Beware!!

Beware!!
I signed up for an online course. After some time has passed, SailTrain said that my course had expired and that I would have to pay the fee again to access it.
I had received no warning of this, so feel ripped off. Especially as it would cost them nothing to reinstate my online access

You purchased a course that was valid for 12 months. We hold your written confirmation that you accepted this 12-month limit at the time of purchase. You tried to access the course over 2 years later.
The course is provided by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and after the 12-month limit (with there being no activity) they, not us, have deleted the course and all your information. Which they are required to do under the General Data Protection Regulations.
Your course cannot be reinstated as it no longer exists.
You stated that you had completed the course, at which point access to the course would cease anyway.
You also stated that you didn’t want access to the course, you just wanted confirmation that you had completed the course so that you could take the exam that follows the course. Upon completion of the course, you print your own course completion certificate. When we asked you to provide a copy of that certificate (so that we could assist you in taking the exam) you were unable to do so.
I cannot think of any other explanation other than you didn’t actually complete the course in which case you would be trying to obtain an Internationally recognised qualification under false pretences or you have misplaced the completion certificate. In either case the situation is beyond our control.
As explained, in the absence of a course completion certificate, there is only one alternative and that is to take the course again. In order to provide you with that course we must purchase the course from the RYA. Purely as a goodwill gesture, we have offered you a new course at a reduced cost and it is therefore, hard to see what else we could have done.

Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course.

I have so far done The Essential Navigation and Seamanship course through Sailtrain.Org, and I I highly recommend this online training centre. The tutor, that I worked with was communicative and helpful and answered any questions I had concisely and promptly. One other very important factor for me is that Sailtrain.Org's prices are very reasonable and unmatched by anyone else I looked at. I plan to do at least 2 more courses and I have no doubt whatsoever, that Sailtrain.Org is who I shall choose to do all and any of the RYA courses that I do.
A top 5star rating from me, a very happy client. Sailtrain=excellent!👍

Great instructor

Great instructor. Clear, concise and fun VHF/ SRC course. Would highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and accessible!

Great course and Instructor!

Almost everyone I spoke to about doing the Ocean Theory course online told me it would be too difficult and I would need to do the in classroom course to have the concepts and mathematics explained. They all lied. I really enjoyed the RYA Ocean Online course, and never once did I wish I had done it in a classroom rather. Peter Dance (instructor) was always available to answer any questions I had, and I found the explanations and animations to be more than adequate at helping me to understand the concepts. Great course at a great price!

Fantastic RYA Training Centre

I completed the VHF course online, then I carried out the practical exam with Sailtrain. I thoroughly enjoyed this course, Peter, the instructor, was fantastic, he gave me support via phone and email, and responded to my questions very quickly. On the day of the VHF exam I was very nervous, but Peter made me feel calm with his light humorous self.

Since completing this course, I have completed the RYA Day Skipper theory and practical, Diesel Engine, Radar and First Aid courses with Sailtrain (although the VHF and the Diesel Course were my favourite), I can't recommend them enough, they are a fantastic, professional and helpful training centre.

Excellent

Excellent, the best online course I made during the last years. The additional support by phone and email was unexpected supportive and helps me a lot to understand the questions und to be well prepared for the final assessment.
