but trying to buy from their shop is just terrible.
I made an order in the middle of December, and when I contacted them to find out where it was, they were closed for two weeks -__-
When they finally came back from holiday (Come on, you're running a business...), I was told that the parcel was just sitting in a warehouse without anyone trying to deliver it, and best of all, they didn't seem to care and told me to travel from London to Birmingham to pick it up myself.
I would very obviously recommend not to bbuy anything from them again.
Edit:
I did finally get the hoodie, but it took me to chase them, and they had to resend it as their courier never bothered to try to deliver it the first time. The second time the sent it via "normal" ail, and it arrived.
