Sherlock Bike Omdömen 

This product and company have had their day, if they really ever had one. The product just doesn't work, CS is useless. I have a brand new sherlock tracker that doesn't work, where sherlock support have just referred me back to the suppliers, stay well clear of this product.

This product is not fit for purpose as the app doesn't work with the latest version of android. Do not buy.

This looked great on paper, a hidden out of the way gps tracker. Reality is much different. The device or software never worked and their customer service blew me off for not having "proof of purchase". Since I purchased this online I am guess that is the packing slip. Who knew I would need that. I got the item from the vendor, so packing slip went in the recycling. So I have a useless and expensive item to recycle. Avoid, I wish I had.

Sadly I’ve had 3 of these units in the last 4 months and all 3 have failed.
My conclusion from this is; buy bike insurance instead as it’s cheaper less hassle and if you bike is stolen you get a brand new bike back guaranteed.
It’s even cheaper to insure your bike via your house insurance for it’s full value as a named item.
1st Sherlock unit: the bike was robbed and the battery life failed so we couldn’t track it a d as such we lost the bike. Needless to say we haven’t got the bike back and there is no claim for a new Sherlock unit either. Luckily I claimed off my house insurance for the bike but only got 70% of the claim as it wasn’t a named item. I couldn’t claim for the Sherlock unit as it’s classed as part of the bike. So a lesson learnt and I thought next time I’ll keep it in 2 min theft mode to stand a chance of tracking it.( battery life is poor and no where near what is reported).
2nd unit: kept failing to track in theft mode, I glued this unit in the handlebars and to be fair I destroyed it getting it out but the seller with the help of Sherlock support replaced the unit as faulty and Sherlock support have been helpful in broken English as there Italian to be fair but they do reply to your requests.
3rd: unit again isn’t to be trusted some times it works in theft mode and some times it goes to theft mode but will not update and now it’s consistently not updating in theft mode so again faulty, now and it’s not a gps signal issue as I’ve had it out of the bike to test.
Sherlock stated return it to the seller as faulty for a replacement.
This device has so much potential if such was built with a more reliable hardware and better more comprehensive software.
I’ve gone with upgraded Insurance as I know what ever happens I get a replacement bike guaranteed with Sherlock you have probably zero chance of getting your bike back safely. Ive left the Sherlock in the bike as a decoy as that’s about it’s usefulness as I can afford the money.
I’m tech savvy and I’ve installed my own SIM card satnav unit in the frame just out of the fact that I like to problem solve and try to improve a system and as such I bought a cheap £12 tracker off eBay which can be contacted directly with a SIM card installed (£4 a month) and it tracks in real time all the time and I can get history of my ride to. The Sherlock had so much potential not just as a bike anti theft unit but as a ride tracker, altitude, miles and time measurement etc but it’s badly let down by the hardware and it’s software configuration, you can not contact the Sherlock via your phone at a distance via it’s embedded SIM card it’s weak in many areas and needs a company who can take it further and develop it to the next level in my opinion.
£220 wasted for me.

Save your money and buy a whistle or try FI dog gps tracker. Whistle has customer service instead of Sherlock’s email they are impossible to reach and out of the country. This Sherlock was absolute garbage. The dog tracker had so much more accuracy and detail!!! The police were able to follow the app easily. Still waiting for word on when they will arrest them all.
I’ll update this in detail when the detective is done.
Anyway
Sherlock can not handle any spills you bike and your bike may encounter. No matter what it inevitably gets stuck in the handle bars. You pay for a plan that you can’t even use once it breaks, and they are FRAGILE! Whistle is the most indestructible.
Save your money and get a Whistle dog tracker.
Thieves know where to look, you aren’t fooling anybody.
The Sherlock accuracy is lousy. You pay a premium but when the device inevitably fails you can’t get your money back on the plan and their warranty is a ton of verbiage stating they won’t cover or warranty anything at all!

I bought a Sherlock in 2017. It didn't work at the time, app crashed, didn't update the position, etc. Just seemed like a non functional device. I got around to emailing the company in 2020 and they are not friendly. They told me it is now defunct and unusable. I would not recommend buying their product.
