Worked with a representative to prepare my file for printing, and she helped me select a material suitable for my purposes. She was very kind, thorough, and expedient. Will definitely use this service again!

This was my first time using Shapeways and I am very pleased with the bike computer/light mount that I ordered from them. There was an issue with my shipment; UPS believed the part got damaged in shipping so they returned it to Shapeways. I worked with James in their customer service department and he very quickly resolved the issue and got the part out to me. The part arrived today and the quality seems to be very good. I already have the part installed on my bike and will start putting it to the test tonight. Thank you again James for great customer service!

Shapeways came through in a big way. I had recently moved and forgot to update my address. My order shipped to the old address and was returned to Shapeways. I contacted them and they were happy to help. They let me know they had received my order back and would send it to me overnight for no additional charge. Now that is service!! Thanks to the whole Shapeways team.

Wanted to let you know that the package arrived yesterday just fine.
The packing was surpureb and the contents were not damaged in the lest. I was very excited and pleased with the ammout of creativity and craftsmanship that went into the Blimps tiny air wing. I will send you many pictures of the finished project and some other suggestion for other parts I would like to have done in the future for some other 3-D drawings I am thinking about.
Oh well, CHEERS! MATE!

If you've ever wondered what outstanding customer service looks like, it's people like this.
My 3-D printed part was small, no bigger than a book of matches. You'd have thought it insignificant to see, but Shapeways treated it just like the most important part imaginable. I suspect they do this for everybody. The part fit perfectly, and was beautifully made.
James in customer service replied immediately to my questions, and kept me informed of the shipping status from start to finish.
Great outfit. Highly recommended.

I’m absolutely and I mean absolutely impressed with the quality of service that I have received from Shapeways. There customer service is nothing short of perfection. I had a Service carrier drop the ball causing damage and loss of product during shipping. It was completely out of Shapeways responsibilities to replace my items. They were under no obligation to replace my lost and damaged items. So rather than take the route of most companies and turn a blind eye. My experience was the complete opposite..They not only stepped up and started a reprint before they even told me about it. they are also airmailing the new reprinted parts next day after it is done. James in customer service has been a complete Gentleman. My wife is in the hospital with this covid 19 and I haven’t seen her in weeks and so I took my frustration out on James
(I WAS AWFUL!!) He didn’t waver one bit! He staid professional to the very end. If you have any doubts about 3d printing as I did! DONT! If you want the best of both product and customer service and you are reading this! You are in the right place. There is a reason they are #1. I was lucky enough to witness Why. And because so they have a customer for life. I’m a small scale rc drag car manufacturer And will be having all parts for my product done exclusively with Shapeways. Last I just wanted to give a special thanks to James in customer Service. All I can say is If you are lucky enough to get him, he will treat you like a king.

James from Customer service was of excellent help. I can't remember the last time I was treated so quickly and efficiently. They grasped the situation immediately and were more than willing to compromise and come to a GREAT solution. Just the quality of service makes me want to use this company more and more. If you are having second thoughts about purchasing through Shapeways - THROW that out the window. Highly recommended.

After 3 years of ordering parts from shapeways for my business, they sent one of my orders with defect parts.
Another 10 frustrating days of emailing customer service without shapeways taking responsibility about this case, left me with very unhappy clients of mine that I needed to compensate. including one poor guy, who ordered a wedding ring and needed to rush and find a replacement just before his wedding.
I am now checking for a substitute provider.

The customer service at Shapeways is top notch. They are very tentative with their customers and appear to actually care about helping get problems resolved in a timely fashion. James, the senior customer service agent that dealt with was extremely helpful. I understand unfortunate things happen sometimes so its nice to know Shapeways has your back when something goes wrong.

When I first started to use Shapeways I loved their service and product, but now they have become a customer service nightmare. Their shipping is really awful, I ordered something that I thought was printed I Brooklyn, and had it shipped to Manhattan, it cost me a lot to have it produced and it ended up being shipped via UPS from NYC to New Jersey then onto USPS and I still haven't received it. I can't actually access the USPS post office unit where I'm staying so it was a complete waste of money paying for expedited order and delivery. Their customer service team just kept telling me it wasn't their fault and there's nothing they can do to help, they wouldn't even offer a store credit. I ordered some mask guards that I had 3-d printed during the coronavirus outbreak and really felt that they were playing me hard and taking advantage of the situation. I won't go back to Shapeways because of that.

I'm very satsified with Shapeways. I ordered already a lot of parts. They have always been in perfect quality. Parts out of metal take a while but the plastic stuff is very fast.
The homepage is great, the status page of your order especially. Always refreshing the site hoping to see some progress. :)
The support is friendly, fast and efficient.

This is the future
Shapeways delivered this 3D-printed part to me, in the UK, just ten days after I ordered it. And, since the new part was "printed" in metal, it is far superior to the hard plastic from which the (failed) original part was made.
This is the way to go for spare parts: forget those stockpiles (and non-availability) of spares. After the warranty period, manufacturers should be required to make CAD files available so that replacement parts can (continue to) be made (printed) on demand.

I can tell from experience that it's difficult to sustain an actual business if you base it off of shapeways. Prices seem highly volatile and are increased on rather short notice. Just today they announced via email they will increase the prices yet again which means an increase of costs to our products of 27%. These changes will take effect within 7 days which is just a ridiculously short amount of time to adapt your business to such a price change :D And it's by far not the first price increase.

It's a cool platform to play around with and do some quality prototyping. For actual manufacturing at scale (anything bigger than 5 items per week really), I would contact a local provider and get touch with them directly. We have tested that in the past and will do that now as we easily fullfil their minimum order quantity.
