Schiit modi-plus short review.

Happy buyer of two Schiit modi-plus, using Ubuntu Studio and Windows 11. Great sound, no ticks or sizing, also on low volumes good results. Immediately recognized by Ubuntu. Using an 3rd party external adapter for power. A good sound experience depends as well on good wiring, amplifier and speakers. 5/5 although there is better hardware available, but not for this price. Thanks Schitt!

Bought Schitt Modi

Bought Schitt Modi, but it stopped working with nearly every MacOS update. Sometimes it was fixed by another update. But it hasn't worked for years now. Customer support basically said that's the way it goes! Won't buy their products again.

I have bought many products from them and their quality control is frankly BAD to non existent

Freya Preamp that broke down with - few months. Aegir Amp that were defective new.. The last problem was 2x Gjallarhorns in silver finish that don’t match!!

They hype-up their products a lot and some American viewers give very positive feedback but their lack of real customer support (they send u long letters with often poor excuses to do nothing about problems they created) and extremely poor quality control makes it not worth buying their products

After all the hype about made in America. Their product quality can’t match Asian or European standards. If u can tolerate the unreliability & shoddy standards of a typical American car vs a decent an Asian / European then you may be happy with Schitt.

For myself the hair pulling frustration of poor quality items and receiving excuses instead of solutions to problems originating from and created by Schiit themselves in why they got a 1 star.

Stick to quality brands with real QC & customer service for a headache free life!! Names have meaning: Schiit is Schiit

$250 IN FEES FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT THEY SENT ME

Paid $684 For an amp that i thought it was good. After receiving it I had to pay $80 customs for duty fees. No problem right? I plug in this product and after day 3 it starts making strange noises not only that but it starts to make a funny buzzing noise through my headphones when plugged in for few hours and would have to turn it off and back on to fix it.I also had to go through sending videos untill they were convinced. So after the support tell me that I have to PAY FOR shipping for a faulty product they sent me to send it back to them.Anyways I think whatever f it Ill do it as the quality of the amp was nowhere near what the price should of offered. I send it back and after 6 days they send me only partial refund feeing me $120 for a faulty product they sold me.

So In total I has to pay $120+$50+80= $250 of fees for a faulty product

do not buy from this company if you value your money

Update: Eventually they refunded me after multiple emails

I ordered a Mani 2 phono preamp and…

I ordered a Mani 2 phono preamp and really hoped to love it. After many connect configurations...it still had massive distortion (new cables, relocate unit, different input/output etc). They apparently have a good reputation, thus the reason I chose them...but this was not my experience, especially with customer service. Schiit has NO PHONE...they only communicate by email. I spoke with a tech whose only advice was to try all the troubleshooting FAQs, which I did. The offer of a "15 day return period" just isn't true. They said I could return the possibly defective unit at my expense and less a 15% restocking fee. Their customer service is pathetic. No assistance offered in getting the thing working. Customer service after the sale is non-existent and return policy is overstated...so know this going in if you're considering a Schiit product.

Unacceptable QC and Customer Service

I purchased an amplifier and received it faulty on arrival. I was requested to send it back. a few days after the return was delivered back they advised me they have fixed the issue and it is on its way back to me. Asked for details and I was told they had replaced a faulty transistor. I told them I had purchased a new item and expected to be sent a replacement or at least the board should have been replaced. They offered a refund but did not refund the $60 postage fee. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THEIR FAULT TO SEND ME A REPAIRED BOARD INSTEAD OF A REPLACEMENT! Very disappointed at their QC and Customer service.

Simple Quality Service

I purchased a Magni 3 amplifier, and it worked fine for a while. About a month in, it failed to produce a signal and none of my headphones worked with it. After contacting their support team, they offered to let me send it back, free of charge, for a full replacement. The unit I received in exchange has worked well ever since. This support was transparent and straightforward, and I will be a returning customer.
