It’s a total elaborately executed scam website. Please don’t trust or buy anything it recommends. In fact, consider reporting to the BBB and FTC so well-meaning consumers don’t continue to get scammed. I bought the Avina X1, which alongside the Artemis, CleoLight, etc., is clearly all from the same company/distributor misrepresenting themselves as a company and an overpriced, cheap Chinese product. I was directed to them through a search engine optimized sponsored result from “schoolofdermatology.com”. It appeared to be a legit medical skin care blog ranking best LED masks, but upon further scrutiny, the website has scant info about who’s running it, the details/appearance on the website are very minimalist, the photos on the website of their physicians are AI generated (ie have weird looking hands/fingers, and the words/names on their white coats are unclear/garbled). Their names are also not real when searched, and most if not all physicians are usually searchable as they should have public medical licenses and national provider ID’s. When you click through each recommended brand, all of the company names are very similar (e.g. Artemis, Avina, Cleo), all of the website websites look very similar to the source website in terms of layout/appearance with minimal company information, and the product eventually was shipped from China, not Korea (based on the YunExpress tracking number I received). The website reviews also are written in the same “voice” and very clearly emphasizing that it was this amazing product from Korea. I thought at first this was legit mostly because of the outstanding “reviews” and product specs, and sometimes these Asian company websites are more minimalist in design.
I did end up buying the Avina X1 mask 1.5 years ago, but I have been unimpressed with the technology for the price ($821). My friend has a Therabody mask and I was super impressed by its functionality, so I decided to revisit the product website for the Avina today and I was shocked at how sus and scammy the website looked. I then went back to the original “blog” that I remembered had referred me, and then took a closer look at all of the other “brands”. Total scams. Please learn from my lesson!!
