We are incredibly grateful for Kim Shipman at HelloCollege. Our son was accepted to his first-choice college, and her guidance was invaluable throughout the process. What we appreciated most was that she worked directly with him, holding him accountable, helping him manage deadlines, and teaching him important time-management skills. She kept him on track without us having to step in, which made the process much less stressful for our family. We highly recommend her.

I found HelloCollege through Google reviews and they had an excellent rating and I decided to call. What a great experience and decision. It was the best decision and what made all the difference is our counselor Leslie Riccio. Words cannot truly describe how wonderful she was. She was knowledgeable, understood my daughter’s needs and was a great coach. She kept my daughter on track and we met all the deadlines. She is on her way to her college of choice in Fall. The connection I had with my counsler was great!

HelloCollege made the college application and decision process way more stressful, making it feel way more manageable. I really appreciate how personalized everything felt, my counselor was very focused on making sure the application process was specific and tailored to me, and not outside influence. I really like how organized and compact the application is, by the time my senior year started, I felt like I was ahead of my peers.

Kim was great to work with. She helped prepare my son and keep him on task for what can feel like a daunting task of applying for college.

Mrs. Shipman as my counselor has made it a very good experience for me. Many of the necessities I had low motivation for, she encouraged me and helped me complete all of them. Without her help, finishing college applications would have been so much more difficult. I truly am grateful for her help.

Kim and the Hello College team provided a great deal of support to our family when my daughter was researching colleges and universities. They also navigated her through the application process, fafsa, and provided an essay coach and tutors for multiple subjects. There was also a financial aid expert that helped us understand how to compare the different schools from that standpoint. Kim was a great point person to help us take advantage of all the services and I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering Hello College.

The main concern I had and why I am giving the overall experience a 3 is because some gentleman somewhere in the process INSISTED that my son use his high school e-mail account to communicate with the college’s. My son told this individual that this was not a good idea because of firewalls in place. The gentleman insisted and instead of getting the acceptance letters via e-mail we had to go track them down ourselves. (And all the other e-mails we should have been getting from the start) After paying $12,000 to avoid mistakes, this is a big issue. When I reached out to Amanda Yoder I was met with what I considered to be a sugary sweet condescending reply that didn’t really take ownership of the issue. I responded to that email saying exactly how I felt. I did receive another email from Amanda apologizing and getting a more direct answer. I appreciated that and wish it would’ve just been that way from the start. Only personal email should be used with any correspondence to any college. The high school or district email should be eliminated from the equational altogether.

On a positive note, our counselor Leslie was the most helpful person and we appreciate her so much.

Hello college is the best of the best! Specifically my counselor Leslie, she helped me through my college process and because of this I am going to my dream college. Her dedication to my journey through this difficult time made it feel so much easier. I am beyond grateful for the time she spent helping me. Leslie is the best!! I 100% recommend using hello college they make the process so seamless.

My mentor was very sweet and was very active in helping me stay on track of all my applications.

My counselor, Leslie Riccio, made the whole process a hundred times less stressful for me than I would have made it for myself doing it alone. While all my friends were rushing to submit their applications at the end of October, I was already done thanks to the plans Leslie helped me make regarding my Common App and essay timelines. She also gave me amazing advice and resources after I submitted my applications, including scholarship websites to use and interview techniques for honors programs.

Raymond was super kind and understanding and was so flexible in rescheduling everything. He is an excellent communicator and gave me an honest take on schools- I couldn’t have finished the college application process without his help!

Meg worked with me all throughout the essay process, she helped come up with ideas, edit my work, and refine my writing to fit the word count. She was super kind and supportive the entire time and became a friend to both my mother and I. Meg was able to accommodate shorter essay turnover times and send me edits usually within 24 hours. I could not gave asked for a better experience, I truly have Meg to thank for guiding me through the college essay process and making it not just easier, but even making it enjoyable!
