Great products and support!
I bought my PID, top box and dimmer mods for my Gaggia Classic from SoC. Support has been top class and was able to resolve a couple of issues over the chat.
They are friendly, supportive and I highly recommend them.

Terrible service
Terrible service. The equipment is first rate. Transaction and delivery both ran smoothly. Instructions are all pdf. The instructions are often counterintuitive and therefore confusing. When I reached out to SoC I was given no support. Now when my PID appears to have stopped working SoC support reverts to uninvited personal opinions in regard to my character. PLEASE AVOID.
Quick update equipment has now (just over a day since fault first registered) completely failed.
Given previous interactions with SoC I'm calling this one a bust and will put this whole experience down to "experience" rather than endure SoC "service".
My experience in short, equipment looks ok (I'm not an engineer of any kind) but appears a short lifespan and customer service seem confused (as SoC highlighted, each contact before December 2024, was along the lines of no we don't do this or provide that you've now been helped and supported).
I wish all staff working with SoC a happy life and peace moving forward.
PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME SoC.

Thanks for your interesting review Geoff. Having reviewed your chat interactions with our support team, I can see that far from you being "given no support" your requests for support were all professionally and effectively handled at our end, and we've fully resolved the issues that you've had.
However, I can see one or two interactions where you don't appear to be particularly polite, and our support rep suggested today that "perhaps being a little nicer" to our staff in your communication may be a better way to start when asking for our assistance and they felt that they had to escalate your contact to management. Even though we then quickly resolved your issue via email, I'm guessing that this 1* review quoting "terrible service", "given no support", "please avoid" is your response? I personally reached out to you via email after you placed it and I'd looked at our chat logs, suggesting that much of it simply wasn't true - but I guess it's your true opinion.
Additionally - no, we also don't provide printed copies of our detailed (and usually very well reviewed by most customers) install and use guides, and yes we do expect customers to be able to open and use PDFs. Similarly, as our kits all address separate areas of modification we also provide separate and distinct guides for each mod - and we don't provide a single consolidated document of instructions that tell you how to install everything you've purchased.

Great customer support!
Had some issues with my machine, started an online chat and got perhaps the best customer support I have ever got (not an exaggeration).
They helped me troubleshoot a problem over 2 days and analysed the videos of the problem I had. In the end I was able to understand what was going on - power connection was incorrectly set when I installed the PID - and they found another issue I wasn't aware of (brew and steam lights had fallen off and were switched).

I'm always sceptical about after market products but this servicable steam valve for the gaggia classic pro and single hole tip did exactly what's described great job SOC.

It's not our fault, it's a combination of Brexit and EU tax laws - combined with Bpost charging more than any other postal company in Europe to clear mail through customs. I can appreciate you wanting to give Bpost 2* for this, but surely we still deserve a bit more? :-)
