They are selling seeds that don’t germinate. I bought 3 pockets of fox glove from this dubious company and non of them germinated. I bought foxgloves from different sellers like Johnny’s seed and have no issue with it. I do not recommend this store to buy your seeds from. Their customer service are horrible as well.
Slow shipping, and I can prove it.
Paid Monday, February 16; received February 26. According to USPS tracking: "Accepted at USPS Origin Facility, STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT 06076, February 21, 2026, 7:48 pm"
So it took 5 days for Select Seeds to actually get my package to the post office. USPS took another 5 days to deliver "parcel select" to me. Don't be in a hurry to receive your seeds.

We’re sorry to hear that your order didn’t arrive as quickly as expected. To clarify, the USPS tracking reflects when the package was scanned at their origin facility, which can sometimes occur after initial processing and handoff preparations on our end. That said, we understand how the timeline you experienced feels longer than it should, and we’re actively working to improve our processing times to better meet expectations.
Our published shipping timeline for seed orders is 3-5 business days from order receipt. As a small, family-owned business, we take pride in carefully preparing each order, and we’re continually working to improve our turnaround times.

At least 1/3 of their seeds are “currently unavailable” and have been since last year. They put out all these new varieties but then they’ve never been available. I check their website frequently. I think they want it to look like they sell out. But in reality, they never had them.
As always, the plants I ordered arrived safely packed and in excellent condition, but what I wanted to thank you for is the Planting Guide you included. It is the very best one I have ever gotten - such good, thorough, valuable information. I've been planting things for many years, but learned some new things and were reminded of others with your guide.
Just received my Salvia 'Hummingbird Falls" plants and I am thrilled. They were so well packaged that the leaves weren't even slightly wilted and it was so easy to remove from the packaging that I didn't worry about damaging them. They are now watered gently and becoming used to the shelf. I look forward to planting them.
Thank you for not gouging on shipping costs! The plants I ordered arrived quickly and in excellent shape, and the shipping charges were exactly what it actually costs to ship via USPS right now.
I ordered plants from Select Seeds. The plants seem healthy, but they are tiny--what we call a two-inch pot. I paid $8.75 a piece plus a huge shipping fee which brought my total per plant to over $13 each--ouch!! Shame you Select Seed. This is a rip off.

Thank you for your feedback—we’re glad to hear your plants arrived healthy, though we’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with their size.
We do publish our pot size for all of our plants (3.5" h x 2.63" w, 9.5 fl oz) so customers know what to expect. While they may appear small on arrival, they are grown to establish well and typically take off quickly once planted.
All of our plants are grown and shipped from our Connecticut greenhouse, and as a small, family-owned business, we take great care in how each order is handled.

I mean where on Earth do you get so many beautiful flowers for a great price. Then add in their great seed germination, for me 100%. I have been an organic gardener for well over 40+ years and the FLOWERS are my favorite spot after I put out my full garden.
Getting their seeds is like candy to me. This is my third garden. Instead of BUYING plants I wanted the experience of watching the plants grow from seed. It was and IS a great experience watching the entire process. Then, I feed the local birds so this year there are going to be even more flowers for "The Birds".
Love this company. They have a huge selection of both flower and vegetable seeds. What I liked most was that after I placed my order I found a couple of additional items I would like and they graciously added them to my existing order.
