Sent in my book only to have it rejected. Had minimal highlighting and writing that would have been acceptable to their guidelines.

The process was very easy and quick. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking to find a new home for their used books and earn some money in the process!

A small consignment of high quality classical music CDs all from the same major label and most in “as new” condition were rejected with no explanation or attempt to justify the unilateral decision to destroy them with no comeback. The whole thing was very fishy. I am waiting to see the “responsibly recycled” CDs appear for sale on their site.

SCAM SCAM SCAM! I used this service a few times throughout my time in college and just tried it again and had an evaluation of $175 for my order with a majority of the value being in 2 of the books. They conveniently rejected one of the 2 even though I HAVE PICTURES OF THE BOOKS SEALED IN PACKAGING before I put them into a box. Customer service won’t help you and it’s laughable to call it service. They won’t do anything to resolve your issues. I’m moving on from site and never dealing with them again. This is your sign to do the same and never look back. Don’t trust these people!

Had dozens of transactions with this company with no issues whatsoever. Now I’ve been accused of not sending in a book worth $.25, which is an attack on my personal integrity. The company was great for years but has grown through mergers and acquisitions and appears to now be resorting to unfair and deceptive business practices. They can claim anything you sent in was not received and you have no recourse. It’s sad to lose a loyal customer over a quarter, but that’s what this company has chosen to do.

Books with higher values are "rejected" without any evidence that the copies do not meet standards. The pattern includes brand new, unused copies. They protect themselves by immediately "recycling" the copies and refusing payment.

Untrustworthy, slow. Sometimes up to 7 days to begin processing, then 7 to 8 days to process, then another couple of days to receive payment. Out of 4 recorded deliveries, they claimed to have not received 1 box from each delivery. Their terms and conditions allow no compensation for this, even though the tracking shows as delivered. In reality whatever you get quoted for a trade, you’ll lose a minimum of 25% to 40% value. Split your more expensive books with cheaper ones to alleviate this as they’ll claim to not receive the most expensive items. Customer service is automated/ AI, so you don’t actually get to speak to anybody. Personally, I’d use a different provider. Also, be sure to pack and know how many boxes you have before you complete the trade or the courier will make up an amount (contrary to the instructions) and again, they’ll claim to to have received the full trade and reduce your payout.

I posted a book to them as per their acceptance policy. When they received it, they said that it did not qualify, so they are going to recycle it. I told them that maybe they could just return it, but no, they said there is no option to do so. What a nightmare!

BEWARE! This SCAM company operates on Amazon as Glenthebookseller! DO NOT attempt to sell (more like give) them your books or merchandise. And BY ALL MEANS do not buy from them on Amazon, unless you love being royally ripped off!

For my first experience, I tried entering several books I wanted to sell, all in pristine condition, and most books kept coming up with only $.28, and some wouldn't give me a quote at all. I had one book that cost me $40 and they only wanted to pay me $.28 ??! wow! I was surprised when a couple of my books were actually quoted $23 and $15, but to make sure I thought I would check their reviews. There are over 100 "1" star reviews, all mentioning how they got scammed, never paid, and sending in pristine books only for the company saying the books were rough and then wouldn't pay and wouldn't return their books. I believe when they say they are a scam. No thanks! I'll take my books and other items elsewhere.

I got completely ripped off. Scammed by this company. I sent them 33 items they said only one was in good condition and they would be recycling the rest of my items. I was quoted 408.36 I got $13 for 33 items basically. Ripped off find another company to use if reselling used items. I reached out many times for help. Company keeps sending me their rules on conditions. Then they say sorry we have no pictures of how your items were received. Well, I have pictures of my items before I mailed them. Still no help! Do not use!

Sold some books and DVD's. The original quote was reduced and I had to ask why, no email or other correspondence (who does that). Had to ask and per their website it is at their discretion to accept or reject items. I am not a mind reader, tell me what was rejected and why the quote was reduced.

Don’t trust this people. I ordered a hardcover book, they sent me a paperback. They apologized and promised a full refund. I waited 12 days: no refund. I wrote them asking update. No answers at all.
Luckily Abebooks was the intermediary and they decided to refund me on their behalf.

Looks like a common theme for “SellBackYourBook.com” they quote an honest customer twice as much as what they pay.

My quote was nine dollars and change and I received a check for $4.99. I shipped 5 nursing books in perfect condition. My “APA seventh edition reference guide” even had tabs worth $15 put into the book, absolutely pristine condition books and an email (that no one at the company, even replied to when I disputed the check being sent) states they had to recycle some of my books due to the condition.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! Sellbackyourbook.com should be shut down.

They reset my price from $89 to $0 and then ghosted me.

I sent nine books, the Jewish study Bible was included in the box I mailed, Received 7.46 for the new Bible, that was paid from SBYB just received and email, Stating that the Bible was not included in my box I sent and adjusted my total amount to 4.96. I e mailed back on website to let them know the Bible was included and was in New Condition

Purchased one book, received another. Sell Back Your Book @sellbackyourbook.com> they refused to deliver the actual book. Their reply was:

I sent a book in that I checked against the guidlines. It fit all of the guidelines. However, after they recieved my book, they didn't pay me becuase it apparently didn't meet their standards. Instead of negotiating a price or sending me the book back. They paid me nothing and did not send the book back. This place is a scam. Sell your textbooks on a different website.

I ordered four books from them on eBay. The books had not been shipped after several days so I contacted them and received the following email…

“ Greetings,,

Due to a system error, our inventory was reallocated. We are currently investigating the root cause of this issue. As a result of the delay, I am issuing you a refund.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

So all four books were “reallocated?” Bull crap!!!

Do not deal with these people.

I thoroughly read the “terms and conditions” of this company. All of my books were scanned in, not manually entered. When they received my books, they immediately claimed 1 had an incorrect number, what? It was scanned in! When they responded back to my complaint they then claimed that me book was received in poor condition. Really? When I pay my good money for a book I treat it with the utmost care. There were no rips, tears, cuts and the binding was impeccable. Beware of this company, I’ll never do business with them again!
And the “play nice” section for reviews makes it sound like you can only write good reviews, no bad ones.
